We stayed at this Travelodge to attend a friend's birthday party in London and found the hotel offered us everything we wanted. The hotel entrance is in a small courtyard off St Swithin's Lane (almost opposite Cannon Street Station). Although there was a lot of construction work going on nearby, due to the relatively secluded location of the hotel, the... More

The two of us stayed in room 217 from april 11th to 17th, for our spring holidays. Perfect location, close to the Bank and Cannon Street underground stations, not too far away from Monument and St Paul's Cathedral, and 10mn by foot to Liverpool Street Station for the Stansted Express train (Stansted airport)! Lots of shops nearby, including Boots, M&S... More

Small hotel with a big welcome by the very friendly staff. Convenient position, and yet tucked away from sight, and away from traffic noise. Building works in immediate area which we were warned of, but did not prove a problem during our 2 night stay (Thurs/Fri)

Travelodge in St Swithins lane is in a good location, with friendly professional reception staff, and the rooms was spotlessly clean, with everything you needed for a short stay. Would recommend especially if you like to stay in the City of London

I Chose this hotel on the strength of other reviews on this website and happily was totally as expected . Room was very clean, bathroom and loo very clean, not big but big enough for a one night stop. The very polite and friendly girls at reception warned me there would be building works starting in the morning and asked... More

I booked a family room for 2 adults + 2 children at this hotel as our base for our London holiday over the Easter weekend. I chose this particular hotel as the surrounding area seemed quite nice and the Bank underground station, which is on multiple tube lines, was nearby. I made the booking via the Expedia website and promptly... More

Always a pleasure to return to this particular Travel Lodge. You can guarantee a warm and friendly welcome from all the team but especially Isobella and Simone. Nothing is too much trouble, good local knowledge, all delivered with a smile. Thank you

This place was everything you need and more in a hotel when staying in London. The room was clean and comfortable, as was the bathroom. The staff at Travelodge are exceptional. There was no request that was too much trouble. You can tell there is a real sense of pride amongst the staff here. Such a great experience, would highly... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
