Stayed here for two nights whilst on a two day training course. The hotel was not my choice unfortunately.... Positives - Staff are friendly and helpful, but the receptionist was not the most lively of characters at 2000 when I checked in. Breakfast was ok and good quality ingredients; more beans and less bacon and sausage but served with a... More

This place has mostly great selling points, with one or two things they could improve on majorly. Excellent location, close to a few major tube stations. This is the best thing about the George! A wonderful spot for exploring. Close to a few nice restaurants and pubs too, as well as the shops. The hotel itself could do with updating,... More

This came up as a cheap and near place to the train station. I was a bit reluctant but there was no need. The receptionist was friendly and helpful as was the breakfast staff. The room was old but bedding clean with a sink in the room, toilet and good working shower. I went with three of my female friends... More

We stayed here for 2 nights recently and were very pleased with our choice. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was nicely cooked and hot. There were no problems with the heating in room 10, in fact we had to turn it down even though it was cold outside. The only moan would be there was nowhere to... More

I was just looking for somewhere cheap in London for one night and was finding it difficult to find anything below £100 for what I thought was reasonable and then this one came up on Trip Advisor and had such good reviews that I booked a room. What a great little place this is (well, I say little but I... More

The George is in a great location on Cartwright Gardens-- close to the many tube lines at King's Cross/St. Pancras and Russell Square station as well as the to the National Library, Dicken's House, and the British Museum. My room, as is often the case in London was a bit cramped around the bed and with no room for a... More

Lovely newly renovated room on second floor- wooden floors, modern bed and linen, good wet-room/bathroom.Very clean and quiet. Spacious room by London standards.Wi-fi good, no problem leaving luggage before/after check-in-(don't use expensive left-luggage in nearby train terminals.) Easy walking distance to Kings Cross/St Pancreas and Euston stations. Also very close to Russell Square and Holborn tube.(Stayed in many London flea-pits for similar or... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
