The concierge at the Collingham Place hotel goes above and beyond to make your stay perfect. He is very helpful, and is more helpful than concierges at 4 star hotels. I would rate this hotel 5 out of 5 because of the excellent service!

I stayed here on the 11th of January and booked a "private double room". When I arrived we waited for 15 minutes to be served whilst a house keeping lady was ignoring us until I spoke to her and she said "I no speak with you"... Clearly she spoke no English and was very rude. Then finally when the "receptionist"... More

This hotel is the fake version of the photos posted by booking. The staff is really unkind and unprofessional. The rooms are claustrophobic and gloomy. The forniture is completely worn out and uncomfortable. The toilette is horrifying and spartan. I think that the worst jail of BangKok is bettere than this room. Go forward when you'll read this hotel, you... More

The controversial history with this hotel began months before my friends and I left. We booked it with free cancellation through booking but all of a sudden they changed the way of reserving so we were "oblidge" to go there if we didn't want to lose our money (we tried everything to get our money back ,but it was impossible).... Stay in a "family room" with 2 single beds and 1 double bed on the main floor and 2 single mattresses at the loft. The stairway goes up to the loft is not safe at all, there is a big gap between the window and the edge of the loft, if you were small enough, you can fall to the... More

I spend about 100 nights every year travelling around the globe - mostly for business - and of a hotel I expect three basic things: cleanliness, functionaliy and safety. The room I had was not clean. The walls/ceilings were mouldy, the floor was broken and I did not feel like touching anything that need not be touched. For the functionality... More

Let's not get carried away with some of the other reviews on here, the hotel isn't the Savoy by any stretch of the imagination, but you have to be realistic when you look at the cost. We were a large group of 12 and trying to find somewhere in London (hotel or apartments) for anything less than a £1000 is... More

Me & my friend were meant to be staying in the hotel next door (Exhibition Court Hotel). When we arrived the man on reception told us our room had no electricity. He disappeared then came back and told us to follow him where he took us to the hotel next door and told us we would be staying here. We... More

On arrival we had to pay £633.00 before we were permitted the key to our accommodation, this would not have occurred had I been able to view the room beforehand for the pictures on the website do not reflect what met us when we entered our "family room". With 3 children the standard of cleanliness was appalling, the numerous breaches... More

I paid £103 for a family room so I wasn't under any illusions. I didn't expect the Savoy! However, bearing in mind I was travelling with 2 children under 10, I would in future be prepared to spend the extra for a room which feels safer and less seedy! It served a purpose...somewhere to lay our heads on a busy... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
