We had booked a double room as it was first night of our honeymoon. Told this wasn't available and supposedly gave us a bigger twin. It was tiny. The heating was constantly on high in the bathroom and it was like a sauna. When we explained this and that it was our honeymoon we were rudely told what did we... More

Very nice hotel. Located a few minutes from kings cross. Small rooms but modern and clean. Friendly staff great breakfast. We searched for similar hotels nearby. But the California was very reasonably priced for it location.

This hotel is a great little find. A 2-minute walk to King's Cross St Pancras station, it was a safe well-lit walk even at night. The hotel does not have a lift but that is clear from the reviews. The room was small but adequate for 3 people, stylishly designed with tea/coffee making facilities and a balcony off the bathroom,... More

I was very satisfied with the location, only a two minute walk away from the King's Cross station, and a 7 minute train ride away from Piccadilly Circus. Getting a bit away from the (very) central London, but still being very "close" will save you a lot of cash. The rooms were of average London size, but were clean and... More

Very nice, warm, old hotel, in a premium location. Nice staff but not the best. Food is average. Close to train station and city center. Very clean and tidy. Quite small rooms. A bit diffecult to reach it as it is not in a main road. I recommend it to all.

Located across the road from Kings Cross and St Pancras stations but down a side street so avoiding traffic noise. Allocated a very large family room with a double, two singles and bunks. Plenty of space for a family or group of 6. Adequate bathroom with bath tub and shower over. Toiletries provided. Tea and coffee making facilities. Clean and... More

I stayed 3 days. I rang reception one day before departure to ask for a quiet room, shower and bathroom with a sink which should come as standard. The girl on the phone sounded surprised of my requests but promised an ensuit bathroom. Upon arrival, I was told I had to wait until 2pm to check in, and was given... More

The organiser of an event had booked this hotel for me. Some of the things I was unhappy about were things that would not have bothered me on a tourist visit, but I just needed a place to prepare myself to speak at a public event, so please read these comments in that context. First, something had gone wrong with... More

Checkin into the hotel with its trendy suitcase desk brought a smile to visitors. The small bar was decent enough and distinctively decorated. The rooms are small, the bed was metal framed and mattress thin and lumpy. The doors and walls are thin and I was woken up at 2am by guests going to their rooms. Breakfast was OK. The... More

Stayed at this hotel last week on business courtesy of my companies Hotel Booking Service. As I was only staying overnight, I was happy with the small twin room I was given (Room 202) which faced the main road. The stairwell was bit narrow but with an overnight bag was no hassle. The room was well decorated and supplied, the bed... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
