I was on an overnight stay on Business as I needed to be in the London office fairly early. Found this little gem, not to far away from the office or Liverpool Street Station. The staff was friendly an upon arriving. The room has plenty of space, clean and tidy. The only thing I will say all spare power points... More

Dear Natalie, Thank you for this review and specifically for mentioning that you would stay again as this for me is the true representation of an enjoyable visit, made memorable no doubt by the friendly staff you encountered. You raise a very valid point regarding the lack of main plug sockets beside the bed, something that we have now addressed... More

I stayed at this hotel in Feb when I visited my sister and found it very nice. The staff was friendly but not useful enough ( They should go to TA and read about the staff in Hanoi hotels). The room was clean, big enough and there is a plasma screen in every bathroom. The breakfast is not so expensive... More

Dear KLA297, it is great to read through your review as it is not only complimentary, but also constructive. It is interesting to see your points regarding the usefulness of the team members, which I presume revolves around their local knowledge and ability to the extra mile for the guests. This was something that was recognised and I believe is... More

Dear Blondis, first of all let me thank you for the fact that you have given us a landmark and provided us with our 500th tripadvisor review. This is made all the better as it was a 5 out of 5 score. Dear Enzo, praise indeed and great to see that the reception team were readily available to assist - our front office need to act as an information desk as well as providing the check in and check outs. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Warm regards Chris Kerr General Manager More

Clean and tidy hotel with excellent service. Superb breakfast available....best 'black pudding' I've tasted in ages. Well placed for London Underground for onward travel to visit attractions throughout the city.

Dear reviewer. I am pleased to read that the key point to your review is to share your positive experience of our "Fuller's English Breakfast". In my opinion a good breakfast should round off an enjoyable stay and I am happy to read this is the case. The black pudding specifically is created for the only@fullers range, and it executed... So after a rather naff train journey to London we were very pleased to be told our room had been upgraded to Executive Double. The room was stunning and to have a bath and shower in the bathroom was a massive bonus. As stated in other reviews, yes you can hear the distant rumble of the underground but that didn't... More

Dear T D. It is great to see that the upgrade was given to a well deserved guest who by the sounds of things had a fairly unpleasant journey to the hotel. I hope this went some way to turning your weekend into an enjoyable one. I must thank you for not only rating our food but also acknowledging the... More

If you're looking for nice accommodations in a relatively quiet area of London, this is the place. Just blocks from the Tower of London and several underground stations, it's easy to get around. Upon arrival, we were automatically upgraded to a nicer room. The room was clean and spacious enough for the two of us. While the location was close... More

Dear Howard, Thank for taking the time to write a comprehensive account of your stay. It is all in all a pleasant review to read and it seems you enjoyed time with us. What a gem. Modern, clean with friendly, efficient staff. The bar is great and the food lovely. One of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept in and it was quiet. We would stay again if only for the choice of beers in the bar. We did not opt for breakfast as there is a Weatherspoons nearby.

Dear rustymick, thank you for this "superb" review. I am glad to see that our ever changing range of beers and ales really ticked the box for you and that this alone would give you a reason to return. Furthermore it is great to read that you found the hotel to be modern clean and with friendly efficient staff. I... More

Twin bedded room for a solo business trip - nice and clean, comfortable bed. I was awoken during the night by what sounded like a delivery or refuse collection, not sure if this is a regular occurrence, but coupled with the bright light on the outside of the building it did make for an unsettled nights sleep. I didn't eat... More

Dear reviewer, it seems we have just fallen short of what could have been an overall more enjoyable stay. I am sorry to hear that the refuse collection disturbed you, I can only assume they arrived earlier than the expectation, however I am struggling to establish which night this was from your review. Therefore if you would be as kind... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
