We picked this hotel as we were staying in London for new years eve. It was appealing to us as it was only £140 for a night which when in london is a good price. We had paid for a twin room with ensuite and the pictures were lovely. Upon arrival the receptionist was on the phone and just shoved... More

Somewhere there is a rich man who owns a townhouse in London's fancy Bloomsbury neighbourhood among other properties. Family obligations mean that he has to find work for his incompetent, feckless cousins and extended family members. To do so he has turned the Townhouse into a hotel for them to run and washed his hands of any involvement. The Lonsdale... More

Booked this hotel last minuet, whilst the location is good the room was as basic as I have ever stayed in, the tools on the table in reception was an indication of what lie ahead. But price and location were fantastic £45 central location ( bus to oxford street 50yds away) walk to Holborn or British library. If all you... More

I was unable to write a review at the time of my stay due to illness. I have been reading reviews today and would say to anyone who is tempted DO NOT STAY THERE. I am a regular visitor to London and would rather pay a little more. THis hotel is disgusting. My bedroom door did not lock, to use... More

On arrival the stench of the building hit me first, second was the unwelcoming and rude receptionist. Upon checking in was told I was staying in he basement down some very steep stairs with a suitcase and 2 other bags, by the receptionist who barley looked up at me never mind got off her chair. Once in room it was... More

I stayed here one night in a twin room with a friend for £70. On arrival they asked for payment upfront and there was a sign at reception saying no refunds given... Obviously this was not a good sign but I decided to stay anyway as I thought it would be unlikely to find anything else so cheap and close... More

The hotel was filthy! We paid extra to have a bathroom! And I regret it as when I took a shower I felt more dirty coming out then I did going in! The toilet is LITERALLY IN the shower..... So we had to take a shower WITH the toilet. Towels smelled moldy and room reeked of cigarette smoke when I... More

The location of this hotel was perfect for all tourist needs. It was only a 10 minute walk to both euston station and Soho. The hotel itself is very dated and in need of major repair and upgrading. We were upgraded upon arrival but i would hate to see the original room we were supposed to be in!!! The guy... More

Whilst well positioned, it is a filthy, dirty excuse for a 'hotel' and no one can convince me that the adage that 'its just a bed for a night' goes anywhere near being acceptable. The reception, bedroom and en-suite bathroom were incredibly unclean. The latter had such a stench that it was only accessible with my mouth covered and contained... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
