I stayed with my family for 3 nights in August. The hotel is cheap in the context of London but relatively dear in general. Obviously you should expect the very basics when staying in the Athena as it is no frills, functional, inexpensive(for the area) accommodation. Our stay was fine overall. We booked a roon for three and were mistakenly... More

We booked a triple room for 2 nights, first night our room was not available but were given 2 doubles which was not so bad and the next day we were given a lovely large room for 5 persons very nicely decorated and new clean large bathroom and a nice large flat screen tv, bed sheets and towels all very... Staying alone for business and stayed in a single room (no.9) Small but not too cramped room with adequate facilities, good shower and fairly comfortable bed. Average service at check-in and over breakfast (went for the Full English which again was adequate). Good location and value for money, room could have done with a lick of paint in the bathroom... Stayed here after a day @ Lord's.arrived late and left early so cannot comment on anything other the room Clean, and functional rather than luxurious but at the price i paid i'd be churlish to find major fault. View (room 25) was non existent but see previous comment re arrival/departure Bathroom is again functional and clean though somewhat cramped(but again, clever... More

Nice hotel, situated 4 minutes walking from Paddington Station in an quit street. Our familyroom (nr. 2) was nice, double bed, single bed and a bunkbed, tea and coffeefacilities, one chair, writingtable, closet, mirror and flatscreen TV. Nice and clean bathroom (great shower, double washbasin, toilet, towels). Breakfast: tea, coffee, orange juice, milk, cereals, toast (as much as you want),... More

We stayed 3 nights in a family room with our two children. The room was warm and clean, the staff were friendly and attentive and the location was perfect. We were within easy walking distance of Hyde Park and Marble Arch, and on several bus routes (more fun than the underground, which is also very near). The breakfast was good.... More

Myself and my parents stayed here in June 2011 and I can say it was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was tiny, the wardrobe and safe were broken in the room, the shower was leaky and made loud noises during the night. The staff were rude and unhelpful and seemed uninterested in doing... We stayed at this hotel on 14th and 15th Feb 2014 for valentines weekend, now let me start with the pro's.... Great location 5 min walk from Paddington station and no more than a 30 min walk from royal Albert Hall, natural/science museums and harrods, cheap for the area, comfortable room with basic amenities. Cons.... Unprofessional staff the day receptionist... More

My daughter and i shared a twin room here and agree with other reviewers about it being close to paddington station and around a 10 minute walk to oxford street ☺️ My only complaint would be the bath towels supplied are small ! the staff are friendly and attentive and because we catching our train late they let us leave...
