The only good thing is the location. List of negatives: Only one PowerPoint in the whole room, have to leave key at reception when leaving for the day, wifi only in lobby, sink was filthy, cold water not really cold, pretty sure sheets weren't changed because I noticed hair everywhere, rooms are stuffy and too noisy when you open the windows as they... Aside from the fact that the wifi simply didn't work, given that we had to share bathrooms, overlooking the rather grubby carpet in the room, everything was fine. The location is unbeatable, the breakfast is good, but never changes, the room was clean, the staff were mostly friendly and helpful: the price was right. Don't expect a luxury quality hotel... More

The County hotel is dire. Staff as you enter are miserable, told that the double room we had booked was unavailable so would have to have a twin" no problem" they said "push the beds together" The room smelt of smoke like a old dirty ashtray. The room was dirty, who knows when the floor was last had a vac run... More

Been there for a night with the intention to prolong my staying. By coincidence, the hotel was fully booked and as a result, I stayed for a night only. Rooms are the epitome of noise (from the street), bathrooms are outside the room (cannot understand the reason) and maid arrived early in the morning waking me up. I think it... More

Pillows could do with an upgrade. Adequate hotel, provided you don't mind sharing facilities with a number of other rooms. Some of the other guests tended to leave there used bath mat towels on the floor of the bathrooms when they had finished, it may be an idea if they put some type of linen bin in the bathrooms.

This is not a hotel for any kind of special occasion. The promotional pictures are very outdated. The rooms are small and airless with a tiny sink. You have shared baths (with showers over them) and toilets. Our sheets, pillow cases and towels were very clean, but the quality of the sheets leaves your elbows and heels sore if you... More

When we missed our last train and my phone battery was dead we went round all of the hotels and this was the only one with a room free. It was grotty, dated, and over priced even considering the location. I certainly wouldn't recommend the breakfast either. With some advanced planning there are better hotels in London for the same... I could go on and on about the many imperfections of this hotel - the general worn out feel, the shabbiness, etc - but frankly if you expect anything else for the price then you need a reality check. I paid £59 for a bunk room, including breakfast. The beds were comfortable, the staff pleasant and the breakfast was delicious.... More

Booked this hotel for a nearby conference in June 2014. The hotel is a short walk from Russell Square station, and had a quick check in process. The corridors are decorated in an old 80's style, and the rooms are sparsely decorated. I had a single bed, desk, chair and sink with two lights. The bathrooms are shared between corridors.... More

We stayed in this hotel as it was cheap. The reception staff and porters were really nice an friendly plus helpful. The room it's self was very damp an there was mould on the ceiling the beds represented why it was a cheap priced hotel but I found them fine for one night the shared toilet an bathroom were quite...
