Ever been given a voucher for Christmas and never got round to making use of it? Well, we were given a voucher for afternoon tea for two with champagne at the Bentley. I will start by saying that everything was just great. A slight criticism would be that the seats are a little past their prime. The staff, (Ramil and... More

Don't usually write reviews, but I think this hotel definitely needs a mention. Stayed for one night for business. The hotel surprisingly looks really nice, very Victorian and regal. Lobby small, but looked amazing with gold painted furniture and marble floors. Reminded me of a Russian palace. Checkin was smooth, room was very big and nice. Guy at reception was... More

From the concierge, Mario, Zoltan and Alex, to the reception of Marisa and Siranee, everyone treats us like family. The old world style hotel is beautifully appointed in the lobby area and the afternoon tea shouldn't be missed. Close to Gloucester Rd underground in South Kensington, near to Knightsbridge and Earl's Court. Walking or jogging in Kensington Gardens ( next... More

I booked this hotel for a romantic break close to Valentines day and was looking forward to a 5 Star experience. I found the stay a bit disappointing overall. In terms of positives the location was great and convenient for our stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and very professional. The room was okay, but everything looked a... More

I was invited along to this restaurant by friends, and so didn't say anything on the evening, but really wanted to. Some of the things that riled me: The bar was shut on a Saturday night, but we had to sit there in front of a guy making cocktails for other people upstairs for 5 minutes before being told this.... We stayed here this week and other than one aspect found the hotel to be well located close to the tube, the room was a good size, nice bed and bathroom and the staff were friendly and helpful. We visited the spa too which was good and breakfast the next day was great. Overall this was very good value for... More

My partner booked the hotel as a late birthday present after we stayed at The Kensington Hotel last year and had a fantastic stay. Unfortunately it wasn't even close to as nice as an experience. The hotel is very grand but there's a lot of wear and tear, particularly in the bedrooms, which does make you wonder about the high... More

My wife and I spent a comfortable couple of nights at The Bentley, London. It offered nothing more or less than we expect for the price. What I find extremely objectionable is that they charge an extra £8/£9 per day for WiFi! So, instead of having breakfast in the hotel, we went to the nearby Pret-a-Manger where the coffee and... I went to the hotel only for afternoon tea with a friend and her daughter. The service was incredible and felt very genuine at the same time. They were so sweet to my friends daughter (5) and got her a hot chocolate. The sandwich fingers were fresh and delicious, the scones and cakes were great! We spent about 2 hours... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
