My mother and I stayed at the Lilac Door in July 2014. We had a charming room on the top floor with a private bathroom. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. A cooked to order breakfast was offered every morning and it was delicious. It was a short walk to the train station, and then a quick (~11 minute) ride... More

We needed somewhere to stay for a couple of nights whilst moving house. The owners are friendly and helpful, the place is comfortable and clean. The breakfast is great. Parking is on-street but free, and there is a station nearby. For London this is very homely and we slept well.

I stayed at the Lilac Door 8/22-8/26, for 4 nights. My small group of 4 had the 2 bedrooms on the top floor. The rooms were very clean and nicely furnished. Each room had it's own bathroom with a shower, closet and fan if needed. Nice white robes and new slippers were provided during our stay. Also there were the... More

My mother and I recently stayed at the Lilac Door and could not have had a more wonderful experience. From the moment we walked into Jane's charming home, we were overcome with her infectious sense of joy and earnest, warm welcome. The rooms are cozy and very comfortable and the breakfasts are delicious, offering a little something for everyone. I... More

This review is long overdue, but well deserved. We absolutely loved our stay at the Lilac door. Jane is so charming, her breakfasts are amazingly delicious and she had great suggestions for getting about London and places to go/avoid. Location of her B&B to the over ground was great, which made getting out and about so easy. Jane is a... More

Dulwich is a suburb of London south of the river Thames. It has good bus and surface train links with the city centre. There are good bus links to the nearest underground station at Brixton. It's just a short walk from The Lilac Door to catch public transport. The whole area is an attractive one. Dulwich Village is full of... More

If you're lucky enough to stay here, you'll certainly enjoy being graced with Jane's warm welcome and charm. Fantastic breakfasts, decent rooms and many extra little touches await you at the Lilac Door. We had a few minor issues with the wifi and TV reception but they were soon resolved. Jane even went out her way to let us print... More

All the excellent reviews which Jane has received are fully justified! The Lilac Door is a true gem - good location, delightful well-presented room (with all those little extras which make all the difference), exceptional breakfasts and a really charming and helpful hostess. Very few hotels offer this standard and the level of personal service is second to none. We... More

Jane and Keith continue to be some of or favourite people in the world, and the welcome at the Lilac Door is always superb. Breakfast is a treat and the room, with views over the green and pleasant neighbourhood is an oasis away from the hustle of London but close enough that getting there is easy via excellent train or...
