We were happy with this hotel that looks very classic (perhaps a little too much), and definitely clean. The rooms are very comfortable, the staff is friendly, but does not do "miracles"... (I would wanted to watch the motogp championship one evening ... but apparently it was impossible to find which tv station broadcast it in England according to a... More

I stayed at the Grange City Hotel for five days between Christmas and New Years. Despite that it was a little further away from the attractions in Central London, it was a perfect location. It is literally just a few steps away from the Tube station. There are also several bus stops that are close by. Spent most of the... More

This is a well-located, attractive modern hotel with excellent staff and service. Even good lighting, which is rare. And quiet even though hard by train tracks. So what's not to like? Everything else. A good hotel must do three things right: comfortable bed, good shower and a place to put your clothes. Even Holiday Inn gets this. The Grange does... More

This is my 3rd time staying at the Grange City Hotel and this time it was for a special occasion, which the hotel staff had noted. Upon check in the lady had given us a complementary room upgrade and they had made our stay very special. The hotel room was spacious, very clean and in great condition. The hotel is... More

Good location, just outside Fenchurch Street Station and near Tower Hill underground. All staff very friendly and helpful. Would not hesitate to stay again or advise anyone else to go there! No bad words to find about The Grange!

This hotel caught my eye on our last visit to London. So when I arrived home I researched and booked this hotel for our next stay in London. On arrival at the hotel, check-in was done quickly and we were upgraded to a executive twin. The room was huge, 4 people could of easily stayed in this room. When getting... More

Lovely for a weekend get away. Was really nice and clean and newish looking. Pool was nice enough. Cracking TV. Paid an extra £40 for 2 nights for a room with a view. Ideally situated for the tube and there's plenty to eat nearby. Wetherspoons provided a decent alternative to the £23 breakfast and is about 3 minutes walk. Can... More

This hotel is not worthy of its 5* rating. The rooms are tired and really need renovating, but worse still they lack any form of sound-proofing. We could hear everything(!) that went on next door, not exactly conducive to a relaxing stay as we were conscious that if we could hear their every move then presumably the same was true... More

This Grange hotel is located in the heart of the City of London. They cater to business clients, but they also know how to handle tourists as well. The staff is exceptionally helpful and courteous, and the rooms are well equipped. The pool and spa facilities are a nice extr

In all aspects we had a great stay at Grange CIty Hotel. Maybe there are more luxurious 5-star hotels out there, but City Hotel has all the facilities you need, and compared to other 5-star hotels it is very affordable. The entrance to the tube is literally less than a 100 meters away. We were lucky and got a free... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
