This is my second time staying here and I'm still very impressed with the cleanliness and friendly service. This time they even remembered my wake-up call. Furthermore, they booked me back into my old room, a double bonus! If you want a city view then book 617 or 619. I prefer 619 as it is not directly on an external... More

This was my fourth visit and the service levels remain first rate. Several staff members went out of their way to do that little bit extra that is the difference between doing a job and actually caring. Good facilities good service good location I still think 16 odd £ for breakfast is a little ott, but I will continue to... More

We stayed in a family room - a normal double bed and a double sofa bed - cosy but adequate for the three nights we were there. Recommendation: a few more coat hangers wouldn't go amiss! We had a view of The Shard (and the car park). The room was quiet, warm and clean. We were offered the breakfast for... More

Always use Novotel when travelling around the UK but very disappointed this time. Hotel clean and tidy and staff very friendly but the room itself was a let down...glad we only paid what we did as the rack rate of £420 for a night would have been an absolute rip off. Room tired and at night felt like a sauna... More

A really convenient hotel for walking around and getting the best of London.very welcoming and helpful hotel. Both my daughters are gluten free and although not obviously displayed for breakfast they were very keen to help.

Planet 21 is the environmental programme of the Novotel London. I did not really expect this included large savings on the heating as for the rate paid I imagined the hotel could afford buying some fuel. The room was cold and even by requesting 30°C the system did not even react. In addition the room’s furniture and equipment (exect for... More

This is a premium Novotel venue and charges around £250 a night including breakfast. The venue is tidy, clean, well staffed and professional, catering to business and private individuals. It has good views as the pictures show you, but only if you are in a limited number of rooms on the southside above a certain floor. My stay was on... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
