I have stayed at Jesmond Dene Hotel in the Kings Cross/Bloomsbury neighborhood at least six times in the past ten years. Darrell and his crew are great people. They take excellent care of you, always going the extra mile. The rooms are small and the stairs are steep, but the location is excellent--a great neighborhood full of interesting restaurants and... The staff was exceptionally friendly and polite, and the room was clean with a good bed. The room was also surprisingly quiet, especially for the location - very good sleep! The only minus was that there was something up with the shower or the hot water. No warm water in the morning meant an ice cold shower =(.

Catching an early Eurostar required an overnight stay. This very conveniently located hotel (B&B) was ideal. Very helpful staff, holding our luggage on arrival and taking it to our room. Simple room, good use made of space in small shower room. Well equipped and very clean. We had to leave before breakfast so the staff provided a yoghurt and muffin... More

The only GREAT thing about this hotel is the location. It is literally half a block away from Kings Cross-St pancreas. You cannot beat that. But make no mistake, it is like being in Times Square - very busy, very noisy all hours of the night. The only good thing about this place was the breakfast. I don't understand what... More

The small hotel is only 5 min walk from King's Cross/ St Pancras station on a quiet street. The distance is manageable even with big suitcases. The service team was great and the complimentary breakfast is really good with juice, tea/coffee, toast & full English breakfast. The room is clean with coffee making facilities. It would be nice if the... More

My husband and I were so pleased with our recent stay at Hotel Jesmond. The hotel is a half a block from two train stations, but still in a charming neighborhood. The hotel was full of character, which made us feel like we were absorbing a bit of London history as opposed to staying in a chain hotel. The room... More

Spent one night here with my partner. Room was quite small, but it had all facilities even split air-con unit. On-suite shower room was sufficient for our needs. Coffee / tea facilities in room. Missed breakfast as it finished at 09:00 and we over slept as it was so quiet. Lovely. Hotel will look after your luggage if required at... More

Arrived early morning and was able to leave my bag while I went wandering. I got back about 40 min before check in because I was exhausted, not only was I able to get in my room, but they had already taken my bag up for me. Staff was super nice. No elevator, but I knew that going in, so... More

We stayed Friday 5th June- late rooms had rearranged our stay due to over booking to a hotel nearby and it was TERRIBLE! so we checked out and I booked over the phone to come here. Service was excellent- lovely welcome by the man on reception and he was excellent through-out the stay. The room was price appropriate and very... More

My husband and I were in London for our honeymoon and we stayed 3 nights at the Jesmond Dene Hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff were very friendly, from when I made my reservation to when we checked out. They were very helpful. The room was a tad small compared to what we are used to in... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
