I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I booked it as I was going to a concert in Hyde Park and wanted to stay close by, without being in a really busy area. The amenities in the Privilege Room were great. I booked an early check-in and the staff welcomed me and checked me in promptly. The hotel staff... More

Size of the room wasn't a problem, as I was a travelling alone, but the air-con is super loud, meaning a choice between absolutely sweltering heat or a howling gale. The beeping of the lift helped keep sleep to a minimum. Beds are decent though, bathroom whilst cramped was well appointed. Breakfast was extra, but the charge was £5 or... More

The rooms have every facility you would need apart from minibar. However, the rooms are very small. I am only 5' 1" and I found it small. So if you are staying for more than one night I would consider this.

My husband and I spent one night at the Mercure London Kensington last weekend and were accommodated in a comfortable king sized room. We were impressed with the little complimentary touches which were provided in our room. Self service breakfast was really good and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Location of the hotel was perfect for travelling into... More

My girlfriend and I stayed at Mercure London Kensington Hotel for 2 nights on 24-26/6/2015 after the Eurostar cancellation due to Calais chaos on 23/6/2015. We stayed at another hotel for the previous night. The hotel is right next to a private hospital, which is of no concern to me. It takes 5-7 minutes walk to Earl's Court tube station,... More

The issues raised are being investigated by the hotel manager and we are however pleased... More

I had an absolutely dreadful experience with a different hotel nearby which left me in the lurch, the staff, especially Andre, were amazing and helped me to secure a room for the nights that I needed. Would highly recommend, these are staff who care for their guests and want to ensure that each and every guest is looked after. The... More

Have stayed at this hotel 4 or 5 times in the past 3 years. Staff are very friendly. Very centrally located, almost equidistant between Earls Court and Gloucester Road Tube stations. Some rooms can be quite small but that's okay, you don't need a big room if you are only sleeping in it. Will be staying again in August and... More

other then being centrally located in London, this hotel has nothing to offer. A tiny lobby. Microscopic rooms. No minibar. Slow elevators. No amenities. Slow wifi. Outrageous rates. How the Accor group is using the Mercure brand against this hotel is beyond me - it is more like a Formula 1.

Dear Richard G, We are very sorry that our hotel has not met your expectations. I am quite surprised by your feedback as our public areas, including the reception and lobby, are in fact of a very good size for an 82 rooms hotel. Our hotel and the accommodation offered is in line with Mercure hotels and London standards and... More

I stayed at the Mercure London Kensington for five nights in June 2015. It is a lovely, clean, smart hotel. The rooms are fine. They provide a nice room for people wishing to stay on their own and the bed is still pretty large. (This is an option.) The breakfast is excellent but what I must commend most of all... More

We stayed here for 4 nights for our honeymoon and we walked into our room to find a room that can only be described as a broom cupboard , was re smallest room we've ever stayed in , we weren't told we booked a small double even though we paid £120 a night for the pleasure, we complained to only... Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
