My wife and I stayed here for a weekend getaway from Cambridge. Hotels.com was running a deal for £70 for a night. We had a great time. Room was very spacious and modern with a flat screen TV, a posh minibar, and comfortable bed. The staff was very accomodating. In terms of location to public transportation, I tried to take... More

The first impression of the City Inn was fantastic. Right in the heart of Westminster, a short walk from Houses of Parliament and London Eye as well as being located near 2 tube stations (Pimlico and Vauxhall). The room was really nice, spacious and modern with all that you would need, Flat Screen TV, DVD Player, CD Player, Tea/Cofee, and... More

Read loads of reviews of hotels in London and finally decided to stay at the City Inn as it had consistently good reviews and wasn't overpriced. We paid £109 for our room and it was worth it. The hotel is in an excellent location - the tube station Pimlico is within 5-10 minutes walk and 10 minute walk to the... More

We have just arrived home from 2 nights at this hotel and I have to agree with other reviews; its actually very good! We booked directly with the hotel for a standard room at £78 which, considering it was a London hotel, we felt to be pretty good. I also decided to book a table at the restaurant (City Cafe)... We stayed here in October 2005 for three nights and again in January 2006 for one night and it was lovely. Maybe a little impersonal and corporate on decor, our son's room was identical to ours on another floor and on our second visit the room was also identical but it was smart and well decorated and the breakfast was... For London this should be your option Nr. 1. The location is very good, the hotel really new and well equipped. And quiet! And we got the night for 78 pound per room (weekend/March/no breakfast/booked one month in advance). This is really very, very, very pricy for London and this location. What I really liked was the very good homepage.... More

A modern hotel with well equipped rooms and suites. Staff are very attentive and courteous. The restaurant is extremely good. Limited underground parking available. Within congestion zone but the concierge will get your ticket for you. Convenient for riverside walks, cabs or buses to the West End and the Tate Gallery is just around the corner.

Stayed here for two nights in March, good standard of accomodation. Handy Bus link just up the road from the Hotel (Bus No88) linking to Picadilly /Oxford Street. Nice well decorated rooms. Staff were friendly and courteous. Limited Draft Beers in the Bar & decor a bit pretentious I would recommend this hotel and I would stay here again.

Having stayed in London often we are never too optimistic about the level of decor or service we will receive. How refreshing then to stay here. The friendly staff cannot do enough to ensure that you have a pleasant stay and they do it all with a smile on their face! This modern contemporary hotel has paid attention to all... More

Stayed at the City Inn for our first three nights in London. Very nice, very clean, room was very small, but for the price, we were happy. The staff was extremely accomodating. Walkable to Buckinham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Parliament, Big Ben, Tate Britain. The restaurant was excellent. We would stay at the City Inn again. Only negative besides room size... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise a place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
