based on the price this is a horrible hotel, rundown with bad service. ive seen many backpackers in better states with better service. the only good side is the location so you can spend as less time here as possible.

The place isn't run down or horrible, it is also my home! how rude of you. We are continously working on improving the building and our facilities. I honestly don't know what you mean by bad service, my staff are always being praised for their friendliness and will go out of their way to help as will I. All our... More

We arrived to the hotel around 10am with their doors completely closed and locked with a simple note saying they will open at noon. No phone numbers or bells to be seen. We were forced to tow our luggage to the nearest hotel- Premier Inn- which had much better service albeit for a higher price. They even charged us for... More

This guest made a reservation via booking.com. It clearly states that our check in time is from 2 pm onward. There was no mention on the booking form of their early arrival just a request for a room on the upper floor. The guest says he arrived at 10 am a full four hours before check in time and also... i seldom review accommodation i stay i,n due to the amount of hotels i need to stay in due to my work, as a contractor you move around a lot of places and tend to find each faceless corporate chain blends into another. However having read the previous review i do feel the need to balance a few of the... More

Stayed for two nights, and the room was not touched during our stay. The bed was not made on the second day, nor towels refreshed. The towels themselves had seen considerably better days. The room had the overall appearance of being clean, until you started looking between the bed and the bedside tables. Room 22 was permeated with the smell... More

I have spoken to our housekeeper and she assures me that your room was tidied up. Regarding the towels if you'd left them hanging up then they wouldn't have been replenished, if they were left on the floor then they would have, pretty much standard practice in most places and also as we say in our welcome pack in the... Although Central Station has since played down its status as a gay bar - (it still essentially is, in a de facto sense), there's no doubt it still has a certain charm and is almost a timewarp as to what King's Cross used to be like as an area - rough and ready - which sums the place up beautifully.... I have stayed here a number of times and whilst it is a hotel catering for guests on a modest budget, I can't fault it for hospitality. While the rooms are basic, they are comfortable and clean. The breakfast is one if the best in London.

I have had the misfortune to stay in some very poor hotels in this area charging ridiculous rates. Delighted to finally find a simple pub+accommodation that does exactly what it says on the tin. The Cleanest of rooms inc [small] bathroom, the freshest bed linen and the fluffiest of towels. Bravo. I will return.

We had to stay one night in London near kings cross for a friends party. Found this one and were very pleased. The location was great and it was very good value. The hotel part us rooms above a gay pub/club. Service was good and breakfast excellent. Could do with a but if a spruce up but overall good for... More

By far the wost value of our five-week European tour. Our room was on the third floor, no elevator, for luggage, The bathroom was shared by up to four guest rooms - the linoleum on the floor was cracked and lifted, the paint was peeling, the wood-work was cracked. The room was absolutely tiny - one had to sidle sideways... More

Thank you for your comments. i'm sorry that you were disappointed with your stay. There are in fact two bathrooms between four rooms, two doubles and two singles. The other rooms are en-suite. The top floor bathroom is scheduled to be upgraded over the winter months when we are quieter. The room you booked (number 33) is marketed as a... More

Have stayed at Central Station on a number of occasions while visiting the capital. It is right around the corner from Kings Cross which makes it ideal for a couple of nights exploring London's sights. The accommodation is clean and tidy and the staff have always been exceptionally friendly and helpful. When I last stayed there (Jan 2012) the rates... More
