This hotel is dirty and full of mold! My friend and I stayed here and felt terrible. The room is dirty and full of mold and the service is terrible! We confronted the night manager about the condition of our room and he said sorry there is nothing I can do. Save yourself and book somewhere else! the price is... More

It's near earl's court underground. I was woken in the night by the sound of a mouse eating through our loaf of bread. That's probably enough said. Couldn't wait to get out and back into a hostel. There was mould and water damage everywhere. A fork, spoon and plate for a couple. We were desperate for a place to stay... More

I absolutely loved this place. Of course, I wasn't expecting much for that incredibly low price in central London, but it actually surprised me that they had a vey good working flat tv, a microwave and jar to boil water. It wasn't a very clean space, but you can clean it yourself. But I tried not to focus on that... More

Whole room was small, dirty, unworking fridge, cold water and muld everywhere. Room was terribly hot and smelly. No dishes as advertised. Really small room for 4 people, not enough even for 2. One cover for 2 people, dirty and smelly bedsheet. Worst stay ever.

Where do I start???... I stayed here with my friend and 3 children, 16 n 2yr old twins... We were given a room on the 3rd floor, struggled with suitcases and pushchairs with no offer of help, got to the room (after fighting with the lock for 10mins, as it's been fitted upside down) and all looked ok, we hurriedly... The concierge at the Collingham Place hotel goes above and beyond to make your stay perfect. He is very helpful, and is more helpful than concierges at 4 star hotels. I would rate this hotel 5 out of 5 because of the excellent service!

I stayed here on the 11th of January and booked a "private double room". When I arrived we waited for 15 minutes to be served whilst a house keeping lady was ignoring us until I spoke to her and she said "I no speak with you"... Clearly she spoke no English and was very rude. Then finally when the "receptionist"... More

This hotel is the fake version of the photos posted by booking. The staff is really unkind and unprofessional. The rooms are claustrophobic and gloomy. The forniture is completely worn out and uncomfortable. The toilette is horrifying and spartan. I think that the worst jail of BangKok is bettere than this room. Go forward when you'll read this hotel, you... More

The controversial history with this hotel began months before my friends and I left. We booked it with free cancellation through booking but all of a sudden they changed the way of reserving so we were "oblidge" to go there if we didn't want to lose our money (we tried everything to get our money back ,but it was impossible).... Stay in a "family room" with 2 single beds and 1 double bed on the main floor and 2 single mattresses at the loft. The stairway goes up to the loft is not safe at all, there is a big gap between the window and the edge of the loft, if you were small enough, you can fall to the... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
