I booked a room here as I was attending a wedding nearby, so was maybe hoping for a bit of a reduced rate for a hotel in the City on a Saturday night but it seemed busy so I guess theres lots of people wanting to pay £140 in a part of London that is relatively dead over the weekend.... More

I received fantastic service at this hotel, the lady at check in was fantastic, had a superb demeanour, made me feel welcome and seemed genuinely interested in me. She was a real credit to this hotel and indeed Travelodge, I have stayed at all kind of places and she far outshone some of the 5* places I've been where staff... More

Picked this Travel Lodge for it's location. It's near to everything and has the tube on it's doorstop. As for the room itself, standard Travel Lodge room with all the functioning amenities working. The only slight gripe would be the building work dust coming through the window but that won't be forever I guess. The staff were always on hand... More

I booked this hotel on it's location as it was near too many of the places I wanted to visit this time around. Me and my friend normally visit London a couple of times a year but normally do very long day trips, this time we decided to stay and because we got this Travelodge at such a good price,... More

A good hotel in a very quiet area, even though it's in the heart of the city. Minutes walk from the Shard / Borough Market and Cannon St / Bank underground. A Sainsbury's and McDonalds is just round the corner, which is even open on a Sunday when the city area is quiet. Sadly, there is major building works going... More

Stayed here for one night, when we were in London to run the BUPA 10000. Ideal for what we wanted. Location good, close to underground. Unusual location (and building) for a Travelodge down a tiny alley, quite quaint. Happy with room, clean and all the usual facilities. Comfortable bed. It was very quiet as well being a bank holiday week-end.... More

We've stayed at this hotel a couple of times now and wouldn't hesitate to book again next time we are visiting London. As far as location goes, you won't get much more central than this. With Bank underground and DLR station right around the corner, you are connected to everywhere and anywhere in the capital. In terms of rooms, it's... More

Reasonable priced hotel for central London, just few minutes walk from Bank underground station. Good size room, comfy bed and very clean. Room was very warm, no air conditioning in hotel and no fan in room. The only problem is that there is no where nearby open for breakfast at weekend.

I stayed in this hotel during World Travel a Market 2014 and although it was very close to the bank station for a direct ride on the DLR to the convention center that did not make up for the hotel. The room wa super small, the bathroom door could not be closed if you were sat in the toilet, the... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
