Wonderful hotel, great staff even better "Bloody Mary's". The hotel is in a historic part of Central London in a quite peaceful leafy area. However close to the central attractions and good local restaurants. The room had one of the best showers that I have ever had and huge very very comfortable beds. I would certainly go again.

Oh I so wanted to rate this one well! Let's start this off positively: Best thing about this hotel is the location, only a 5 minute walk from Farringdon station and it appeared the same from Barbican. It's not far from Central London so well placed for a stay in the capital. The reception area is very classy, which is... More

Dear TechniquestS482 Thank you for your detailed review. You have highlighted a number of positive aspects to your stay. I apologise that you had issues with your key card, due to the magnetic nature of them they sometimes deactivate if close to a mobile phone or credit card however it sounds like there may have been an error when it... Stayed at this hotel for August Bank Holiday. We stayed in a lovely Boutique Style Standard Room, amazing bed with a great sized TV. Bathroom had a walk in waterfall shower. Staff were very friendly and changed our bedding and towels daily. The fire alarm did go off at 3am Monday but that was no fault of the hotel as... More

Dear 737hayleys Thank you very much for your review. Your understanding regarding the fire alarm is greatly appreciated, of course it is for our guests safety and whilst we understand it can be disruptive to our guests it is something that we have to have. I am thrilled that you had such a good stay and look forward to welcoming... More

We spent a great evening here on the 21st of July, cocktails and fizz in the bar first and then an amazing meal in the brasserie. All staff were very attentive and the menu had plenty of choice for everyone. My asparagus starter with poached egg & hollandaise sauce was the best I've ever had and my salmon was cooked... More

A lovely get away! Loved that it was located somewhere quiet but was just around the corner from the Underground station. The only downfall is that we had booked the Mal Club room which was beautiful, however we found out due to a dip in the bed that it was two single beds put together as one. Considering how much... Dear Bayleigh R Thank you for visiting Malmaison and taking time to review your stay. I am pleased that you had a good experience overall, I have asked my housekeeping team to ensure that the matresses are correctly zipped in order to ensure that our guests experience is not hindered due to the twin option in some of our rooms.... I surprised my boyfriend for his birthday with a weekend stay at Malmaison, and we were greeted by friendly staff and another birthday surprise in the room! This was our first stay here, and it certainly lived up to Malmaison's stylish reputation. The room itself was lovely, huge bed and fantastic waterfall shower. We had cocktails in the bar when... Room was lovely- standard is too small and superior is nicer (previously stayed in superior). Food was awful given that we have eaten at other malmaison hotels previously I feel this is the worst one for food. The calamari was burnt. All the meat/seafood was overcooked and the brasserie staff were unhelpful, slow and unattentive.

A good hotel which we got for an amazing price through an offer on Booking.com However if we had payed full price maybe I wouldn't have been so impressed. Our complaints are minor. The check-in time of 3pm seems a little late. As we were going to a matinee theatre show we were unable to freshen up and just had... More

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighborhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
