This is my second stay in this hotel, though the first review. Chose the hotel because of proximity to my office and part of a chain. The check-in is quick. The room is not large but decently spaced. The closet has ample room for one person though for about 10 days worth of clothing. the bathroom also, not large but... More

Location of hotel is excellent. Few steps away is Tesco supermarket and Costa coffee. Restaurants around the area. Millennium bridge is 5 minutes walk away which brings you to Tate modern art museum and Shakespeare Globe. St Paul's Cathedral is just 10 minutes walk away. Right across the hotel is the Blackfriar tube station that brings you to other attractions... More

We are a family of 4 staying for two nights in a two double bed room. We paid in advance with breakfast included for four of us. The room is facing office building and the people in the office can see us clearly that we need to close the curtain always. Other than that, no complaints! The choice of breakfast... More

Recently stayed for two nights with two young children and I must say it was fantastic. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and it was in a fantastic location, close to all the major sights and right on Blackfriars tube line. Breakfast wasn't included but we purchased breakfast vouchers on arrival which were £14.99 for each adult (per day) allowing... More

Great location, right outside Blackfriars and close to the south bank for walks. We did have issues with our club lounge card not working and lighting in the room, but these were addressed by the management. They kindly gave us a cake for our anniversary, which considering the room was paid in points was an unexpected touch. Friendly staff. Club... More

I've stayed in a number of Crowne Plaza hotels and they are usually smart but formulaic, reliable as a quality hotel. Most of the time they are good, occasionally not so. The Crowne Plaza at Blackfriars is very definitely a level above the usual brand. It is perfectly positioned directly opposite Blackfriars Station, next to Blackfriars Pier, in the heart... More

We stayed here for 2 nights. It is the typical corporate hotel. Breakfast is not included, but free tea, hot chocolate and biscuits are in the room, which we appreciated. Wifi was a little spotty, and you have to pay if you are not a rewards member. The beds were very comfortable, the bath towels were huge, lighting was good,... More

Dear Librarian1998, Thank you for your comments in regards to your recent stay at Crowne Plaza London The City. Stayed for four nights in a junior suite which was super, club lounge was excellent as usual. Francesco "I think his name is" was very attentive and friendly. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in London as the hotel is in a great location for shows etc.

Stayed for one night, leisure. Room was small but bed extremely comfortable. Very quiet for central London, slept like a log. Reception staff and concierge were excellent, as was the service at the Chinese Cricket Club - we were in quite a rush to eat and go out in the evening and the restaurant staff duly obliged by bringing out... Dear Mark L, Thanks you for staying with us during your recent London trip. A good nights rest is an very important part of staying in hotels and to hear that you "slept like a dog" is great to hear. If you purchase breakfast in advance than it becomes a lot better value for money. Best Regards More

Stayed with 2 kids, 8 and 10, in a family room - 2 double beds. The room was spacious and clean and adequate for our needs. Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
