I've been travelling for a while and have stayed in many a hostel in London. I have officially found my favourite. Free Wifi, Free Breakfast (with a good selection) clean bedding and room (bed was made yay!) The facilities were super clean- they had a big team of cleaners I saw working so go them!!!! Lovely reception staff...Unfortunately I arrived... More

Very disappointed with my experience with this hostel. I tried to book and pay for my stay here on their website, however, the site would not accept my bank card. Online I was to pay 90 pounds. I called the hostel and told them of the situation, I was told to send my bank details in an email with the... More

Hi Claudia, I am sorry you had a bad experience when booking with us. The prices on our own website are the lowest you can get for all our hostels. We try to accept as many payment options as possible including paypal (choosing this option will enable you to use virtually any card). The reservation agent should have charged you... More

I have stayed in some horrible backpackers in London so was quite pleased to find St Christopher's. The place is clean, the beds are comfortable, the staff are really lovely and the facilities offer everything you need. Wifi is good, the showers are very good. The location is fabulous for sightseeing central London, and getting the train to other areas.... More

I satyed in this hostel for more than a week and I liked. The staff is very nice. The rooms and the common spaces are very agreeable. The only thing that was not perfect was that I needed to change rooms very often because the hostel was almost full.

This was the very first hostel I ever stayed at and it was a very pleasant experience. The location was perfect - right next to London Bridge tube station which made it so easy to get around everywhere, and across the road from the Borough Markets which I thoroughly recommend. I felt very safe in this area. We stayed in... More

This is a big, centrally-located and well-organised hostel. My dorm had 20 bunks and I slept well on top bunk "U" in Room A. Secure access by electronic cards. No lockers, but there are storage cages under the beds and padlocks available at reception. Cleanliness is good (no unpleasant smells), sheets crisp clean and white, warm continental quilt. Towels available... More

Managed to provide more than most hostels I've stayed at without inflating the price to the point of wondering why you don't just stay at a hotel. Friendly staff willing to help whenever they can and bonus dual level bar downstairs with good food and drinks on offer for a decent price.

The staff at this hostel were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They had lots of advice on places to visit and tours to do, and were available 24/7. One of the women there, Inez, took care of me when I caught a virus, and the staff found me a vacant private room, price-matching an online quote to give me the best... More

We've stayed in this hostel for one night with a big group of friends. The plan was for us to enjoy the reduced priced tickets to the Ministry of sound, however there was no more available :/ The hostel, generally speaking, owns good spaces, good restaurant with tasty food and a great pub were we spent the night and had... Within walking distance to the tube station, plenty of restaurants and food outlets close by, with a supermarket right across the road, this is a great hostel to stay in. I found my solo stay as a young female traveller so pleasant, their staff were so helpful and I have subsequently maintained contact with a number of them.

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
