We stayed here when going to a late night Prom. It was very well located for the Royal Albert Hall, the museums and Kensington. We had a friendly welcome and our room was a decent size, spotlessly clean and even had current magazines to read. We had a good night's sleep and enjoyed our buffet breakfasts. We would definitely stay... More

Another, not from a chain store, successful find. Fabulous welcome from extremely helpful chaps on reception. Would be a large room if you were outside of London. Huge room for a London hotel. Mini bar prices very sensible. WiFi worked. Comfy bed. As a rural type I'm not used to road noise but that's to be expected in the big... More

I was on a solo trip to a conference at the Imperial College which was a 5 minute walk away. Location excellent for Kensington Gardens, Natural History Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum and the Royal Albert Hall, all within a 10 minutes walk or less. Short walk to the Gloucester Rd Tube station which has direct access to Heathrow. As... More

Clean, welcoming and quiet but convenient and easy access to everything. Money well spent. Opposite museums and short stroll to Royal Albert Hall. Near two tube stations and good selection of eateries in South Kensington. Crisp white sheets and power shower. Small TV but who wants to sit in when you're in London?

The hotel met all our expectations. We asked for a quiet room not on the ground floor and that is what we got. The continental breakfast was very enjoyable with plenty of fresh food. The staff were always polite and helpful. They took good care of our luggage before and after our checkout. Will definitely consider staying again.

Excellent location in a quiet area, opposite the Natural History Museum, close to Gloucester Rd tube station (6 pound fare direct from Heathrow) and easy walking distance to Kensington Palace, Hyde Park and Harrods. Rooms are small but very clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bar only, not a restaurant, but there are plenty of excellent restaurants,... More

The location is excellent. That's it. Very average. Does not deliver what it says in the brochure or on their website. We went to celebrate my husband's 55th birthday, and were very disappointed. Not special, not romantic

Brilliant location for the Royal Albert Hall, lovely little hotel with friendly staff. Rooms are very small but fine if you're just sleeping there - wouldn't be good if you intend to work in your room for any period of time. Be aware, the rooms are completely open plan and you can see the toilet from pretty much anywhere in... More

Visiting the Chelsea Flower Show this was such a good location! We were close to Gloucestor Lane tube station. A comfortable, friendly hotel which was perfect for our stay in London. Breakfast was continental and very good.

The location of this hotel is great - close to Hyde Park and other nice areas such as South Kensington, Gloucester Road etc. 5 mins walking distance to the tube. My room was tiny but nice and clean, with a view towards the peaceful courtyard. Breakfast was good, there is not a lot of options like you would find in... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
