Two rooms booked for a Saturday night stay in London. No complaints at all, the rooms were small but in the centre of London for the price we paid I didn't expect much else. Extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming reception staff, who immediately offered us water and accepted out luggage as we arrived earlier than check in time. My only... More

We booked this place for a Saturday night for a function in town, the room was disappointing very small for a standard double, could only just walk past the hanging rail and the bed. We paid £170 for one night no breakfast ! Too expensive Travelodge! Your sure to find something better so look elsewhere.

This property is incredibly conveniently located for the city, like all Travelodges offers the basics at a basic price, and like all of the renovated Travelodges has a comfortable bed and a good shower. The staff were very friendly and helpful (but need to learn NOT to announce the customer's room number aloud at check-in!).

We booked this hotel for a Sunday night in May at a fantastic price of £49 and we were not disappointed! The hotel is in a brilliant location, London city is easily accessible via walking or the tube. The woman on reception was very helpful and gave us a large room but warned us about the noise we may hear... More

Stayed with a friend for one night. The room is as you would expect from a Travelodge - and was clean and tidy. The lady on reception when we checked in was so friendly and pleasant, and a different lady in the morning was just as nice. Bed was really comfy although I got too hot so removed the duvet... More

It took a while for us to find it, as it is on a small lane off the main road. It's a beautiful building, with the entrance through a small courtyard that also houses a restaurant. Very conveniently located, and the staff were extremely friendly. By booking well in advance, we managed to get a large double room for much... More

Brilliant location. Exceptionally comfortable bed. Luxurious linen, pillows and duvet. Spotlessly clean and spacious. We found the pitter patter of feet of the hundreds of workers rushing to work just under our window on a Monday morning quite an eye opener.

This is the second time the we have stayed in this hotel as it is perfect for us. Very close to Bank station for the DLR to City airport and also well served with underground links from Bank and Cannon Street within 5 minute walk. Rooms were comfortable and is good value for money considering the location in the city... More

Room was small but bed was large and comfortable. No bath but shower was fine. Sink small. And view from my room into courtyard was mostly obstructed by a wall. But I was there to sleep me get up early for a meeting the next day so served its purpose and was within our corporate budget for centre of London.... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
