I stayed here as a single female a couple of weeks ago. I had an appointment in the afternoon & on reaching the hotel early was advised my room was not ready. After a pot of tea and 20 minutes later my room was ready. I was in 104 - first floor double, with tv , tea & coffee making... More

The Staunton was one of the most reasonably priced hotels in the area. Of course, being in London, it was ridiculously expensive, but it provided decent value in comparison to other hotels in Bloomsbury. The location was great...only about a block from the British Museum and about 3 blocks for two different Tube stops. It's an "old school" hotel with... More

This is a charming small hotel. However in my mind, it is quite expensive, compared to what you get with the money. The room was quite cozy, large for London terms and quiet, but it was in the second floor in an old town house with no elevator. The minibar was quite large in selection, but was not filled for... Nice break in this hotel. It is small so more like a good bed and breakfast. Staff helpful and all problems were sorted out quickly. Great location near theatre land and close to kings cross station. Breakfast room small and can get busy.

I stayed here for three nights from June 23rd to the 25th. There is only one issue with the Staunton and I found out what it was as soon as I walked in, there is no elevator. The woman working the front desk was very polite about it and normally it wouldn't be a big deal but I was there... More

we spent 7 days here, stayed in the room 303 on the 3rd floor. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Room was spacious with 3 beds, the bathroom was clean and quite spacious, too. Downside was the noise on Gower street. It was quite hot in the room. If the air condition was switched on, then afterwards when switched off it... More

A lovely town house hotel. Staff very helpful and nice.Quite street. Stayed in basement room. Very convenient but could do with a little redecoration. Just beside The British Museum and walking distance to Covent Gardens and Oxford Street. (about 10 mins) The biggest down fall to this hotel is there is NO LIFT and it is 3 stories high. Dining... We spent one night only and targeted this hotel because of Euston train station, but at the end our train came to King's X. We walked some 20 minutes, if your luggage is not large it is OK. Check in was fast and efficient. The biggest problem is to climb with luggage up the stairs, we were at the 2nd... More

Very nice small Hote in a good areal. Staff very pleasant and helpful.. Rooms attractive and nicely decorated. En suites were immaculate and towels were of a particularly good quality. Only downside was the lack of a lift when taking luggage to the third floor in particular||

We spent one night here. We arrived at 2.15pm and the room wasn't ready. We were asked to wait for 15 minutes and waited 30. There was no apology and no offer of refreshments whilst we waited. The stairwell smelt musty, however the room was a decent size although the carpet was dirty, rust in the bath and my bedside... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
