This must be the worst hotel we have ever stayed in..where do i start? very abrupt lady on reception..gave us our keys and told us our room was upstairs but failed to tell us it was up 5 flights of stairs right at the top of the building..not good when you have bad legs..room was not big enough to swing... I struggled with this rating, as I hate to give poor reviews and the desk man was very friendly and helpful. But overall there were just too many issues with the hotel and for the amount of money paid it was ridiculous (yes, I know it's London and rooms are high, but if we had paid less I would have... Within walking distance of St Pancras station this is an excellently located hotel and the helpful reception staff allowed us to drop off our bags before check in time and leave them after checkout until it was time for our train. Our room was surprisingly roomy for a reasonably priced London hotel and was very bright, painted white and with... More

Perfect for the price, reception staff a bit grumpy but breakfast staff very friendly. Good breakfast better than a lot of chain hotels The room was good but a little cramped with the single bed in as well as the double, would have been a squeeze if I hadn't been on my own!

Well situated between 3 subway stations, but given the pricec the room was really small, the shower did not work properly and there was no WIFI although it was promised. Breakfast came with canned tomatoes and canned fruit. Nothing fresh.

The good: clean room, good housekeeping, friendly people, especially the breakfast crew. The bad: 1. The door to my room would not lock, and wasn't fixed until 36 hours after I informed the front desk. 2. The shower could be adjusted only for scaldingly hot or freezing cold water. I managed to take very short showers by continually turning the... More

Myself and my husband-to-be needed a place to stay for one night in London, after arriving at 10:30pm in Euston Station. The Mentone Hotel was perfect. Only a 10 minute walk from the station, the room was adequate and very very clean, especially the bathroom. We had read a lot of reviews about the poor hot water condition of the... More

Stayed there for two days on route to Paris; It was well up to expectation. Staff members were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the bed really comfortable. The breakfast service was efficient and the food was very good. what more do you need?! Would definitely stay there again.

Budget hotels in London are rather of a muchness. This one is OK. I had a tiny single room. It had: bed, TV, small dresser. The room was too small for an end table, and the over-bed lamp was too feeble to read by. There is an adequate ensuite bathroom with a shower (no tub), unfortunately with pretty inadequate water... Stayed here before and it came up to my expectations. Comfortable room and good breakfast. My room was spacious and I had a television with all the usual freeview channels. Bed was very comfortable also.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
