We spent one night here and it was lovely. The staff were really nice and friendly. The room was very comfortable. The food was good. It is situated in a lovely area near to the Cutty Sark and on the edge of a great park. It was my birthday and I got a lovely surprise of a platter of cream... More

Just back from a 1 night stay on a Travelzoo deal. What a fantastic location, in the historic heart of Greenwich and with easy parking. All the staff were very professional and also very friendly and had a bit of character, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The hotel was very clean throughout. The food was good, especially given... More

Dear LancasterBrown, Thank you for your kind review of Devonport House. You are spot on and I thank you for mentioning the fans in each bedroom, as this has been an improvement from last years feedback. Operating a Grade1 listed building on a world heritage site has it's challenges against modern buildings. There is also a lot of H&S around... More

A nice responsive hotel and staff. Very good for sightseeing and visiting other parts of London (close to the DLR and several bus stops). Lovely room - just that the view from my room directly overlooks a cemetery! Breakfast was excellent.

Dear Gugsman, Thank you very much for your kind review. The cemetory is a world heritage site, which is part of the vast historical note here at Devonport House. Whilst I am fully understanding your comment, this is a very special place in naval history (Admiral Lord Nelson) and we will not be able to change anything about the location.... More

If you want to stay in Greenwich but aren't too fussed about the hotel this is the place. Perfectly situated for Royal observatory, Maritime Museum, Cutty Sark, O2, Canary Wharf etc. However for a hotel that is billed as a 4* it leaves much to be desired. Upon arrival the receptionist was on the phone. It seemed like 30 minutes... More

We stayed for just 1 night and had a lovely time. Very well located and easy to find. Room and particularly bathroom decor could do with an update but for the price we paid, it won't stop us from coming back. Thank you for a nice experience.

I bought this deal for £99 for two people and this included bed, breakfast and evening meal with a bottle of free wine. This was a good start to the Easter break. This place is an ex royal naval college accommodation. The memories did take me back a few years!!The rooms are a tad small but very clean and adequate. All... More

We stayed recently for 2 days , this is our second stay. Hotel now looks a little tired, but bedroom was comfortable. The staff here are excellent, very helpful and friendly. Good location, short walk to the Cutty Sark and all the Museums . Would recommend and stay again.

Booked a recent stay at Devonport House Hotel and it was fantastic! We were greeted on arrival by a very nice receptionist, who helpfully told us about the facilities, our room was lovely, very well decorated and comfortable. Later we had a meal in the Greenwich Gallery and the food was fantastic, the young man who waited on our table... More

Staying in Greenwich

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.
