We stayed at the Crowne plaza (city) from May 21st for 3 nights. The location was great, directly opposite Blackfriars tube station providing immediate access to the district and circle lines. The hotel is situated right next to the Thames where we enjoyed walks and restaurants, on both sides river. Our room was really spacious for central London and it... More

Stayed in London the evening having been to the football during the day. For the price, wasn't expecting much but was however very pleasantly surprised. The staff were very polite and helpful, the room was lovely and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent! We would most definitely return!

We had a great time staying here! We had a group of us in London on business travel and the staff were more than accommodating for all of us! The rooms were clean and the front desk staff were always helpful when we had questions. Breakfast was good too!

Very central and walking distance to Tower Bridge and the London Eye. Stayed here for 4 nights. Although it is right next to a busy road, no noise was heard and had a very relaxing stay. Just across from the Tube Station and thus very convenient to get round London. Great and friendly staff!!!

Enjoyed our three night stay. Rooms are cozy and quiet just what we needed. Service was fabulous. Anything we asked for the staff was more than happy to step up. Ate only at the lounge on the main level. What a great place to relax after a day of touring around. Food was very good as well. The tube is... More

I had a fantastic stay in this hotel. Location great- directly opposite Blackfriars tube station. Room was on the 7th floor and was perfect. Very quiet despite being on a busy road! Good size room and bathroom. It was very clean and had all the amenities needed for decent stay business or pleasure. Great mini bar, tea/coffee, toiletries and ironing... More

Sharply appointed hotel, literally steps away from all transportation. The room was good sized and the bed comfortable. It's just a few blocks from Fleet Street, there is a small grocery store next door and a Starbucks across the street. It's across the street from the Blackfriars pub which is a must visit pub!

Since I've stayed here plenty of times I brought some friends for a night out in London. Simone and Bianca's hospitality is what brings me back. They always go the extra mile which is second to none. The only problem I had was with the guy at the bar who doesn't quite know how to talk. I won't call out... More

Wife and I checked into this hotel on May 3rd about 1800 and stayed 6 nights. The Concierge came outside and assisted with bags. Check-in was smooth and quick. Elevators required a room key to select room floors. At check-in the desk agent made some comments about the room key. In my tired state, I only picked up on the... More

Beware this hotel. When I checked out they took £2,224.00 from the personal debit card I left for room service charges only. The room charge itself was paid direct by my company. They later admitted this was due to human error but it would take 7 days to refund my account. How come when they can charge me in the... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
