I stayed here with my son on a short visit to London. The Mentone was ideally located for us. Very close to the train station, and to where we needed to visit. The price was cheap (for London) - so I was a little apprehensive about it. All was fine. Service was good, friendly. The room we had was right... More

As well as being very reasonably priced for a London hotel, this is a very welcoming establishment. From the welcome on arrival, this is a pleasant hotel with the staff trying to please you. I booked a single room but was given a quad room as it was available meaning I had loads of room which was very welcome. The... More

Efficient, friendly welcome. My room was a single on the first floor. It's compact, but adequate. Good comfortable clean bed, decent bathroom, TV, kettle, hair dryer, etc; ie all you need. Location is fairly quiet for London, you can hear the tube trains below but it's not going to disturb your sleep, at least it didn't mine. English breakfast was... More

Stayed in a twin room in the basement. Very clean room, newly decorated with new bathroom too. Staff were very friendly and helpful - allowing to leave luggage before we checked in and afterwards. Breakfast was good too. Only negative was the noise from the housekeeping cupboard which was next door to our room - not that it bothered us... More

We travelled over to watch the footy. Had 4 staying in the Attic at the top of the house. Great location, great value for money. Close to Kings Cross or Russell Square. Hotel is comfortable, clean and has an excellent breakfast. Would recommend and return.

Lovely room for the price paid. Building bit scruffy from outside but inside very clean. Hotel was very quiet. Comfortable bed. Decent breakfast. Walking distance (10-15 mins or so) to Kings Cross and Euston.

For the cost I was not expecting much. Great location if you are happy with tube or enjoy walking. Took 10 minutes from Kings Cross to walk to. Secure access for main entrance which is nice when staying alone as I was. Prompt friendly check in, Room exactly as described. A small single which benefited from a sash window that... More

Having stayed at a number of central hotels in London it is rare to get good value and comfortable at the same time. Hotel Mentone impressed from arrival. The receptionist was pleasant and welcoming. The room was well appointed and perfectly comfortable. We had a good night's sleep and had an excellent cooked breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
