I booked a single room at quite short notice and was very satisfied with what I found. Although the room was very small, it had everything I required, including ensuite shower room and wardrobe. It was in a good area, just a short walk from Paddington Station and I got an excellent night's sleep. The room was clean with a... More

The temperamental elevator, cramped public areas, corridors and room, lack of sufficient power points, missing bathroom fixtures, stuffy, poorly ventilated, noisy room and terrible value for money (even at London's rip-off rates) make the Gresham a hotel to avoid. There are other hotels nearby that look far 'fresher' and are closer to Paddington station.

Where do I begin? Let's start with the surly, sullen, unhelpful staff which we encountered even before seeing long rips in the shabby "lobby" carpet. Too late to find another hotel, we were stuck. Our room was rundown, beds were dreadfully lumpy with sunken mattresses and creaked loudly with every movement. The toilet only flushed on occasion. When we asked... More

A decent hotel with a good location. Friendly and helpful staff. Disappointed to find that the free wifi was only available in the lobby. This was really inconvenient when we where trying to plan next days event. I would go again, if Internet was made available in the rooms.

Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do it. I did not have high expectations, but chose this for the proximity to Hyde Park and Paddington station, and for its free wifi. Well, the wifi really is so non-functional that they basically don't have any so put that out of your head right now. But it is also uncomfortable and... More

Short weekend break, couldn't get booked into our previous hotel. Had rung through prior to arrival stating that were a little concerned after reading reviews and could we have a decent sized room with natural light. From the exterior it looks relatively respectable and the young Eastern European receptionist seemed pleasant enough. No one showed up to the room, the... More

Staff don't seem particularly bothered that you are staying with them I had a mattress on my bed that was about 5 years past its sell-by date; you could really feel the springs in your back - it was so uncomfortable. Breakfast was basic but in truth I wasn't expecting great standards so I wasn't too bothered about this. I... More

Hotel location is really noticeable, it is very near to Paddington station which you can go through it to nearly all locations in London with no much effort. Also the hotel is very near to a hyde park gate (6-7 mins walking) that contains play ground for kids, this is a great feature that after having a long day out... More

I stayed here last week on business. The hotel is in a great location close to Paddington Tube Station. The room was quite small but more than adequate for my requirements, washing and sleeping. The bed linen was clean and extremely comfortable. The towels were of a decent quality, the only problem was that on the last morning of my... More

In spite of unhelpful negative reviews we found the Gresham a clean comfortable hotel with helpful staff. Our room was small but adequate for our needs. We stayed for two nights and easily walked into central london
