Only stayed for one night. The location is great, just minutes from Gloucester Road Station. The staff are very accommodating and pleasant. The room was very small, although you kind of expect that for some London hotels. The bed was comfortable and there was tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was average size with a good hot power shower.... More

The hotel is located in a very good location, near the underground, near museums and Hyde Park, with shops and exchange 50 m away. The architecture is beautiful, staff helpful and friendly (both Elvis and the gentlemen from the morning restaurant). We have a triple room at the 1st floor and was big, and clean, the bathroom ok. The elevator... More

The hotel has foul smell. The same is true for the towels. Bathroom not clean. Some rooms are under street level, and suffer from humidity. Iron is available if you ask, but board is dirty. I'd never stay there again. However, one positive is that the staff is nice.

We were very lucky to grab a stay for £50 and it was worth it. We had room 201 and it was a little dated, but comfortable. The only negative was that it was a little chilly as there was a draft. The bathroom was clean, so was the room. The TV & wifi worked perfectly. The best thing about... More

TV didn't have freeview channels and therefore no description of what is on and what is coming on. Only about 10 channels in total. Nice breakfast. One person in reception didn't show me enough respect and I wasn't happy. He was polite and yet arrogant. Showed lots of respect to a FELLOW Indian guest and when he turned to me... More

Hubby and I stayed at the Montana Hotel in Kensington for 1 week early October/2014 and it was great. The staff are very friendly and helpful from getting directions, booking a tour. The room was larger than we expected after reading and being told to expect very small room space. Nice size bathroom with shower. The hotel location is close... More

Great location and moderately priced for this part of London. Room fine, but very small. No bathroom, but great to have my own toilet (even if someone had forgotten to clean it) and basin. Staff at desk very mixed, some very friendly, others not so. Overall comes recommended due to location and general cleanliness. I would take a room with... More

Stayed here 31/Oct -> 02/Nov/2014. Our first night was horrible: our airconditioning started to leak in the middle of the night which made a lot of noise -> no sleep at all. They told us immediately we could change rooms for our second night, but instead they fixed the airconditioning during the day so we stayed in the same room.... More

Just returned from the Montana Hotel. We booked for one night and had cell 312, I say cell as I work in the Prison Service and this room was not much bigger than a prison cell. We could not open the door fully as the bed stopped it. The cost of the room was 135 pound a night which included... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
