Came to London for a trip away with my dad. Lovely room, opposite blackfriars tube station so easy to access. Overpriced bar. £18 for 2 drinks, ridiculous. I am an IHG employee and I never expected to be treat so badly, the staff were rude, I must say not all of them, the doormen were lovely. However the reception staff... More

We stayed for a Saturday night at this lovely hotel located across the road from Blackfriars tube station. Excellently equipped room on a club floor so we were able to take advantage of the Club Lounge and breakfasted there. I suspect this is a very busy business hotel Monday to Friday with a number of restaurants to choose from. Saturday... More

The hotel is especially easily accessible from Gatwick since there's a train going from Gatwick to Blackfriars (which is right next to the hotel). Pretty close to city centre too. We arrived a bit early, a friendly receptionist couldn't find us a room but gave us a call as soon as it was available. Surprisingly spacious rooms with a comfy... More

My wife and I stayed four nights at the Crowne Plaza hotel together with our two children, 4 and 5 years old. The first very nice discovery was that the hotel was very conveniently located next to the Blackfriars railway and underground station. More or less across the street from the station. The staff was attentive and helped us out... More

Stayed at the Crowne Plaza for 3 nights. The absolute best part was the kindness and welcome shown to us by Balazs in the concierge lounge. Nothing we asked was any problem, even though we asked the same questions over and over. Thoughtful and friendly, as good an employee as you will find at any hotel - anywhere. 10 out... More

I would totally recommend this London hotel, so nice clean and modern very quiet rooms and the local area is so nice to walk around, just around the corner from the Thames, so a nice walk into the sites is easy.

Location: Right opposite the train/ underground station. Within a few stop gets you to most attractions in London. Rooms: Clean, modern, spacious room, spacious bathroom with good heating (which is important because most hotel have bad heating system) Service: Good service, staff went out of the way to get me a vacuum cleaner for me to compress my clothes in... Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
