Lovely olden days décor style hotel in Central London close to bus, train & underground and couple of minutes walk to the Tower of London. Included breakfast has plenty of choice and the attached pub has pleasant ambience for a drink or pub meal. Other pubs nearby. Coming from overseas this had that old English charm a visitor looks for... More

Nice hotel in the city centre close to Tower Hill underground. As its in the city it busy mid-week and then goes quiet about 8PM Friday night and all weekend so great if you want to get away from the crowds. Great pubs nearby with two Witherspoons and a tacky Bier Keller and a great little pub call the Crutched... More

Dear Gary, what a shame to have missed out on a 5 out of 5 review based on the Carling. Unfortunately there had been a technical issue with one of the other lagers that week which encouraged people to move onto Carling, as a result this sold out ahead of the scheduled Monday delivery. However, that aside I am delighted... More

Came here just for one night to take my girlfriend out for her birthday. We stayed in Room 504 and so were able to have late check out at 13:00 which was absolutely amazing! The room was perfect; came with plenty of storage space, spacious shower and over bath shower, tv, air conditioning and an optional 24 hour room service.... More

We met up with friends for a weekend of sight seeing. Amazed at how close the hotel was to Tower of London, Tower Bridge, The Shard, HMP Belfast and of course the Tower Bridge Pier where we river taxied to Westminster Pier which is only yards from Big Ben, Parliament, Downing Street, Horse Guards and the Rest. On our last... More

Dear Billy and Maxine, it appears the main reason for your visit to London was to see some of the special and historic sites that we have right on our doorstep. I am delighted to see that the location of the Chamberlain allowed you to make the most of these tourist destinations. Thank you for kind words regarding the staff,... More

Dear Michala, this is a fantastic review and is lovely to read. I am so glad that the previous reviews were not reflective of your stay and that the Chamberlain helped to go some way in making the birthday celebrations memorable. Although not a mother and daughter team, the weekend breakfast girls are great and I am glad to read... More

I stayed here over New Year's and this was one of the more reasonably priced (for London) hotels I could find. I had a room with 2 twin beds that was surprisingly spacious with a nice bathroom. Wi-Fi was free from the attached pub Fullers (although sometimes a little spotty). My room rate came with a full English breakfast which... More

Dear Susan, thank you for your review - I am happy to report that we are looking into a wi-fi solution which will be of a high speed nature and will improve this service. I have noted your feedback regarding the specfic item of black pudding within the breakfast and will look into the quality of this product. Kind regards... More

Walking into a pub Hotel and you think it'll be ok at best. It wasn't cheap considering it is a pub essentially but when I got into the Club room I though it was awesome, newly refurbished, Bluetooth dock, huge Tv, nespresso machine, vintage phone, awesome bathroom. I was made up and thought it'd be an easy week in London.... More

Dear majorreview, it is such a shame to read that what could have potentially been an enjoyable week in London was spoiled due to the air conditioning within the room. Having looked into this in detail it appears that the air conditioning abilities were switched over to the winter settings during the abnormally warm December period, it appears with the... More

Dear reviewer. It is a shame to read that after passing the hotel many times your experience once entering was not an enjoyable one. Although I am pleased to read that your wine was replaced when an issue was raised, however it is dissapointing to see that no follow up was put in place beyond this. Thank you for raising... More

I booked this hotel for its location close to Tower Pier for the late return from our New Years Dinner Cruise that finished around 1am. Didn't want to make our way home late night on public transport with my kid with us. For New Years Eve stay in London we do expect the cost of the hotels to shoot up... More

The food in both the pubs and restaurant was very good. The Chamberlain Club was especially enjoyable. Good coffee at breakfast. The room, however, was very cold and dated. There were only 2 outlets and the TV was confusing. Noisy from the tube, lumpy bed. The hallways were like a labyrinth and I got lost several times. A little creepy,... More

Dear Amy, Thank you for taking the time to offer both praise, and constructive feedback regarding your stay with us. The "Chamberlain Club Sandwich" always receives great reviews and I am delighted you also enjoyed this menu item. Likewise thank you for mentioning the coffee - this is unique blend "Brewer St." which is only available at Fuller's establishments. I... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
