Okay, It's not The Savoy. It's not even a Travellodge but a single room on a Saturday night at this price cannot be sniffed at. The room is basic and old fashioned, more like a hostel with a sink in the room and the facilities at the end of a corridor but it's all clean, comfortable and the staff are... More

Stayed here with my teenage daughter for her birthday weekend. Booked a bunk room as that was all that was left at short notice for the great price. We arrived early in the day, and the concierge was more than happy to store our luggage for the day until we could check in. When we did check in we found... More

On arrival we asked where the bar/lounge was and they said there isnt one it shut ages ago and its still advertised as having one. Staff need to be more cheerful rather than misserable. Breakfast was rubbish. Noisey all night with people showering and using the shared toilet. Room needs updating. I will not be staying at this hotel again.... More

I was a bit dubious when we booked this hotel after seeing the photos and reviews however we needed somewhere cheapish and close to transport for the London film and comic con event we were going to. I was pleasantly surprised when we got there it definitely wasn't as bad as what I thought it would be but then I... More

Double room with good bed and clean sheets. Two stained chairs and small tv. No wifi in rooms. Bathrooms down hallway and toilets needed a clean. For example poo smear on tiles for both days we stayed. Toilets overflowed into hallway (~1 meter) and floor although dried during day did not seem to be disinfected, Breakfast was there but same... The staff at the check in was nice but some porter guys were the "I don't care" type and not very helpful. Room were very very small (in my single room, I cold touch both walls with my arms open) but clean. No decoration at all and some things (like the walls) should be fixed/repainted. Common bathrooms: some are overcrowded... More

When your coming to London on a budget this is perfect. The downside is it's shared bathrooms/ toilets but you can cope as it's only £50-60 a night. If you want pvt bathrooms then go up one hotel and go to the Travistock over the road, several hotels in the imperial hotels all nearby. One for ever budget. The more... More

Booked this hotel through Hotwire.com and learned one lesson: never book a hotel through booking site hotwire.com! In spite of promises to have a best price guarantee, hotwire failed even to react on mails upon discovery County hotel is more than half the price when booked directly, and rooms have shared toilets and bathrooms. At County Hotelthe one gets what... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
