I was worried after reading some of the reviews but we were very happy with this apartment. We were lucky enough to have a balcony with a table and chairs so we could eat breakfast with a view of Kensington Gardens. It was very close to many of the things we wanted to do and the bus into central London... More

This flat is awful. It is run down and not maintained. They stated we would have daily service, one fully clean during our stay and only one change in towels (for a family if three for 10 days we had one large and one hand towel each). However in act we never received any of this. The hygiene standards are... More

The location is perfect as it is in central London. Bathroom and Showers very small. Make sure you get bottom apartments as there is no lift. No Housekeeping service. When the housekeeper did replace 1 or 2 items, the door was left open. Apartments staff not of great help. I happen to meet up with 2 marketing agents by chance... More

Having 2 toddlers we wanted an apartment with a kitchen and to be near hyde park. There was no lift so I got plenty of exercise going up the 2 flights of stairs which was fine for working off the beer. The only slight bummer was that there was no washing machine and the shower wasnt great but hey it... More

I am rating a specific apartment on fourth level. There was one other on that level and all levels are walk up. Buyer be ware. The major problem is that the apartment is not as advertised in the internet listing. Legally it does but the fine print is deceptive. In the fine print is says, “Please note that the photos... The location of these apartments are wonderful. We are a family of 4 with 2 children 12,17. we had the basement apartment which had a terrible smell of rising damp and our outlook onto the inner area was just terrible. The futon bed was not sufficient for 2 people to sleep on and the only linen supplied was a sheet... More

I stayed here with two of my friends this past May. I was a little nervous at first; however, my fears quickly disappeared upon settling in. Due to issues with weather and flight cancellations, we ended up arriving in London a day and several hours later than we were originally supposed to. When we finally arrived at the hotel we... Great location in secure and self sufficient apartment. If you are expecting any services other than an apartment and do not like walking up stairs then this is not the place for you. Right across from Kensington Palace and we even saw Will and Kate's dogs out for a walk with security. Wonderful for jogging.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
