We travelled here over the weekend to celebrate my birthday and didnt want to spend a fortune on a hotel we would hardly be in apart from to sleep. Hence the Travel lodge idea. We are so pleased with this little gem. Right in the heart of the business area of the city, less than 2 mins walk to either... More

So damn hot. Honestly I don't understand why a multimillion company does not provide air con in all their rooms. Otherwise it was pretty nice. I've stayed in bad places and this isn't one of them. Nice lovely comfortable bed in a courtyard shared with two bars. Down a quiet side road. So close to Cannon Street railway and underground... More

It is a very nice hotel for a very good price. Friendly staff, clean rooms that are not too hot or too cold, and great location. I said "hidden" because the entrance to the hotel was not very visible, so keep your eyes open.

Nicely located, just few mins away from Bank tube station, tidy Travelodge standards hotel. The downside was lack of air conditioner and noise. You cannot blame why hotels don't invest into aircon - British weather does not go above 25 degrees very often//, plus you pay travelodge price, so fair enough. I was lucky I took some air plugs with... More

Stayed here for one night. Got a good price which helped. It's tucked away in a courtyard but if you check where you are going beforehand it's easy enough to find. Friendly and helpful staff and warm welcome. Clean, well sized room with TV and bathroom. For short stays this is good value and you don't need anything else. I... More

An excellent place to stay. It is tucked away at the back of a small courtyard. Very convenient location and helpful staff. Although there is a lot of local building work I have never found this a problem as I have wanted to be out and about in London rather than in the hotel. Second stay in four months and... More

Very friendly approachable staff. I go to a nightclub close by so this is ideal. Lots of pub and restaurants with 5min walk even on a Saturday. The city used to shut down at 7pm Friday's but now the stretch between St Paul's and the Tower are active at weekends. It's exactly like the adverts. Bed, bathroom, desk, chair, tea... More

As Travelodge hotels go, this one is pretty good. The location is excellent, just a few minutes from Bank tube, although like other reviewers I did notice quite a bit of late night noise from the alley outside. Staff are very friendly, rooms are standard Travelodge (i.e. perfectly functional but nothing special). Worth staying, if you can get it at... More

I got bitten by something that wasn't invited! Budget doesn't equal insect problems. i expect a clean bug free experience, theres no excuse for this in central London in a business location. im left feeling very let down for my choice of Travelodge.

The hotel is located in a great position in St. Swithins lane, but away from the normal London traffic. The room was very clean, and a good size. All the staff were very polite and accommodating especially Simone.

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
