I stayed 5 nights in Garth Hotel. My wife was taking classes at the University of London, so I wanted to be nearby. I had booked a room at another site, but they had no record of my reservation when I arrived in London. The young lady at the hotel desk at Garth was very nice and was able to... More

Everything negative that other reviews say is true, there is no sound proofing either from outside noise from the main road or from the banging of internal doors. The electrics fused twice whilst we were there and on further investigation all the PAT testing on the plugs was out of date, as were the fire extinguisher tests. I will be... More

After carefully reading a lot of comments, I decided to stay at the Garth Hotel. I confess: the economical aspects for my stay were decisive: a Federal funded stay for a 2days business meeting in SoHo. As it was a last-minute booking on a busy weekend (Pride, Wimbledon, Sales, Taylor Swift concert...) I guess you can't be too picky. And... More

I am not someone that speaks negatively about a place but this time there is no excuse. This a terrible place, falling apart, with rude staff (breakfast time) and malfunctioning amenities. Our room has smelly toilet which barely flush, I think last update was in WWII. The Door was almost impossible to open and close.. Bed mega uncomfortable plus I... More

Best thing about this hotel is its position. The breakfast was a very nice home cooked English breakfast. Now for the not so nice. Asked for a room with a shower, did nt think to ask if this included a TOILET! Had to share toilets down the stairs, one of which does not have a wash hand basin. Room so... More

The 1 rating is for the fact the young girl on reception was friendly and there was a roof!!! The double room was filthy, uncovered sockets, cracked and dirty tiles in the bathroom, and a smell that was vile. We dumped our bag and spent 2hrs searching for a decent hotel. Once we found one, we retrieved our bag and... More

Stayed for 1 night for a photo shoot on location in London. The hotel was booked at short notice, it's 5 minutes to Euston Square tube - location was perfect for what I needed. Room 12 is up three flights of stairs, at the front of the hotel. The room was basic but spotless and I slept well, the breakfast... More

I was in London, for 1 short night this week, selected the Garth Hotel from LateRooms. It's location is perfect, 15 mins walk from Euston and 15 mins from Covent Garden. I was upgraded from a single to a twin room, for London ,it was a decent size, ie I couldn't touch all 4 walls with my outstretched arms, contained... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
