Perfect for the price, reception staff a bit grumpy but breakfast staff very friendly. Good breakfast better than a lot of chain hotels The room was good but a little cramped with the single bed in as well as the double, would have been a squeeze if I hadn't been on my own!

Well situated between 3 subway stations, but given the pricec the room was really small, the shower did not work properly and there was no WIFI although it was promised. Breakfast came with canned tomatoes and canned fruit. Nothing fresh.

The good: clean room, good housekeeping, friendly people, especially the breakfast crew. The bad: 1. The door to my room would not lock, and wasn't fixed until 36 hours after I informed the front desk. 2. The shower could be adjusted only for scaldingly hot or freezing cold water. I managed to take very short showers by continually turning the... More

Myself and my husband-to-be needed a place to stay for one night in London, after arriving at 10:30pm in Euston Station. The Mentone Hotel was perfect. Only a 10 minute walk from the station, the room was adequate and very very clean, especially the bathroom. We had read a lot of reviews about the poor hot water condition of the... More

Stayed there for two days on route to Paris; It was well up to expectation. Staff members were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the bed really comfortable. The breakfast service was efficient and the food was very good. what more do you need?! Would definitely stay there again.

Budget hotels in London are rather of a muchness. This one is OK. I had a tiny single room. It had: bed, TV, small dresser. The room was too small for an end table, and the over-bed lamp was too feeble to read by. There is an adequate ensuite bathroom with a shower (no tub), unfortunately with pretty inadequate water... Stayed here before and it came up to my expectations. Comfortable room and good breakfast. My room was spacious and I had a television with all the usual freeview channels. Bed was very comfortable also.

I first stayed at the Mentone Hotel (then the Mentone B&B) on my very first trip to England in 1979. Subsequently stayed one night in 1999. Since that time, it's gone a bit upmarket, and is now a small hotel and all of the rooms have ensuites. There are several good things about this hotel: excellent location (very close to... More

I stayed at this hotel after another in the area failed to honour my booking. It was a last minute choice and I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. The front door was secure and you are given a fob to get in and out. The receptionist was polite and welcoming. The room I was given was... More

Having read other reviews was a bit worried when we booked, we only stayed for1 night, on arrival 1st impressions were good polite receptionist, off we went right to the 'top' room 28, good for a leg workout, was even worse later in the evening after a couple of drinks, but we laughed all the way up, the room was... Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
