My 4-star rating is for (1) value and (2) location. First, the bad: rooms are extremely small, even for Europe. The bathrooms were added later (I assume) when the building was converted from a townhouse to a B & B. They are are microscopic and raised a bit from the level of the bedroom I'm sure to accommodate plumbing. Sitting... More

The hotel is exactly as described: tidy, friendly (with a caveat, see below) and very well placed in a very central neighborhood. Access to the tube was easy ( either Victoria or Sloan), Mark and Simon were happy to offer advice on best routes to the days touring, local restaurants, etc. A rare tube strike took place while we were... With regards to the above comment I must apologise profoundly and say that I did not mean to hurt the child’s feelings or upset her in anyway. I know that I can be loud and a little loutish but in general I do not mean any harm .I’m truly upset that I did this and did not realise I was... More

Great position, good price, hearty welcome... My room was clean and well organized. Breakfast ok. But the gem is the care and the enthusiasm of Simon and Mark. They love London, their job and they know how to make you feel "at home". The district, except for Victoria coach station, has become very posh and for this reason it is... More

Over a 2 week period in June, we stayed 6 nights at the Lynton. Mark and Simon were great about accommodating our schedule as we were departing and returning on a regular basis so that we could use the National Express Coach system to visit friends in other parts of England. The coach station is less than 2 blocks away.... More

We stayed at the Lynton for 3 nights in July. The people were nice, very involved and kind. The room was clean, comfortable, even though the bathroom was extremely tiny so that it's difficult to get dressed without hitting the things in it. The breakfast was simply delicious and the situation was so nice that we didn't almost have to... More

Are the rooms small? Yes. Are the furnishings on the Spartan side? Yes. Are the shower/sink/toilet installed units tiny? Yes. Is the price amazing for the location? YES! The two rooms I had both had enormous high ceilings which kept the size from feeling cramped; they both had plenty of plugs for charging stuff and the beds were very comfortable.... More

I've stayed before with Simon and Mark at the Lynton and as before it is superb value with an excellent location, friendly atmosphere and wonderful breakfasts. You are 5 minutes from Victoria Station with excellent transport links. There are also good restaurants in the area. Once again, Simon and Mark thank you for a great stay. I will be back!

Amazing location for easy access to Victoria Station which has the Underground, buses and trains. Also, tourist hop on hop off buses are nearby. Clean rooms with basic accommodations. Bring your toiletries, only bars of soap provided. That's ok because the price is so great! Breakfast was nice, muesli, milk, fruit and the traditional English breakfast: poached eggs, fried ham... Breakfast was great every morning. We would ask Mark or Simon about our plans for the day. They had great inside advice! Also, they arranged for a taxi to meet us at the airport and bring us directly to the B and B. So helpful!

At the last minute I needed to find somewhere near The Mall and Victoria Station but not pay the Earth for it. It seemed an impossible task but I found this place on Google Maps after my old Lonely Planet let me down. Most places in that have shut down and become homes to Russian oligarchs. I rang up and... Staying in Belgravia

Neighborhood Profile
Belgravia
Home to the vast majority of embassies and diplomatic residences in London, sophisticated and upscale Belgravia also boasts a wealth of luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and some of the city’s most stroll worthy lanes. While the prices here are high, taking a leisurely stroll through the streets of picturesque and elegant white stucco houses is free. Hyde Park and the Buckingham Palace Gardens are only a stone's throw away to the north, and some of Europe’s best shopping is nearby as well.
