Visiting our daughter in East Dulwich and couldn't find a hotel nearby, didn't fancy airbnb but so pleased we found The Lillac Door. Stayed 3 nights and nothing was too much for Jane who even drove us round the area so we could get our bearings. The house is great and our room absolutely perfect. The breakfast also fab. Totally... Jane was attentive to our needs was able to accommodate the 3 of us at late notice. The room was clean and presented to a very high standard and jane kindly ironed our clothes for the morning too. Breakfast was relaxed, plentiful and served in the front room which was bright as it faced on to the street. Parking was... More

My husband and I stayed with Jane at The Lilac Door in August at the end of our honeymoon. I looked long and hard for nice, reasonable accommodations in London - a near impossibility! That is, until we found this gorgeous retreat in West Dulwich. The B&B is, admittedly, not in the city center - but that's perfect for anyone... More

While visiting family in London my fiance and I stayed one night at the Lilac Door, and could not have had a better time! Jane is a darling hostess: warm, cheerful, and delightfully helpful. She was insistent we relax and make ourselves at home, and wow did we ever! My fiance proposed to me at the Lilac Door, right before... More

My family booked two rooms at the top of the stairs for a 5 day stay in mid January of 2015 and the experience was wonderful in all respects. The accommodations were modern, comfortable, and spotlessly maintained. Jane was a gracious and helpful hostess, eager to exceed expectations. Public transport and taxi service to central London is convenient and affordable,... More

This is a very overdue review. We visited in Oct 2014 as a couple, and found the Lilac Door to be wonderfully comfortable and accommodating. The hostess, Jane, is very welcoming and professional. The breakfast spread is to die for (I think I put on a few kgs just from this). She generously offered to do our laundry as we... More

I just returned from London and a 6 night stay at the Lilac Door. Jane is an incredible hostess and did an amazing job of helping my friend and I find new London adventures. We had both previously visited London so we were looking for unique experiences that we had not done in the past. The location is ideal, the... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Lilac Door back in October for 4 nights. We visited London as part of a 6-week tour of Europe. Booking with Jane was really easy as she responded promptly to all emails that we sent. We liked the Lilac's Door location because it was a quick ride on the overground train from Dulwich... More

My mother and I stayed at the Lilac Door in July 2014. We had a charming room on the top floor with a private bathroom. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. A cooked to order breakfast was offered every morning and it was delicious. It was a short walk to the train station, and then a quick (~11 minute) ride... More
