We were warned that the room we were in was small by the girl on checkout and we were offered a basement room but this was at the front of the hotel next to the road. What we didn't expect was a room so small that one side of the double bed was up against a wall! The hotel is... More

We stayed at the Portland for two nights for our wedding anniversary, We were greeted at the door by the Concierge who (even hough it was quite late) had a beaming smile and was a very friendly chap, While booking in we were given a free upgrade to an Executive room which was fantastic. The hotel was very clean as... More

This is the first time I stayed in this hotel becasue my usual hotel was full. I had a room in the basement (but it had a window out to the road so not dark). The room was large, the bed was fabulous, very comfortable with lots of lovely pillows and a soft duvet. There was even a little kitchenette... More

We booked into The Lancaster but were moved across the road to the Portland(part of the same chain) I was not suprised by this as a friend had a similar experience with the Grange chain previously. We had been upgraded and I must say had a fabulous room. A very large room with a seating area, very roomy bathroom and... More

A well-appointed and comfortable hotel. Fairly expensive, though. We were lucky to get a room for 4 nights having booked a place across the road, which turned out to be a filthy dump. Bedford Place is in a pleasant part of London and so convenient for tubes, buses and taxis, as well as for walking. We initially used the Hop... More

I hated every minute of my stay in this hotel, if you can really call it that! The hotel is a converted town house in a row of converted townhouses. This I didn't mind and thought that it might even make the hotel quite quaint, with traditional features. Check-in and out was fine. The staff, although overworked by appearances, were... More

Was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Its in a great location almost next door to the British Museum and a short walk to Soho, Covent Garden and Oxford Street. The room was very spacious and had good decor. It was much bigger than the usual london hotel rooms. I highly recommend this Hotel and the other sister hotels on... More

2nd hotel in this chain I've stayed in. Great position for sight seeing/ West End. Room was spacious and clean. Great building (old town house). Big complaint for me was noise. The full length, sash, wood windows are beautiful, but hopeless at keeping street noise out. Loud motorcycle outside after midnight. and other occassional vehicles kept me awake. Then the... More

I had as usual read qiute a few reviews here, and other places, and booked a Deluxe Studio here for 4 days. Early on the morning the day before we were to leave for London last week, I called them up just to check what the situation was regarding the possible ash-sky that might close UK airspace. I called them... More

Caught in London in the middle of the volcanic ash crisis I checked in this hotel on Monday evening. The following day I decided to extend my stay by another night. In view that the demand on London hotel rooms was increasing sharply, the hotel management decided to charge me more for this second night. As things turned out I... More
