Ideal for Kings Cross and St Pancras. Rooms had a shower/loo/sink and tea/coffee making facilities & small TV. Whilst compact it was clean and for London was good value. Might be a bit claustrophopic for a longer stay. Very good breakfast. Clean and staff were efficient and helpful

Arrived later in the evening and eventually made our way though the maze of passages and stairs to our room. It was clean and adequate with an en suite bathroom, but it was cozy to say the least. The value for the area was pretty decent since we were headed out early the next morning on the first Eurostar departure.... More

I booked this hotel then read the trip advisor reports and became worried that my experience in London would be spoiled. I had booked for 4 nights in a twin room with ensuite. A friend booked the single room with shower. A shared wc was in the hall with the single room. We had no reason to worry. We were... More

stayed two nights in this hotel, the room was very tiny and unfortunately near a smoke door so there was banging most of the night, pity there wasnt a common room to sit as bedroom was tiny. the breakfast was sufficient but you really needed to be in the dining room early otherwise you had to fight for a seat,... Montana Excel is in a great location for exploring London. The rooms are tiny (which is pretty universal in London), but clean. Basic TV was provided, as were tea and coffee facilities (polysterene cups). No complaints about service, check in was easy, happy for us to leave our bags till our flight out. Breakfast was predominantly hot - baked beans,... More

I stayed at the Montana Hotel for 6 days, the single room was good for what you get for $75 in London. It was clean, the linen was spotless and the heating good. The staff were mostly very nice and made you feel welcome, the super-fast WiFi a plus. The downside was the breakfast, a buffet in a Bay- Mari... More

You get what you pay for - limited service and tiny rooms, but you do have a correct breakfast (again for the price) and free-wifi - all hotels in that neighbourhood and that price range don't necessarily have this. Rooms and linen are clean.

This is a no-frills hotel near to Kings Cross and Bloomsbury, which for me is extra convenient for short stopovers in London. However, Bloomsbury is full of tiny, private, cheap hotels in a similar price range to the Montana Excel, and having stayed in a few of them, there are some things which let the Montana down. Positives are free... More
