I stayed at this hotel after another in the area failed to honour my booking. It was a last minute choice and I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. The front door was secure and you are given a fob to get in and out. The receptionist was polite and welcoming. The room I was given was... More

Having read other reviews was a bit worried when we booked, we only stayed for1 night, on arrival 1st impressions were good polite receptionist, off we went right to the 'top' room 28, good for a leg workout, was even worse later in the evening after a couple of drinks, but we laughed all the way up, the room was... I needed a hotel for one night's work related trip to London and searches came up with Mentone as an option close to both king's Cross station, and my work venue for the day at an extremely reasonable price; £90 inc breakfast. I arrived a little early, before 1400hrs, but was given a key without fuss by an efficient, if... More

This hotel is nestled in a long row of other B&B type hotels, they are pretty similar, although prices vary. The room I stayed in was okay, newly refurbished. The important thing for me as a traveller is a deccent shower and shave each morning, sadly both days there was no hot water. At 07:00am each day an alarm, like... More

London is an expensive place and it's difficult to find nice hotels in the centre for a reasonable price. I stayed here one night before an early train departure from Euston, and was happy with the experience. The hotel is in a quiet(ish) side street and is obviously converted townhouses rather than purpose built - so there's no lift and... More

My stay at Mentone for a week was thoroughly enjoyable! The staff were very attentive and the location so close to universities, where bulk of my work was. Definitely getting back there when in UK and also recommended to others. Thanks Mentone!

Nice quiet property away from busy street in prime location with nice greenery around.Supposed to be a heritage building so they cant alter to accommodate an elevator. So try to get rooms in lower floors if you dont like using stairs.Otherwise a very nice property to stay with good breakfast also.Surrounded by lots of restaurants also.

Stayed here for one night while exploring London. Easy to find, room was clean, bed comfortable and very quiet. It may have helped that it was a Tuesday but we weren't disturbed by any noise. The breakfast was good and fresh cooked. Would definitely consider staying here again, such a good central location to explore London from.

Stayed here for 1 night. Room 28 on top floor. No lift so lots of steep stairs to negotiate. Stayed in a twin room which was fine. Beds comfortable but no heating on in room. Didn't help that the window didn't close properly. Shower struggled to cope with others being run at the same time. Walls are paper thin as... More

I guess I should start with the best part of my stay but struggling to decide which part that was. Perhaps you can assist me. Was it: 1. The fact that luggage left insecure and available for anyone to walk away with? 2. The long a daunting walk up to my "loft room"? 3. The spare bed blocking the emergency... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
