Past experience, has shown there are few decent hotels within my companies budget in SE London. Therefore it was nice to stumble across The Clarendon. Only downside was the limited parking. Food is nice, free wi-fi, and a couple of nice beers in the bar. Smooth check in / out

Pros: Great and safe area. Not too far from the Blackheath Rail Station on the So. East Rail Line. From the station you can catch a bus (89 is one) that would take you to the hotel free if you had purchased a train pass. Very comfortable, free breakfast...not much of a selection, friendly staff, free wi fi*, nice size... More

We stayed at the Clarendon on one of the busiest possible days in London, the Champions League final night between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium, the Aviva Rugby final was a Twickenham and Carl Froch-Mikkel Kessler boxing match was on at the O2 Arena in Greenwich. Despite limited availability across the whole of London and crazy prices... More

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the last 4 years through work and have always had a comfortable stay. The hotel is situated in a great location in Blackheath Village and is close to the local rail network providing easy access to the London Underground network. In some areas the hotel is looking a bit tired and... More

The Clarendon was quite the best hotel we have visited on a good number of coach holidays. Being formed out of a rank of Georgian houses, the lay-out, as expected was a bit of a rabbit warren. This we felt contributed a lot to the charm of the hotel and was far nicer than the long soul-less, airless corridors of... More

Stayed here the night before we set off on a bike ride to Paris. Made to feel very welcome by the friendly staff - hotel neat, clean and tidy and breakfast at 05.30 on the morning we left first class. Hotel comfortable and beautifully positioned on the edge of Blackheath close to a local pub and the Village. Can fully... More

Booked into Clarendon Hotel, Blackheath, London for 2 nights , 23rd May to 25th May. 3 star rating, excellent location , but Hotel stuck in a time warp. 70's type décor, in need of urgent refurbishment. No extractor fan in bathroom. OK. if you want a Turkish bath. Breakfast staff pleasant , food good and decent selection. Would definitely avoid... More

Very tired hotel in excellent setting ideally placed to visit greenwich and canary wharf. Breakfast buffet was ok but once again the restaurant was tired. Rooms need to be refurbished and brought up to date.

Took my mum here for Cream Tea, the staff were so friendly, Freda the waitress couldn't do enough for us, we had a lovely table facing the heath. Really good value for money. Highly recommended. It was my mum's birthday and they put balloons on the table and the staff even sang happy birthday to her!

Dear berieindalyan2006, thank you for the review of your afternoon for your mothers birthday. I am really pleased the staff made the day a great success. Afternoon is very popular at the hotel, last week we also served Afternoon Tea to Jude Law and 100 guests - so you are in very good company. I will also inform Freda about... More

I understand that the Clarendon is rated 2 star and to be frank even one star would be generous. My single room was small and the bathroom very dated. I've never seen liquid soap and body lotion fixed to the wall before to prevent guest from taking it. Not that you would want to, it was a very strange colour.... More
