Having read dire reviews of this hotel after booking we were dreading what we'd find. Happy to report that our 2 night stay suffered from none of the previous reviewers' issues and I wonder if some of those reviews are well past their sell-by date. Our room had an electronic keylock, no deposit. It was small but clean and relatively... More

We have stayed in St Simeon Hotel with our 2 young children. The Staff is very welcoming and friendly, always ready to help. the location is perfect very close to Gloucester road & Earl's court tube station. The area is a very quiet and residential. We felt really safe. The hotel is a family run business, it is not luxurious... More

I booked this as it was close to the tube on the piccadilly line for ease of access to heathrow. The room was average but clean and the bed comfortable. It felt like i was staying with the russian mafia as the breakfast lady was a little intimidating and the guy on reception was always working out. That being said... More

I stayed there with my daughter and two children and was given a attic room on the 5th floor which was tiny and had a double and 2 single beds squeezed in. The bathroom was dirty and tiny. The carpet and the bed linen was all stained and we had one tiny window in the ceiling. When we went down on the... More

Unfortunately we left our luggage downstairs in the morning so didn't see the room until we came back at midnight otherwise I would have walked straight out again. They made us pay on arrival so we could not get our money back. The room was a single size with a double bed pushed up against the fire place. There was nowhere... More

it is a good hotel with breakfast. Everything was clean and nearby you can find really good little shops,a lot of restaurants that you can choose,"nandos was close by". Even Sightseeing buses were near that area, also the train station. For a night or two is good enough for that price.

Before my visit too London, I didn't have high hopes for the hotel due to the mixed reviews and the price I paid. However, it wasn't as bad as I thought and in some respects my experience was pretty good. The hotel is in an upscale and quiet neighbourhood. I felt very safe even when I was walking back to... The welcome was good, helpful. Room was shabby; curtains did not meet, in need of decoration. Shower and toilet adequate, except shower head attachment needed fixing; even after reporting this, the shower hose would not stay in the holder. Bathroom area shabby. Breakfast room - basement - guests crammed in - felt cluttered - found the service unwelcoming and not... More

Nice hotel, easily accessible and away from all the hussle and bussle of London, cheap stay for 2 nights, suited us well as a place to get our heads down and have breakfast. We stayed here for 2 nights, which I wouldn't recommend any longer with small children if you like your sleep. Walls are rather thin and if you... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
