I stayed in the hostel, and have no experience with the flatshares. Have stayed in the Dover Castle 3 times, and for 3 nights on each occasion. I've been in the same room each time. For what it is, this is a perfectly fine hostel. It's well maintained, there's a common room/kitchen area with television, oven, sink, seating, and a... More

I had lots of fun in this place with my sister even though the beds weren't that comfy (felt the springs) ... There's a bar down stairs which is pretty cool and we met plenty of people down there ! and the hostel was cheap ! The down side, no super clean (toilets) and showers were like glued together and... Such a cheap place - hence the overcrowded rooms. The continental breakfast was good, but the biggest negatives were the musty smell, and one shower for an entire floor ( and only 2 toilets). It's location is good, right next to a tube station. As aforementioned, it is not the most luxurious place, but for such a cheap price, we... More

This hostel is a classic cheapo backpacker hostel, noisy party-goers, stiff beds, cramped rooms and all. It is located in a great part of london, close enough to the center but far enough to be affordable. There is a metro station about two minutes away, and a whole bunch of take-aways around the area. At night, there are drug deals and prostitutes... More

I didn't stay at the hostel but at one of the flatshares. I met some great people there but other than that it was more than disappointing. I booked to stay in a room for two months and I had to ask for the address of the place several times and only received it a day or two before I... More

Positive: - Located in London's zone 1. - Continental breakfast was of good quality, yet not very much seating possibilities. - We (a group of four girls in their twenties) got to stay in a 6-bedded dorm, which we got to ourselves because we actually booked a 4-bedded private room. We needed the space of the two extra beds to... More

I want to start out by saying that when I made my reservation for this hostel, I was (and am) fully aware that London is one of the most expensive cities in the world, and that 16th century buildings take a lot of up-keep. I was also aware that this hostel was on the low-end of the hostel scale... I... More

Stayed at the Dover castle hostel recently and frankly, it was quite depressing. To start, there was a musty smell throughout the place, the showers were poor and smelt of sewerage and there was a general dirtiness about the place. The worst part however was the people staying there. Me and my girlfriend were in a 12 bed 'mixed' dorm... More

The location of this hostel is really good. Its about a 10 minute walk to the London Bridge, and a 20 min walk to St.Pauls cathedral. You can also walk about 200Meters to catch the metro. One of the first things i noticed about this hostel was that it had a really weird musty smell. I stayed there for four... More

Stayed at this hostel at the very end of my trip. It has a lot of potential, but never quite makes the cut. The staff is very friendly. Our main problems came with very loud roommates for two nights, not a very good breakfast, and the fact that 8 out of 10 times the nearby tube station was closed. The... More
