Stayed for three nights. Be aware that there is no lift and for people of a certain age and arthritic knees being on the third floor is really a pain. Tweny steps on each flight and breakfast is in the basement. Staff not very helpfull - when asked about the ironing service (as advertised on Booking.com) - they didn't have... More

We stayed in a four person room. Plenty of towels and toiletries. Staff friendly and let us check in two hours early. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Dining room a bit cramped but manageable. Yes it's a bit jaded in places but bedding very clean as was bathroom and staff were polite and accommodating. Less than ten minutes from theatres.... More

This was a great hotel for our stay in London. We are a family of 4, 2 adults a 14 year old and a 10 year old. We were all in one room which had 4 single beds. The room was clean. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the shower was fantastic. Plenty of plug sockets for all... More

We chose the hotel just for its location and we hoped it might be more characterful. it was however very disappointing with a very small dreary and over-priced room, no lift and poor breakfast. Staff were not welcoming and if we had not just been using it as a stop-over prior to catching an early Eurostar on the way to... More

I stayed here for 4 nights ,room was very comfortable, and well presented.I thought was a bit pricey for what it was ,but thats london. Not too far from theatres and cafes etc.Breakfast room a bit small ,but if you plan it well its ok .The breakfast was always freshly cooked, good start to day.The only negative thing was how small the shower... The room I had looked nothing like the photos on their site, in fact it had four single beds lined up in it, army barracks style. It's pretty far from e action, nothing around to walk to if you want to grab some food or a drink. For some reason the faucets only ran warm water...

I enjoyed my stay at the Staunton. I was greeted at check-in by a friendly lass. She gave me a room key and showed me to a room down a not-entirely-intuitive hallway. My room was tidy, modestly sized, but not confining in the least. The hotel is conpact, but very quiet. The bed was comfortable. The TV had enough channels... More

Stayed for a couple of nights as a family of 4. Having stayed in a lot of hotels in London I found this a good overall place. There are some grounds for improvement as people have noted, typically with the décor, but I think you have to be realistic. Our room was of a good size and having 2 'proper'... More

The Staunton Hotel was listed on the Secret Escapes site as a hotel in the heart of London currently undergoing renovation. Because of this, it was able to offer a room in the newly renovated area - away from where the current work was happening - for a discount rate of £199 a night. We wanted to celebrate our anniversary... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
