I picked this hotel as it was close to Kings Cross Station. Price at £80 per night is average for the area. Very tired decor, looks like it could do with a major renovation, but as it seems to be constantly full, I guess that's not going to happen anytime soon. Room was very small and spartan, not very welcoming.... More

I found this hotel through recommendation by Fair Way Hotel London. Macdonalds Hotel was exemplary. Rooms are small but very clean and warm. Staff are very helpful especially the guy on reception who was able to advise on routes and trains. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who just needs a base whilst staying in London. It is ideally... More

The Hotel MacDonald is superbly well situated: just 100 meters from the main exits of King's Cross/St. Pancras tube station. There are good places to eat and shop in the station, and this is one of the main hubs of London transportation, so everything is just some tube stops away. If you are a budget-minded traveler, such as myself, the... More

Stayed here the night before a family trip to Disneyland Paris. Location was perfect for Eurostar, more or less roll out of bed to St Pancras station. Don't get me wrong the rooms are very basic and a little dated, however from the minute we walked in, we were greeted with a warm smile and a friendly face - we... More

Whilst the amenities at this hotel are fairly basic our stay here was enjoyable. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was small but comfortable and clean with a small but adequate en suite. Breakfast was tasty and there was a good variety of choice. As a budget hotel it is one I would definitely stay at again.... More

We stayed here for 10 nights in October 2014 as a young couple from Australia. Perfect location - a 3 minute walk from Kings Cross St Pancras (which easily allowed us to train to anywhere). Restaurants and nightlife very nearby (within 5 mins walking). The rooms were basic but nice. Wifi worked perfectly! Breakfast was good - it is not... More

Conveniently located within walking distance of kings cross and Euston stations. The family room was clean but squashed for 4 people and the bathroom was essentially a cupboard. The dining room was not large enough to cater for the guests who had to sit on the stairs waiting for space to become available for breakfast.

The hotel is in a fantastic location and great for the price. It's a minutes walk from the closest entry to kings cross station which is very ideal to travel anywhere in London. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. Hotel is clean, secure and warm but has basic amenities - for the price it's what you would expect.... More

This was my second stay at MacDonald Hotel. A friend and I had spent 4 nights there in December 2010 upon a friend's suggestion. I booked again with my mother, as we couldn't find the same affordable quality in London. The location is great, close to King's Cross and St Pancras International, near the British Library and at walking distance... More

I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in London w/o needing a suite. The hotel is close to King's Cross/St. Pankras so the city is easily accessible. And with the Piccadilly you have direct connection to Heathrow. The rooms are not for being lived in but to rest and sleep. The proprietor is extremely friendly and helpful.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
