Stayed here for three nights and really enjoyed the friendly and attentive staff as well as the clean room and wireless internet. The breakfast was good .We found this hotel to be very nice and would recommend it to our friends. The location is great.

I stayed here while attending a conference in London. It was booked at the last minute by my boss- purely for cost reasons. The management at the hotel are all friendly and accommodating as possible and I have nothing negative to say about them or the service they directly provided. The hotel itself is one step above being condemned. In... More

We had to stay in London because our Son was in The Royal Brompton Hospital so this was only a 15 min walk from there. And OMG what a mistake. The guy on reception was rude and abrupt. The place smelled damp and dusty. The room was a total nightmare, stains on the carpet. The bathroom was dirty, smelly and... More

I had a last minute need to stay up in London on business and needed somewhere convenient to the Circle Line, so this hotel, being about 100 M from South Kensington station fitted the bill. It was OK for a single night and as I had got a last minute special rate on the room I shouldn't complain. Good points:... More

Couldn't turn the radiator down from about 30 degrees, no exaggeration. Various other issues, tv didn't work without calling reception, not a hint of information in the room so called reception again only to get a rude and abrupt 'yes'. I only wanted the free wifi password which was 123456789 and that's how he told it to me, very slowly... More

I stayed here for 3 nights and it was only when I noticed the hardness of g he bed I looked and the divan had collapsed on one side and they were propping the bed up with blankets and a piece of wood. Avoid at all costs.

Stayed at the Brompton hotel was disappointed due to a few things 1 the mattress was so hard I might as well of slept on the pavement 2 the bedding was very basic and thin and consisted of a sheet and a scabby old wafer thin blanket 3 there was only enough pillows for one each which were as thin... Stayed here while husband was in hospital with my daughter. Staff couldnt have been more considerate or helpful. Had a twin room, warm, clean with fridge, courtesy tray microwave, kettle and hairdryer. Great value for money given its position.

This hotel is perfectly situated to enjoy the wide range of amenities available in South Kensington. Knightsbridge is only ten minutes walk away and the riches of London's top museums are even closer. That said, registration was on a cold drafty landing at a service point that appeared more ticket office than welcome station. The need to provide all personal... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
