Got a double room, had ordered a single room. Room was small. Hotel is old, maintenance level not very high. Bathroom with shower is small. Room is clean. A mor of noice from the road in the room. Breakfast is served at the room, 2 pieces of toast, a boiled eeg, a cup of coffee and a glas ok orange... More

Stayed at the Brompton hotel was disappointed due to a few things 1 the mattress was so hard I might as well of slept on the pavement 2 the bedding was very basic and thin and consisted of a sheet and a scabby old wafer thin blanket 3 there was only enough pillows for one each which were as thin... Stayed here while husband was in hospital with my daughter. Staff couldnt have been more considerate or helpful. Had a twin room, warm, clean with fridge, courtesy tray microwave, kettle and hairdryer. Great value for money given its position.

This hotel is perfectly situated to enjoy the wide range of amenities available in South Kensington. Knightsbridge is only ten minutes walk away and the riches of London's top museums are even closer. That said, registration was on a cold drafty landing at a service point that appeared more ticket office than welcome station. The need to provide all personal... More

We young couple stayed there for 4 nights. A business partner of ours booked it, when we saw the reviews we weren’t pleased at all to go there. The location was great just were we wanted to be, you step out of the hotel, the underground and many coffee shops just a few steps away. The room was too small... More

The Brompton is in need of a major overhaul. Everything is 'down at heel'. I stayed for one night at the end of November....single, mature woman. Flight of stairs up to reception.NO LIFT albeit there are 4 floors! The sheets and towels were spotless - BUT - the blanket and bed cover did not look or feel freshly laundered. The... More

The only good thing about this hotel is it's location, close to south kensington tube. The rest i'm afraid is terrible. The room was dirty, bed was disgusting, carpets sticky and the window onto the main road (at the front) didn't close properly so it was very noisy. Lifting the mat on the bathroom floor to investigate the 'crunching' sounds... More

There was a fridge and a microwave included along with expected items such as kettle, tv etc.Ok there were a few issues such as a wobbly coffee table, a lose bathroom floor tile and the shower... When in Europe, we can typically tolerate these smaller owner-operated budget hotels and we realize that you get what you pay for, but I failed to check reviews and this one was barely sleepable. It was the absolute worst hotel choice I've made, but very close. I echo all the previous reviews: no lift, terrible condition (broken tiles, toilet seat,... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
