We recently stayed at this hotel. Grand Plaza is anything but 'grand'. They are quite the opposite, in fact. The place appears to have been around for a while and it truly shows. It is run down. The carpet areas near the baseboards are black. The place smells old. Its dusty. There is no AC eventhough the website claims they... More

I selected this place because it allows for 6 people occupancy. It is decent. The building is in a nice area. To get there, take the Bayswater or Queensway stop. It's about 10-15 minutes walk from Queensway tube through lively ethnic shops/restaurants. There is an Original Tour Bus stop on Porchester about 10 min. from hotel. The room itself and... More

On arriving at the Grand Plaza Apartments, they seemed quite nice from the outside, the area around was very nice and in a great location. However once walking through the entrance there was an overwhelming smell of Malaysian food and a very dated lobby. After checking in we were told that our room was not yet ready, so we left... The room was smaller than expected, shower awkward to get out of as it was in the bath not recommended for older travellers , the smoke alarm over sensitive when trying to cook. But the location is amazing so easy yo get to places , two stations close by and the choice of food options on Queensway endless also three... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. While by Sydney standard, the rooms here may seem small but here at Grand Plaza, our rooms are larger than the average room size of hotels in London. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future. - GrandPlazaHotelTeam More

The first night we got to spend in the basement. Great start for a family visit. But because there was a large turnover on rooms / suites / apartments, we managed to change to something much, much better. Confined but acceptable.

If you reserve through " Lowcostholidays" be aware that it is NON refundable I checked out 4 days before my planned departure and lost about $ 2000 when I called, they simply said, sorry we can not refund. I will NEVER reserve through Lowcostholidays from now on. Just be careful.

Stayed at this hotel two years ago and found the hotel to be excellent in accommodations, reception, and location. However, a recent stay proved, unfortunately, that standards had declined. After finding the first room unsatisfactory, the second room was at street level; and thus,we found ourselves contending with all-day and night traffic, pedestrians, and daily, early morning garbage collection and... Just exit via the Tube's Bayswater Station and you're within walking distance to the hotel. The room is spacious and equipped with almost all your needs and wants. The hotel staff members were efficient. Many restaurants in the area. The only complaint will be the too-narrow hallways thus resulting to you hearing noise and footsteps even during the wee-hours of... More

1. Location Close to Bayswater Metro and easy walk to Kensington Gardens. When you walk in to hotel you had to negotiate the barrage of smokers who congregate on the front porch of hotel. This was a daily event. 2. Reception Lovely staff..very polite. 3. Room Room was very small and over heated. Had to organise a portable fan as... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
