After a month of travelling around the country, we returned to London looking for basic accommodation in a central location near the tube to Heathrow. The George fit the bill. Our room had been recently renovated and was clean and surprisingly quiet. The Full English breakfast was decent (although the cold beans and canned tomatoes were a bit unappetizing). The... More

Needing one night in London near to Euston station I came across this little gem. Excellent refurbished room, quality breakfast and an excellent price. Couple this with friendly helpful staff and you're on to a winner.

The George Hotel has received good reviews from other trip advisor writers, and I rely to some degree on these reviews. However one also has to be skeptical about them. What was praised highly in the reviews, as I recall, was the friendliness and service of staff. And, this aspect is the only positive aspects of this small hotel. The... More

I was worried when we were sent "downstairs" to our room, but there was a large lower level window. The room was relatively large for a triple and the bathroom quite new. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was mostly straight out of the tin (but for some reason you have to wait quite a while... More

Stayed here whilst on my stag weekend. Can't think of a single issue with the place. Nice staff, tidy rooms. Good value. I would recommend for large party's. They were also very accommodating when we added another person to our room at fairly short notice

Forget staying in a McChain this is a great little hotel with character at 5 heart of one of London's best districts. Close to two great pubs and several cool cafes (literally 20 yards). Room was recently redecorated and staff were really friendly. Recommend!

We booked this very last minute in the car on the way, so was a little worried, when we arrived the reception area was dated so we thought this isn't going to be what we thought by the look of the photos on line!! But was a pleasant surprise when we went into our room, it was lovey, recently refurbished... More

Went with my two boys, lovely spacious modern room, excellent breakfast, five minutes walk from Kingscross, staff were very helpful at all times, will definitely be back, they also took our luggage before check in which allowed us to go exploring.

We ended up at the George for a night when the boiler went out at the flat we rented. What a nice, cute hotel! The rooms were spotless clean. There is plenty of water pressure. Everyone was so nice AND you get a free FULL English breakfast. Can't beat the location either. 5 minutes the the Russell Square tube and... More

I live relatively near to London so consequently had never stayed in a hotel before. However having a friend to stay and feeling the need for a night away from home we booked the George along with a theatre show. It was perfect for walking to Picadilly to see the show and we visited the British Library and British Museum,... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
