Nice clean very reasonably priced room for a city break in London, well placed in zone 1 underground region (with most of big attractions), very convenient to Gloucester station. Staff were pleasant enough to me. Was slight oddness with booking in to one room on arrival, only to find a few hours later when I returned that I had been... More

Stayed as a couple 27th-29th Jan and had a lovely time. Staff very welcoming and hotel close to tube station and has lots of bars and restaurants close by. Would stay there again. Nice area and brilliant location x

We just came back from a week's stay at the Montana. The room - though oddly shaped (long and narrow twin) was very comfortable and very generously appointed with storage space: two door hanging closet, long writing desk with more storage underneath, a small and very convenient fridge, lots of drawers and also room for the luggage. The full bathroom... More

The Montana Hotel is small, efficient, excellent location. The room we received was not large but had huge amounts of storage. Having 7 nights there, the lack of clutter due to no storage, our usual experience, upgraded the experience. Room for improvement? Easily - more light in the bathroom; not so easy - a cliché of English plumbing. But these... More

For anyone who travels on their own and have to book a single room as a double can be just too expensive, you know that it's a gamble as the room could be the size of a walk in cupboard. The Montana is not one of those hotels! The single room I had was very spacious, didn't feel claustrophobic as... More

One minute's walk from Gloucester Rd tube station, just turn left and cross one junction. Very friendly staff. Check in at midday, which is highly unusual these days. Check out 11am. Very comfortable beds, a bath, adequate space in our family room. A lovely Indian restaurant attached, currently with 20% off for residents. Only quibble is that breakfast - which... More

I stayed at Montana in November for 4 days. It was a good stay. The room is small but sufficient for a solo traveler like me. There is a bath tub in the bathroom which was a highlight. The bed was comfortable, and there was electric kettle with tea and coffee refilled every day. The hotel is small and old... More

This is the second or third time we have stayed here. We use it because it is only a short walk away from The Royal Albert Hall. It is clean & comfortable, with friendly staff. The nearest tube station is just down the road.

We checked into the hotel and stayed in the family room. The hotel room was clean if a little dated, but the lift was very small. The staff were helpful and we enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was ok however the choice was limited but the breakfast team where attentive. My son had a cooked breakfast instead of the cereal... More

Friendly staff :), still the hotel furniture feels a little bit "tired". To warm also inside temperature and I would recommend that this hotel got a new "makeover", that would make a difference for me if I should choose this hotel next time.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
