We were shocked at the standard of this place. The staff were totally disinterested and the general vibe screamed 'old and filthy'. The beds were a total disaster. For Gods sake why wouldn't you invest in something better than a £20 mattress for a hotel in a location like this? Our sleep was further destroyed by the music from the... More

Ok, let's start by its in a GREAT location... buses, metro.. and closed to everything.. supermarkets.. restaurants ..its a very good location .. now... the hotel itself don't know what to say... REALLY small...no elevators.. it has a bar on the first floor that you can hear till 2 o'clock .. and after that people stay out side.. talking loudly... More

As other reviews have said the location is good. Nothing else is and it's overpriced for what it is. At first glance the room looked ok, there was a bath and you didn't have to turn sideways to get past the bed. Another plus was the fridge in the room. Unfortunately outweighed by the downsides, only two pillows on the... More

This hotel is run down and staff is not very friendly and one was plain rude. One star for location and one for price but do not expect comfortable beds or clean rooms; I even found a bug in the bathroom. Next time I would not stay here and prefer to pay more.

Have given this hotel a average rating due to its location which really is fantastic, the rooms are basic and kept very clean on a daily bases, big down side was the lack of hot water, cold showers are not my thing! Breakfast was a little disappointing, but found a great little cafe " Cafe Floris" 5b Harrington road, just... More

Very convenient location, a short walk to the South Kensington tube station. We were on the fifth floor, no lift, so it was a cardio workout going up those stairs. The room was toward the back of the building, so it was quiet, one night some smoke from downstairs drifted into our room. There is no air conditioning, so think... More

The best thing about this place is the location in South Kensington. It's located just across the street from the tube station. There are also a number of good restaurants in the neighborhood. We were able to walk to the V&A Museum and Harrods. The room was clean - fresh bed linens and towels every day. The bathroom was also... More

When booking this hotel it was noted that their website said “All rooms in the hotel are en-suite and come complete with a private bathroom.” This is not the case! I recently stayed here with a work colleague having book two rooms separately. One of the rooms we were given (room 511) was just a room, it had no en-suite.... More

My room was facing the inner court (a microscopic court where I had to lean out to catch a glimpse of the sky far above to check weather). So my room was very quiet. No breakfast room, you give them your time and they knock on the door when they leave your tray outside. Breakfast..hmm...? I've had many breakfast experiences... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
