Third visit to this property, and walked away with nothing but positive reviews. From check-in, to room cleanliness, and all the way to check-out, its a smooth operation they are managing here. Wish the rates would be more reasonable, but what can you expect for a hotel in the heart of the business district.

Third trip to London and third stay here. Location is awesome for getting about London. Staff is always accommodating checked in after a very long flight and Isabel at the front reception was very patient and helpful in providing a different room due to unexpected change in the number of guests we had checking in. Room was upgraded for us... More

stayed one night at this hotel and had a very nice and comfortable stay. As I have a IHG Gold membership, i was upgraded to a deluxe. Room was very spacious and spotlessly clean and so was the bathroom. Staffs were very welcoming, helpful and their service was fantastic. The hotel is very close to Blackfriars station. Will definitely stay... More

This hotel was booked by my daughter to celebrate my wife's special birthday. On arrival we were told that we had been upgraded to a better room and to top that had birthday cake delivered to our room. How's that for care and service?

We only had one night in this hotel but what a night. Our experience got off to a great start when we were upgraded to a deluxe room, we also received a complimentary welcome drink. We were celebrating my wifes birthday weekend and were pleasantly surprised with a free birthday cake. We had a fabulous weekend which was made even... More

I staid for a week at the Crowne Plaza during a business trip. The room was comfortable and spacious, with a very good bed. The hotel is well located in a safe neighborhood and easily accessible with public transports. The breakfast buffet is very well served (English, French, Asian breakfasts available). A small remark on the coffee which is very... More

One of many good hotels in the city. Next to Blackfriars underground station and quay so ideal for travelling to anywhere in the city. Hotel restaurant soul less so eat outside. Breakfast is usual chain hotel fare, nothing to rave about. Rooms are comfortable and beds amazingly comfy. Hotel is very quiet so undisturbed nights sleep is a bonus.

We arrived, from Southampton from an Oceania cruise, in London at about 11:30am. It was a 2 hour ride from the port. We upgraded to a King size bed and were in our room by noon. The upgrade included breakfast & Wifi. Absolutely perfect. The staff were all very friendly & helpful, the room was nice, large, and clean. The... More

I was really disappointed in this hotel. I know the area extremely well and have stayed many times in other London properties. I was excited by the location of this hotel, but ended up feeling very ripped off. The service was poor from the moment of check in with a very rude (and incompetent) individual. For the first time in... More

We always stay here for theatre and other social visits to London. This hotel has never been less than friendly and welcoming and we always look forward to coming back. The location is excellent and the service is second to none.

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
