We went with friends and got a great weekend deal through their own website, we were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room and it's amenities, we booked the club room which was the cheapest they do, and was so shocked to find, not only did it have a fridge in the room but also supplied bathrobes, and... Like the title says, the best place about this hotel is its location. It is close to two tube stations - Aldgate on circle line and Tower hill on District line. It is very convenient to get to and from Heathrow; take the Heathrow express to Paddington, then circle / district line to Aldgate station. Both the tube stations and... More

Returning to the Chamberlain after a four-year absence I was pleased to see that on the face of it, little had changed. Having had a very enjoyable stay then I am pleased to report that we had a very enjoyable stay on this occasion too. We had a freshly refurbished double room at the rear of the hotel on the... More

We arrived at the hotel about 7pm on Friday 13th February 2015,to the Chamberlain hotel, which is situated about 5 minutes walk to the tower of London and tower bridge. And immediately received a free upgrade of our room, which after 5 hours on train and tube travel was very welcoming when we walked past the lively looking bar,we thought that looks ok.... I've stayed here a couple of times now; I work in the city and stay over one night a week. It is always a pleasure to stay at the Chamberlain - nice staff, clean, comfortable rooms - I always get a good night's sleep - and a really good breakfast. Highly Recommended!

I am frequently staying at this hotel when over for business in London. It actually gives me the home away from home experience which I don't get in the other hotels in London City. Location is excellent, walking distance to the DLR (straight from London City Airport), underground, Tower Bridge and the majority of City business location. The hotel itself... More

Stayed Friday to Monday. This hotel is in the eye of the storm, being right in the City of London, making it a quiet and tranquil place at the weekends with one of the worlds finance districts all around it closed down until Monday! The Chamberlain is a little gem. We got a great deal on-line so upgraded to a... More

We didn't stay here but we had two meals here! The food was fantastic both times. We highly recommend the menu! My only niggle was that one of the girls serving the bar and the food had long hair not tied back and kept touching her hair, face and nose and biting her fingers between serving without washing her hands.... I stayed at the hotel with my boyfriend for a brief two day trip and I couldnt be happier. We were given a very lovely room, and the staff were courteous and helpful. Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
