We loved this hotel. The service was great, the pub, restaurant and hotel are all in one, which is very convenient. The location right on Portobello Road is magnificent and we will certainly come back to this hotel.

We had a great stay here myself and my business partner. It's quirky and rustic, food is spectacular (fishermans pie to die for and the morning scrambled eggs Wowsa!) the chef sang his way through breakfast and entertained us all! Rooms small / shower ok but so what it's comfortable and well worth a visit!

Very nice little b&b in the heart of London with Portobello Road market at your doorstep! Very quiet, even when market is on and when pub on ground floor is busy. Tube Station and various bus lines within 5 mins walk. We had a great stay and will come back soon!

I often stay at the Portobello and love it. A recent visit felt like coming home. The manager Alex is so friendly and attentive he makes you feel like you are coming to stay with an old friend. The rooms are quite small but you have everything you need. You couldn't ask for a better location situated right in the... More

We cannot thank you enough for all of your help with the babyshower we threw for our friend on your beautiful room 6 terrace. Your team were welcoming, the facilities fantastic, the food delicious (and reasonably priced), and we couldn't have asked for anything else (except maybe better weather - damn you Thor). One of the Managers even brought up... More

I stayed with a friend in a twin room above this Bar on Portobello Road. If you want 3 Star accomodation with 4 star location, with 5 star people to look after you, then this is the place. We had a small problem with one of the rooms( The smallest in the place ), being a little too small for... More

We have stayed at the Gold on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed, the staff are friendly, the service is efficient and personal. The bar area is full character and characterful people. The restaurant is excellent having private booths with Moroccan style low tables and cushioned seats to one side and a conventional table dining area with lots of... More

My fiancé and I have stayed at the Portobello Gold several times over the last 2 years or so , and I can honestly say our time there seems to get even better every time we visit. The location is perfect - right in the middle of Portobello market which adds to the Gold's vibrant atmosphere. We have stayed in... More

An absolute gem of a secret. Clean, quirky and extremely welcoming. Rooms are small but more than adequate for a very affordable stay exactly where I needed to be. Personal and friendly service that made me welcome from the first minute to the last. I'm definitely going back.

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
