Friendly staff. Small-ish room but quiet and clean. Good shower. Little boxed breakfast novel but fine. No cupboard but hanging rail and shelf. Did 3 nights and it was absolutely fine. Very convenient and can leave bags after check out. Good most of the City.

I have stayed in three different Travelodge locations around London and this one is by far the best! The hotel is centrally located in London with multiple restaurants nearby and within walking distance from some of London's most famous attractions. Travel to anywhere in London from this location is very convenient and fast due to the London Underground stations of... More

This Travelodge has the most welcoming and caring staff I think I have ever encountered. It has a great location in the City with everything you need close at hand. I haven't got a negative thing to say. So thank you to Simone and the other staff for a lovely stay.

We had a wonderful time in London, helped by our stay at this hotel which was perfect for our needs. Very quiet at night, clean and well maintained, friendly knowledgeable staff (simone was particularly nice) A good location just round the corner from St Paul's and the Tower of London lots of shops and food outlets. About 300 yards from... More

On check in, I was boldly informed that this was the best Travelodge in the country. Unfortunately I wasn’t told that the wi-fi for which I had pre-paid was not working, and I wasted a long time on the phone to support before being told it was out of order. After escalation, the promised call back from Travelodge support didn’t... More

It is a Travelodge and so I am not recommending this for a luxury holiday! However a fabulous location for anyone needing a very reasonably priced hotel for a business stopover. It is 2 minutes walk from Bank Tube Station - if that! And for me was literally a 1 min walk to the Investment Bank I needed to get... More

We stayed at this hotel Saturday and Sunday night whilst in London to watch the marathon. The hotel is tucked away down a little side street and although there are lots of building works going on nearby this wasn’t a problem at all. We were warned there might be some noise Monday morning but we weren’t disturbed at all. Our... More

Stayed here for one night prior to the London Marathon. Found the hotel very easily although it was tucked away down a side street. I would say that this hotel is on the budget end of the scale but having said that, the room was clean tidy and contained everything we needed. Staff on reception were very helpful although you... We needed a twin room - which unfortunately meant an inside room and disable room If I was in a wheelchair or disabled - I would feel very let down by this room The shower was awful, the sink tiny We were warned of the building works, so can't say anything much about that For one night, this was fine... We stayed at this Travelodge to attend a friend's birthday party in London and found the hotel offered us everything we wanted. The hotel entrance is in a small courtyard off St Swithin's Lane (almost opposite Cannon Street Station). Although there was a lot of construction work going on nearby, due to the relatively secluded location of the hotel, the... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
