Like all London hotels, the Mentone is too expensive for what it offers. So, what does it offer? Location is pretty good, close to the British Museum and on the pleasant surrounds of Cartwright Gardens - but beware, this is close to unviersity accommodation and a couple of (good) pubs, so be prepared for late night revellry and noise if... Fair enough, hotels in London are generally over priced, but this is just taking the piss. 80£ a night for a box-sized room? That is just not on. I usually stay in hotels (Mercure, Ibis, HI etc.) priced at some 100-140£ a night and thought I'd try a budget hotel to save a bit of money. If cleanliness, sleep quality... More

We stayed there, sorry we endured, three days at this hotel in August 2014. Good things....ummmm....it was clean and the location was good for Russell Square underground station, that's about all. The first room we had was smaller than the bathroom we have at home, barely big enough to get a double bed in, no closet, no a/c and the... More

A very clean, accessible and excellent quality hotel - the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was very good, and the rooms very comfortable. What more could you want! Excellent value for money, and plenty of good pubs nearby.

I booked the single room here for a couple of nights, which was very small, with old-fashioned decor, but I wasn't expecting anything fancy for the price I paid. Checking in and out were very quick and easy, and the street it's on is pretty and feels safe. Good choice for a short stopover.

We stayed at the Mentone for 2 nights 28-30 July. Our room was comfortable, clean, nice deep bath and quiet. The staff were friendly, good breakfast with lots of choice. It's a 15 minute walk through Bloomsbury and Holborn to the theatres and bars of the west end, with lots of nice pubs along the way.

We stayed here for two nights and have no complaints. We understood from the start that this was a pedestrian sort of small hotel. The room was small and the bathroom was very small, but it was clean and the bed was crisp and comfortable. Breakfast was very nice and the staff were great. The day we checked out they... More

Stopped here for 1 night. It is in a great location, and an easy 30 minute walk to Covent Garden and close to Euston and St Pancras. It is also very good value for money for London and includes breakfast which is very good, although a little rushed and in quite a small room in the basement. The rooms are... More

Hotel is in perfect location for our needs close to StPancras trainstation and to British library. We stayed at two rooms, first 3 nights at the top floor - about 50 steps, nice view, a bit small room for 3, but was OK. The other room was on ground floor and rather nice and OK as well. Full English breakfast... More
