We had a very pleasant top floor room which had that most important feature - a comfortable bed. The bathroom was well presented although the shower was only adequate - probably a symptom of being on the top floor. Our booking included the continental breakfast which offered pastries, croissants, cereal, rolls, cheese and fruit. The bar was reasonably priced which... More

Our experience of one week in the 54 four hotel was pretty good! The service is perfect and people are erally welcoming. The hotel is located in a good area, zone 1 with the underground at 5 minutes walking. We would not hesitate to reserve again...

First of all, despite 3 stars I would stay again. The staff are warm and friendly, and on the whole the hotel was lovely. Staying on a weekend, there is limited free parking outside after 13:30, so great base for the Natural History, Science & V&A museums, Royal Albert Hall or Hyde Park. The truth is the bathroom fan in... More

The hotel is easy to get to from the Gloucester Rd station, an easy walk to Hyde Park and across the street from great museums. The rooms are the biggest but I've stayed in much smaller when it comes to London. The hotel offers a nice breakfast and the front desk is super helpful. I recommend this as a great... More

The hotel is in a great location, directly opposite the V&A and easy tube journey to Victoria - ideal if you are going to the theatre. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed a couple of drinks in the 24 hour bar, of which at 11pm we were the only occupants. Our room wasn't large but... More

We stayed at 54 Boutique Hotel for 4 nights. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful and our room (standard double) was a good size and very clean. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel as we prefer to find our own, but from what I saw it looked like a good continental buffet. We couldn't fault the location, only... More

Fine hotel, clean, good staff which keeps it's self in de background. Give us a perfect room with the posiblity to smoke outside. One of the last. Fine beds. A normal and complete breakfast. A lot to see in the immediate vicinity. Museums, shops & restaurants. Tip: a liitle bit coolder in the restaurant.

Excellent hotel. We were on the 4th floor directly opposite the Natural History Museum, and walking distance to Science Museum, V&A, Imperial College, Hyde Park, Knightsbridge and Gloucester Road/South Kensington Underground (short connection to Westminster etc + direct line to Heathrow T1,2,3,5) Bar could do with more stock, and breakfast could be improved, but there are many cafes and bistros... Very clean rooms, cozy beds, helpful staff. It is very close to Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum and Hyde Park. Direct underground link to Westminster, Picadilly from South Kensington or Gloucester Road

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
