Excellent position, and where can you stay in Central London for about £50? It is true that the fabric of the building is a bit rundown but it is clean and tidy, staff are friendly and the breakfast is excellent - full English buffet - can keep you going all day.

Ok, it's not the Ritz but it is in a great location for a great price and with breakfast thrown in. I use it when I'm going to concerts in the big smoke - the rooms are clean and comfortable enough for two nights. I've yet to experience the "tap" on the door lol!

So perfect location. Hotel cheap and cheerful. Don't expect a lot for the price of £70 for twin room with breakfast. Only booked it as knew would only be there for 7 hours as we were going to the Brits . Now what I don't appreciate is a tiny gentle tap of the door at 8am and then the door... More

My wife and I stayed here in September 2014 as we just needed a cheap, central Hotel as a base to the see the sights and go and see a show in the West end. The County Hotel was our choice and although their are some scathing reviews on here we both found the Hotel fit for purpose. The rooms... More

The best thing about this hotel is its location. It's a short walk from St Pancras and King's Cross stations and near Bloomsbury, with places like University College and the British Museum in the vicinity. Our rooms were booked on our behalf, and we really expected something better. Although we are both pensioners, we don't necessarily mind shared bathrooms and... More

The location is good, and the breakfast is good and included. After that, nothing good to say. Our room was very basic, with toilets and washrooms along the corridor. You get what you pay for, of course. However, it seems a lot of young, foreign tourists are attracted by the price. We spent 3 nights here and had hardly a... More

Whole hotel is dated and needs a revamp. I had a single room for 1 night which was adequate, but had a strange smell to it. Water was left in kettle, bed was comfortable. Shared toilet was clean, shower had mould around edge of bath and all over ceiling on floor 4. Continental breakfast was a bread roll amd jam... More

I will never again go to the county hotel again , very rude staff especially one named Monica and another lady don't know her name. Me and my sister went to our rooms and when we opened we stayed with our mouth open because the room was not good not even for a small child. We went down to complaint... More

I stayed for 4 nights from 29 December in room 121. The hotel is in a fabulous location and easily walkable to the centre and well connected to all over London and beyond as it is about 200 metres from Euston. When I was looking for a hotel, I saw prices of Premier Inns, budget Accor hotels and Tune hotels... More

A hotel in central London for £50? Well, yes. Decent breakfast, good location. But, not en suite, incredibly dated decor and fittings. You'l find much nicer budget hotels or hostels, but they might not be as 'budget' as £50.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
