I arrived at the hotel rather late. The check in was fast and we received drink vouchers because we had to use the staff lift as the guests lift was out of order. The service was great during the entire stay. The room was very clean and the bed was SO comfortable! There was a Nespresso coffee machine in the... More

The hotel location is very good for holiday and business travelers. The hotel is a short walk away from Lloyd's and other major insurers and intermediaries. For tourists, it is a short walk away from the Tower of London and is within easy walking distance from the London underground railway. The rooms have all the amenities that a business traveler... We both really enjoyed our stay here. The room and facilities were excellent, the staff were very helpful and the hotel is in a great location very close to two underground stations and lots of attractions. We were also given free drinks at the hotel bar as an apology for the main lift being out of service while we were... More

Great location only three mins walk from Aldgate tube station (circle/Hammersmith Line), staff are polite with a warm reception upon check in. Have to use the staff lift to bedroom as the guest lift under renovation, and hotel offered a complimentary drink at the bar (nice touch). Room recently refurbished & clean, bathroom brand new with a walk in shower... More

First off, the location was excellent, especially for the activities that we had planned. We had convenient access to the Underground station, even with construction taking place at the station. The room was so newly decorated that it looked brand new, almost like we were the first guests to stay there! The room was clean. The decor was excellent and... More

We arrived at this hotel direct from the airport off a long flight from Singapore. The building and environs were lovely, old London, in an area that felt safe and friendly. At reception we were warmly welcomed by a lovely Irish girl who was both bubbly and helpful. The room was 'fantastic' Grand, roomy, clean with a huge bathroom with... More

We normally stay in the centre of London but tried the Chamberlain for a change of scene. We were very pleased with the choice. Location fine, 2 minutes from Aldgate tube station. Staff very welcoming and professional. Room was excellent. Appeared to be recently refurbished ,spacious and stylish. We asked to move rooms as we could hear some traffic noise... More

Stayed in the Chamberlain a number of time and is a pleasant experience each time though not for your wallet. The bar next door is a fullers and good for dinner and a drink. Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
