We stayed here for 10 nights in October 2014 as a young couple from Australia. Perfect location - a 3 minute walk from Kings Cross St Pancras (which easily allowed us to train to anywhere). Restaurants and nightlife very nearby (within 5 mins walking). The rooms were basic but nice. Wifi worked perfectly! Breakfast was good - it is not... More

Conveniently located within walking distance of kings cross and Euston stations. The family room was clean but squashed for 4 people and the bathroom was essentially a cupboard. The dining room was not large enough to cater for the guests who had to sit on the stairs waiting for space to become available for breakfast.

The hotel is in a fantastic location and great for the price. It's a minutes walk from the closest entry to kings cross station which is very ideal to travel anywhere in London. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. Hotel is clean, secure and warm but has basic amenities - for the price it's what you would expect.... More

This was my second stay at MacDonald Hotel. A friend and I had spent 4 nights there in December 2010 upon a friend's suggestion. I booked again with my mother, as we couldn't find the same affordable quality in London. The location is great, close to King's Cross and St Pancras International, near the British Library and at walking distance... More

I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in London w/o needing a suite. The hotel is close to King's Cross/St. Pankras so the city is easily accessible. And with the Piccadilly you have direct connection to Heathrow. The rooms are not for being lived in but to rest and sleep. The proprietor is extremely friendly and helpful.

We used McDonald Hotel the night before taking Eurostar as it is really close to St Pancras. We had selected it as it seemed on other reviews to be the best mix of low price and OK hotel. We can confirm it was indeed this. We had helpful reception staff and the room was shabby but clean and comfortable. It... More

This is a budget hotel & in London so although it was £65 per room a night this is good value for the Capital. 3* anywhere else. The chap on the reception was very welcoming. We had room 305 on the top floor overlooking the park, the room was not a bad size, basic, no draw space & a sink,... More

Cheap and clean , we stayed one night and had a very nice breakfast next day , would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay , staff helpful and pleasant only downfall is the noise from the toilet which was right next to our room

All in all, I would give this hotel a miss. While not everything at MacDonald Hotel sucks, on average it is well below average at highly inflated prices. What MacDonald Hotel has going for it is a great location. Located a mere 5 minute walk from Kings Cross / St. Pancreas stations, you'd be hard pressed to find a more... More

What a load of belly ache. Of all the bad reviews we have had this one must take the prize as best whinger. After reading your review several times I could not see how any of your comments could substantiate such a sensation grabbing headline. I completely disagree that we are astronomically priced. London is expensive but also very competitive.... More

The room was awesome cozy, with a good bathroom, had a tv and wifi connection. It was also very clean (the whole hotel was), and towels changed everyday. Breakfast was good. the location was perfect just a two minute walk from the Kings Cross underground and St Pancrass International Rail station that made it easy for us that went to... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
