Having recently travelled to Paris by Eurostar we were looking for a budget hotel close to St Pancas and although the location of Central Hotel is perfect the hotel itself left a lot to be desired. We were allocated at room on lower ground and as there are no lifts we had to negotiate twisty passages and stairs only to... More

Sorry that this is late but I owe the staff a "thank you". When in summer one arranges a rail journey in January, the reality of waiting at a bus stop at 5am in the snow does not necessarily occur. I was therefore lucky that the hotel had one single room left at about £60. It was basic but clean... More

Staff were very nice but not on the ball with issues that occurred in the hotel. The following morning our shower drain was blocked and the water soaked the bathroom floor and the water wasn't coming out of the taps then. We told the receptionist who just replied 'thanks for letting us know'. No-one came to rectify the issue, there... More

Stayed here for 4 nights 10-14 August with one of my best friends. Walking distance to Central London. For those of you not wanting to walk is kings cross underground station a stone's throw from the station. The rooms were nice, the bed soft and comfortable But slightly worn and a little dirt here and there. The staff was kind... More

In fairness it is wonderfully positioned for what we wanted and the staff were very accommodating but I felt that paying £125 a room was ripping the p!!s. Not bad rooms although small and relatively comfortable beds but I think this is top end for cost for this standard. Watty

The location is perfect - literally 2 minutes across the road from Kings Cross Station and a great base for a visit to the city. I was very lucky to have been upgraded to an ensuite single which was a nice surprise. The rooms are basic and the walls are perhaps in need of a paint job, but other than... More

I came away with my family for a nice weekend away for my young sister's birthday treat. Finding any hotel that can fit 4 people in a room was a struggle, so we settled for Central Hotel. Completely unaware of how awful it would be. At a price of £330 for the 2 nights I was expecting atleast the luxury... More

We had 2 rooms. one right at the top of a long flight of narrow steps and one at the basement. the rooms were really small. once we put our luggages down, there was no room to walk!! i think hotel is only meant for people who backpack with very little luggage. also, facilities are very limited. toilet is small... We booked this hotel for its convenience to Kings cross and couldn't fault it's location. It's when we got inside that the disappointment started. We booked a so called family room but it was clear it was a double room with two more beds squeezed in. No floor space was left apart from about a foot between the beds which... More

This is a good place to stay in London. The location is great, the price is right. As for the hotel, it is clean, has breakfast, WiFi and a very friendly staff. Both of the rooms I booked for my family to stay in were clean and one of the rooms was on the ground floor as I informed the... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
