I had a fantastic stay in this hotel. Location great- directly opposite Blackfriars tube station. Room was on the 7th floor and was perfect. Very quiet despite being on a busy road! Good size room and bathroom. It was very clean and had all the amenities needed for decent stay business or pleasure. Great mini bar, tea/coffee, toiletries and ironing... More

Sharply appointed hotel, literally steps away from all transportation. The room was good sized and the bed comfortable. It's just a few blocks from Fleet Street, there is a small grocery store next door and a Starbucks across the street. It's across the street from the Blackfriars pub which is a must visit pub!

Since I've stayed here plenty of times I brought some friends for a night out in London. Simone and Bianca's hospitality is what brings me back. They always go the extra mile which is second to none. The only problem I had was with the guy at the bar who doesn't quite know how to talk. I won't call out... More

Wife and I checked into this hotel on May 3rd about 1800 and stayed 6 nights. The Concierge came outside and assisted with bags. Check-in was smooth and quick. Elevators required a room key to select room floors. At check-in the desk agent made some comments about the room key. In my tired state, I only picked up on the... More

Beware this hotel. When I checked out they took £2,224.00 from the personal debit card I left for room service charges only. The room charge itself was paid direct by my company. They later admitted this was due to human error but it would take 7 days to refund my account. How come when they can charge me in the... More

I stayed for one night in mid-May. Prices across the city had rocketed because of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, and I booked late after a change of travel plans for work so my usual haunts were taken. Colleagues pulled faces when I told them where I was staying, so I was dreading getting there after getting off a late... More

I stayed at the hotel last week during a brief business trip, and was pleasantly surprised with the experience. This is by no means a luxury hotel; but compared to other hotels in London, and given the price, I think this hotel is good value and comfortable. Among the strong points: 1. Great location, especially for business in the city... More

We stayed here and stayed 2 nights 2nd and 3rd May in a Club room. The room was very nice, a good size, comfortable & well equipped. The Club room package was excellent and very convenient for us. We ate in the main restaurent & had the full English breakfast too. The hotels well placed 50 yards north of Black Friars... More

We stayed here 1 night in 2 rooms. The rooms are very clean and good size. The location of the hotel is good for Tower of London. The Blackfriars tube station is across the street, but it's on a very busy road. Overall, it was a good hotel, but I don't think I'd choose this hotel again just because I... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
