Admitedly, I spent probably more than 50 nights in this hotel and I keep returning every time I am in London. Whenever checking in I am greeted as a welcome guest. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The location is perfect for business and pleasure. I can only recommend the Crowne Plaza next to Blackfriars Station.

We took a family vacation and visited in late July. I am an IHG club member, so we got slightly upgraded rooms on the 5th floor. By London standards the rooms were spacious (normal hotel rooms size for the US). We had two rooms and neither had any view at all - one had a windows on the hotel skylight... More

Ok so it's not cheap but you get what you pay for in London! My daughter & I have just spent a lovely night at this hotel. Situated directly across the road from Blackfriars tube/rail station and a stone's throw from the river, St Paul's & Fleet Street. Perfect! We were fortunate to be upgraded to the Club floor so... Overall, a nice impression - the hotel lobby is clean and spacious and breakfast was good. However, I was given a very shabby "accessibility" room (I am not disabled) which had peeling paint, missing tiles in the bathroom and was generally very shabby. A disappointing stay.

My friends and I had the pleasure of staying at the Crowne Plaza London - The City, during the week of July 12th. The hotel was not only stylish, clean, and well-maintained; the staff was extremely professional, helpful, and friendly. Front desk staff helped with our complicated room assignments (there were 10 of us) with ease. One staff member (tall... More

Best part of staying here was definitely the location, just across the street from Blackfriars. There are mini marts and coffee shops close by. Hotel is clean, great value, comfortable beds and very helpful hotel staff. RECOMMENDED !

The hotel is situated in the western end of the "square mile," near Blackfriars Bridge and tube station. Convenient for us: 1) walk to the London Eye to the south (1 mile) or Tate Modern south then east after crossing bridge (1 mile); 2) walk or direct tube to Tower of London to the east 1 mile-ish; 3) walk to... Good: Fast wireless, lovely bar downstairs for drinks, great service. Free parking right next to the hotel on street - if you are visiting on the weekends Good size rooms, small bathrooms - very clean.

Classy hotel, great location, service superb in all areas. Executive Lounge freebies are generous and varied. Breakfast very impressive in terms of variety (pomegranate seeds, nuts, dried fruit as well as inventive cooked items), free range eggs (most hotels don't care about such things) and top quality seamless service by the staff - no running out of crockery and cutlery... Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
