I had to cancel a previous booking, but despite having paid using a non-cancellable rate, the hotel allowed me to move my booking rather than me losing the money paid. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, room was lovely and very large by London standards and the bed very comfortable indeed.

As this was bought for my wife and myself I didn't know what to expect, especially as it is not the usual type of place we stay in. We were not disappointed and everything was spot on. From the moment we walked into reception and were able to get to our room early right through to checking out everyone at... More

We recently stayed as a group for my 40th birthday as we had booked to go to a cabaret locally. The hotel could not be more accommodating allowing us an early check in when we arrived, a friendly welcome and local information. When they realised it was my birthday they even arranged a bottle of fizz and 'happy birthday' dessert... More

Our stay was delayed by one day due to our flight being cancelled but the hotel was beyond accommodating. When we finally arrived to the hotel, tired and beyond frustrated from our flight experience, the staff members put us immediately at ease and easily put us "up" for another day because of our flight. All staff members took really great... More

Unfortunalty we didn`checked the restaurant and bar but every evening when we returned home, the bar/reataurand was crouwded. Nothing to hear from that at our room (3rd floor, view into a backyard, not so posh, but quiet). Room was nice, clean; shower/toilet spacious and very clean; Everyday room service (new towels, linen, ect.); Every question at the recepton desk was... More

Dear 001Traveller, it's great to see that your stay was enjoyable and that the daily linen change and the overall standards and cleanliness of the rooms were well received. I'm sorry you did not take the opportunity to sample some of the delights of our attached bar and restaurant, something I hope you manage to do should you stay with... More

I took my second cousin to London for the weekend for her birthday. I found it hard to find a hotel which had separate beds that wa traditional and had a recommended pub. Also need to be near tub station. This didn't disappoint. Perfect. Highly recommend as good size rooms but most of all quiet. Near markets 2 tube stations... More

3rd stay at this hotel, love it. Location is good for tube station (Tower Hill), and Central & district line. Friendly and helpful staff, from reception to breakfast staff. Room was lovely and clean with a lovely bathroom (separate bath and shower). One of the comfiest hotel beds I have slept in in a long time. Even though room overlooked... More

I have stayed in hotels all over London and, despite being one of the cheapest, this is one of my favourites: comfortable large rooms, great room service and windows that open (an increasing rarity!) To top it all off, it is directly opposite my favourite spit & sawdust London pub - the Peacock!

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
