I wanted to give it 3.5 out of 5 but I can't. The hotel is 2 or 3 minutes walk from Kings Cross/St Pancras, so ideal for a short stay. The check in is efficient and friendly. It is typical of many small hotels around London, and I got what I was expecting. The corridors and stairways are narrow, and... More

This guest house could have so much potential were it not for management's obvious focus on obtaining maximum benefit for miniscule effort. We booked our room at MacDonald Hotel rather blindly as we were not at all familiar with the area. They have a good Internet presence and the booking process was smooth. We did have a phone conversation with... More

I would stay there again, but think there is room for improvement. The shower curtain was very rusty. Also, my room had a do not smoke sign, but the room had been smoked in for sure. After a minute or two it was not an issue. The breakfast was fine and the staff were glad to provide seconds. When people... More

I always choose this hotel when I'm in London. Location x price x cleanliness x breakfast - unbeatable. Rooms are small, but cozy and you have everything you need for few nights in London. Once we got room next to shared toilet. If you have a chance, try to change it. It's not very pleasant to hear someone's nature calling,... More

We decided to book at the Mac Donald hotel only after reading all the positive reviews on trip advisor. We believed it should merit a shot especially being owned by Maltese and as such wanted to give all our support and we couldn't be happier. Booking was made via e-mail since I could not find any available rooms for three... More

Wifi, location and clean are my general top needs and this place has them. Plus there's a kettle in the room, tv, and hot breakfast. Great value for money. My room room on the front was small, big enough for one and pretty quiet. I recommend the place.

Wonderful spot, clean and quiet. The rooms may be sparse but it really is a great value for your money. Savior, at the front desk, is friendly, hardworking and very helpful. A simple request of more towels or an extra pillow were met with a quick efficiency. The Wi Fi worked perfectly and never was an issue. Breakfast was simple... More

Was put in this hotel while on a course in London and it did exactly what I needed. The room was quite small but had enough space for 2 nights for one and the bed was comfy. The restaurant served a reasonable english breakfast in the morning and the hotel staff were very nice. Hotel is very conveniently located a... More

We booked the hotel as the location was great and so was the price. When we got there, everything was really nice - the room was small, but everything necessary was in there, so no complaints. They also let us leave the bags there the next day, which was fantastic. My only comment would be on the breakfast, as I... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
