The mermaid suite hotel boats a fabulous location close to shops, restaurants and galleries near Oxford circus and bond st. Tube station. However, the location hardly makes up for the noise, poor service, and outrageous wifi prices. Excessive street noise all night/early morning paired with uncomfortable beds and ugly room interior makes for a pretty crap sleep. Staff here is... More

The location is really excellent, a very good area but still a fairly quiet street. The hotel is just basic, small rooms (not tiny, though) and could use some renovation. Decent value for money, though. Breakfast quite disappointing.

We were only there for 1 night and spent very little time in the room except whilst asleep! The room my mum & I shared was on the top floor so I was relieved I didn't have much luggage as there's no lift. Our room was actually quite spacious and whilst the decor was a little dated, it was clean.... More

Not at all luxurious but very well located for the money. Clean and quiet enough. My room had three beds in it so not much room otherwise but the en suite bathroom was fine and so was the television. Other people have said the staff were unpleasant but I did not find this. Pleasant and polite.

I was assigned this hotel via Name Your Own Price option on priceline/ agoda. I arrive toi the hotel after a LONG flight from the USA--open the door---and There was NO elevator !! .... After an EXHAUSTING hike up the STEEP stairs to the desk--- I find out that my reservation has been LOST even though I had my reciepts... More

Location is the only thing good about this hotel. Breakfast is very poor and apart from a ltd choice of cereal only 2 slices of bread and cold croissant are served immediately you sit down which by the time you eat your cereal will become cold and tasteless. Hotel lacks lift and when you make your way to the reception... More

I stayed there last September. Although the rooms are small and the stairs are too narrow, the staff is really helpful and hospitable. The cafe serves the breakfast. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The hotel is located very well close to the subway. The rooms are small but you can use the fire stairs as a balcony. It reflects... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
