I made a last minute reservation for my parents, visiting on a Saturday night. Very nice room (albeit only accessed after 5pm, upon request of owners) in an excellent area- great places to eat and bars, with boutique shops etc.. Apparently the morning breakfast (On Sunday morning, no later than 830am-again owners convenience won the day) consisted of a single... More

I stayed in the Fox Hill B&B for one night and of all the B&Bs I've been to, this one had such a great homely feel. Sue and Tim are a lovely couple who instantly make you feel like you're one of the family when you enter into the house. The house itself is gorgeous, with all the period features... More

I've stayed with the Haighs several times and it is always like coming home to friends. On a drizzly London day the house is an airy, comfy refuge filled with books, quilts and curios. Sue and Tim are gracious, helpful, knowledgeable, interesting and interested hosts, with friends and family members frequently dropping by - basically you join their family for... More

Very welcoming lovely owners & a beautiful house with patchworks and antiques, but at this price there were a few glaring omissions. There was no provision for drinks of tea & coffee other than those supplied at breakfast and breakfast itself was minimal (the cooked breakfast just bacon and egg - tho nicely cooked). The room also wasn't cleaned, not... More

We enjoyed our 6 night stay at this interesting B&B. Our hosts Sue and Tim were very welcoming, charming folks. We selected this B&B because we wanted to be near a train station, yet in a quiet location. Crystal Park train station is not too far, but it was very hilly and our legs got a good workout. Tim was... More

We were looking for a home-stay type experience on our first trip to London--found this in Alistair Sawday's Garden B & B book. Loved it, and have returned from the states numerous times w/other relatives and friends! True family experience; felt like Tim and Sue treated us with respect and friendship, making many recommmendations on buses to take, how to... More

I've stayed at this B&B on 4 different occasions. My cousin and I wanted to learn about the culture since our ancestors were from England. We did not want to stay in a commercial hotel, but wanted the experience of a regular neighborhood and family experience. That's is exactly what we got at Fox Hill. We were welcomed like old... More

We were disappointed in this B&B. The house and rooms were very cluttered and not particularly clean--two cats and a huge dog leave a lot of dander and hair. The location is out of the way, and the rates are very expensive given how far it is from central London. Breakfast was absolutely dreadful--the toast was burnt and the bacon... More

Very pleasant hosts, clean high quality bed linen, quiet location, lovely garden, easy car parking in street outside. That's the good news. Now the bad: no hospitality tray, no drinking glasses, no wash hand basin in bedroom (our bathroom and WC were on a different floor from the bedroom - the latter cluttered with the owners' shaving equipment, toiletries etc),... I stayed two or three nights in 2001 and was warmly welcomed; the place is lovely and I'd recommend it to anyone. I took the single room on the top floor. Sue makes beautiful quilts, and every bedroom has at least one hand-made bed quilt. -- Rachel Holmen, Berkeley, CA, USA
