I had stayed here before, so knew what I was getting: great location and price, very mediocre rooms and service. This time, I drew the short straw and got room 402, directly over the bar. Wifi didn't work, so clerk gave me the passcode for the neighbor's wifi--passcode was obscene, not a good sign. The bass from the bar music... More

No lift - do not bring big luggage. Too hard to carry upstairs; Unfruendly staff, no A/C, No microwave even though advertised. Long stairs at entrance. No concierge even though advertised that they had it. Bathrooms extremely small. Beds were comfortable. Didn't inform us about breakfast when we got there so missed breakfast for a few days. WIFI was excellent.... More

I knew what I was getting myself into, great location and very ordinary rooms. Had a double bed - not great quality. Did the job though as I barely spent any time in my room, staff were fine with me. Printed my boarding pass for free- small deed but appreciated.

Relying on a glowing review in a trusted travel book by a trusted travel writer, my husband and I booked a two night stay. We were disappointed to say the least. First, the doors to this Hotel are kept open most of the night, so cigarette smoke from the bar makes it way in. Secondly (and this is when we... More

Only good thing was the location. Scaffold outside where builders are painting. Tiny room, extremely noisy, sounded as though there was no glass in the window. Window glass was cracked. Stained bed cover, was changed for one that was completely shredded on the inside. Tiny bathroom, you needed to be a contortionist to reach the toilet paper. Couldn't open the... More

This B&B is in a convenient location and easy walking distance from South kensington tube station. staff were friendly, hotel was very clean, and the breakfast was delicious. Rooms are small of course, but you'll not need to spend too much time in your room in bustling London anyway. Brompton felt like a safe street and there were at least... More

I stayed here while attending a conference in London. It was booked at the last minute by my boss- purely for cost reasons. The management at the hotel are all friendly and accommodating as possible and I have nothing negative to say about them or the service they directly provided. The hotel itself is one step above being condemned. In... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
