Stayed 2 nights in July 2014 Pros: You can practically throw a football and hit St Pancras train station & Kings Cross Underground both directly down street. Quaint, quiet park directly opposite. Free street parking evening until 0830. Breakfast was simple (yogurt if requested. Beans, bacon, sausage, toast, 2 jams, coffee or tea, OJ and eggs cooked fried, scrambled or... More

First 2 nights stayed on 2nd floor facing park. It was very hot even with fan so having window open was noisy. Last night stayed on 3rd floor at back. Much quieter and separate bathroom was not a problem. Granny could manage the climb and walk to the station with her luggage. The front attendant was very helpful. Breakfast was... More

If you want to stay in central London for a rock-bottom rate and are tolerant of low standards of comfort then this hotel is a bargain. The location is excellent, a quiet square a stone's throw from King's Cross station. The bedrooms are tiny, the beds quite hard and the shower/WC usually in the corridor, shared with other guests. This... More

My wife, 17yo son and I stayed in a triple room at the Macdonald for 6 nights. Overall, I was very pleased. The room was very small, but clean and well-kept. It was a perfect base for us to spend our days sight-seeing. The location was great for sight-seeing, as the hotel is only a block from the Kings Cross... More

I know this is a class of a very budget friendly hotel. And I booked it knowing that, but they do need some serious improvements. The major complaint we have are the beds. Beds in the UK are a lot smaller then the sizes we are used to in Canada. The twin beds are only about 30" wide and not... More

Great location near to Kings Cross underground and walking distance (20 minutes ) for those arriving by train to Euston station. Can walk to Coventry Garden, 40 minutes, but the tube is so convenient. The hotel is basic but clean and tidy and great for a budget and also if you're not planning on staying in your room much .

We loved the area, just a couple minutes walk from Kings Cross tube stop. The people at the B&B were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The downside it is in an older building and the walls are thin and no air conditioning. Rooms get stuffy at night so we kept the windows open. We had a room with... More

Clean and EXCELLENT customer service, at a decent price. Right well apparently this sentence isn't long enough, soo here goes..... I'm frugal, hate most chains because they are expensive and you pay for stuff you don't use. I like basic clean accommodation, with a decent breakfast, if served at a sensible time... I was up early, so asked for a... More

Trip Advisor notes that there are 584 reviews of this property at the time of this writing. So why another one? Because I'm going to use the perfectly honest Macdonald Hotel as a vehicle to offer a tip to getting to central London from Heathrow. Then a few words about the hotel and a bit of a different viewpoint than... More
