Really comfortable - more like your own luxury bedroom than just a hotel room. Tea, coffee, hairdryer, gown ... all you'd want for an enjoyable stay. Great toiletries in a lovely bathroom. Add to that the great location, 3 minutes walk to Barbican tube, and this is a sure winner. Only downside of our front-facing room was bottle and litter... More

I will always say that Malmaison chain have taken all the bad bits from all the other hotel chains, read them carefully, and created the master hotel chain. Another great visit - have stayed in Manchester and Newcastle before and London didn't fail me. It's always a pleasure - keep it up. Beautiful room. Amazing bathroom. Decor is gorgeous, modern... Fabulous place to stay, close to the underground. We had an overnight stay in London, arriving at 8.30 in the morning and leaving the next day at 6pm. We chose Malmaison because of its location. It was a brilliant choice. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and we were very happy with the room. We were able to see... More

Spent a weekend here with friends. Quite simply it proved to be a perfect base. Central enough but just out of the way. Lovely quiet hotel. Immaculate rooms and very tidy and clean. Very very comfortable and stylish. Made all the better by the brilliant and friendly staff. Visit again? Definitely!!!!

Our daughters paid for us to have a stay at this hotel and concert tickets. 2-3 min walk from Barbican tube station, really easy to find. 5 min walk to London museum. On circle line so easy to get to albert hall but did take about 30 mins. But such a quiet place in the centre of London it was... More

Some friend / work colleagues and I had dinner there last night and it was fabulous. The atmosphere was electric and the food was delicious, the staff were charming and so helpful - it was a really special evening.

This is an excellent boutique hotel tucked away in a lovely cobbled street beside Smithfield. The staff are all lovely, birthday treats in the room and the restaurant. Our suite was amazing, so much space for a London hotel!

Really enjoyed my stay. Not geared for business as well as personal travel but lovely stay. Staff was accomodating and service was exemplary. The sleeping was excellent and the beds were very comfortable.

Room was furnished really well, good products in the bathroom and very comfortable. There was a 2am fire alarm, which was a bit of a downer... Breakfast was ok, thought the selection for continental was below average. Cooked stuff was good though.

Went here on a trip to London recently and stayed with the malmazing deal only paid £35.00 for the room and at that price for this hotel I was really impressed. I would say if your using the tube get off at Barbican and not Farringdon as suggested as the hotel is much easier to get to from this station.

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighborhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
