I booked in St Christopher's Inn Oasis, which is part of the Village. I stayed in a 10-bed female room during the new year weekends. It was a nice stay. The hostel is around 3 minutes walk to the London bridge tube station, and 3 minutes walk to the Borough Market. Based on that I have to say it has... More

I have stayed at other St Christopher´s (Amsterdam and Paris) and this one does not rank high for me. First, it smells. I am not sure if this is an older building but if it is, that would make sense why it smells so bad. The showers and bathrooms....smell very bad. The bathroom with the 2 showers and 2 toilets... My friend and I stayed in a two bedroom room (bunk beds) after attending Christmas works party-we did not need 5 star luxury just somewhere to sleep it worked out £22 each. A hell of a lot cheaper than a taxi back to Essex. To be honest I was a little apprehensive, but the place is great, the beds were... More

Had an amazing stay here! Arrived on the 23rd of November to a very clean room. Food was great. Very close to the tube, buses, trains etc. The staff were fantastic! Great location for everything I wanted to see in London. I could either walk along the river to the city center or the Train & underground station is 5 minutes from the hostel. Staff are friendly, the 2 bars had a good atmosphere & deals for guests. I stayed in a 10 dorm in the Female only Oasis section. Clean... More

Positive things: the hostel is located 5-10 minutes by walk fro London Bridge stop. The showers were really clean, and the smell was fine. The room number 1, was a bit cold/windy to change the air in the room; but at the end was fine. Remember the UK power plagues are different from other europeans; at the end I didn't... More

I have finally found a hostel in London that was so so good!! St Christopher's Village. It is mixed but there is a bathroom only for women- that bathroom is very clean! there was always hot or cold water as I needed. Next to the bed is a small light which makes it very convenient when everyone else is sleeping.... More

This was an awesome hostel. But even better was the pubcrawl that left from the hostel. The guide Danny from Sydney was an awesome guy and really helped me have an awesome experince. 10/10 would go again. It really was a good time staying at this hostel as im a younger person backpacking around europe at the moment.

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
