Good points: no noise so could sleep well, clean rooms, staff super friendly and helpful. Bad points: no free wifi and only 5 channels on the TV. How is that even possible in this day and age? Very frustrating as otherwise perfectly good.

I usually try and stay here when i'm working till late as my office is only around the corner. The hotel is tucked away in a quiet lane off cannon street but it's not difficult to find. The receptionists are nice and helpful - no complaints. The room which I normally stay in is quite spacious and just a normal... More

For a budget hotel, we cannot say enough about the staff at this particular hotel. They were professional with a personal touch. We booked this hotel with economy in mind. We preferred to spend our money on the sites and theatre and food....our goal was to have a clean room with a comfortable bed. We got both of those things... More

Brilliant location to Bank and Canon Stations, tucked away off Canon Street. The staff were so friendly and would do anything for you. The room was comfortable, clean and fresh in its decor and style.

Stayed for 2 nights for sightseeing. Hotel is normal chain style and is clean and tidy. As it is in the business district there is nothing open over the weekend except Mcdonalds and Pret A Manger!! Any pubs/restaurants you manage to find open close at about 6pm so you will need to cross London bridge to find any kind of... More

I stayed at Travelodge Bank last week for five days for work purposes. And I have to say that in comparison to all the other Travelodges I’ve stopped in (and that’s quite a few over the years!) this one impressed me the most. The location is superb, a couples of minutes’ walk from the Financial District with three tube stations;... More

Good location and friendly staff. All the rest is very bad. Hotel offers less than a country motel on Hilton rate. No breakfast, Bad shower, very small room, Nothing in a room. You will have to ask for a hair dryer if you need one. I do advise to search around for a better deal.

This hotel is a standard Travelodge hotel, but in a very good location, just 100 meters from Bank Underground/DLR station. It was expensive at 230 Euros a night, no breakfast. On entering the hotel I was greeted by a very pleasant receptionist, and the payment/check-in was handled very quickly. Was then told about the building works. Was 2pm and the... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
