Booked this as an anniversary treat on Last Minute.com with a secret hotel deal. Location was great and staff were very kind. We got upgraded to a large room which was lovely. Because of the upgrade I didn't mind so much that our view was of the building opposite. Comfy bed.

We stayed here on Valentine's weekend, and what can we say!!!! It was amazing the best hotel we have stayed in by far. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, food was just amazing. The room was stunning and clean. We couldn't fault our stay one bit and it's close to the tube so you can get to where ever you... More

I booked this hotel for a weekend stay catching up with friends and sight seeing in London. It's started very well with a free upgrade on arrival to an executive family room, which have us a view of the gherkin, and 2 king size beds with a large sofa. Rooms are well presented and staff very courteous and friendly, nothing... More

We spent three nights here late January with the purpose of our visit to go to the tower of London. So this hotel was perfectly located in an excellent location just above Tower Hill station, and across the road to the tower of London. We arrived early and where given and early check in which was great as we had... More

Stayed overnight on a Friday on business. Checked in at 1500, and was asked to wait as there was a query on my room. I waited 20 minutes and had clearly been forgotten so I went back up to the desk where I was told my room was ready and waiting. No explanation as to the delay Room was on... More

My husband I spent Feb 19-21, 2015 here. The room was large, clean, well appointed and overlooked the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. It was his first trip to Europe and my first trip back after many years. After a long flight, walking in and seeing the view from the floor to ceiling window, spectacular! It started our trip in... This hotel is in a great location for anything you might want to do in the City or further afield with rail, tube and Dockland Light Railway stations close by. Accommodation is of a good standard, and the hotel is clean, well presented and attractively decorated, although in the reception area however there seemed to be a whiff of bad... More

My partner and i stayed at the grange city hotel from the 20th to 22nd of February for a weekend stay in London. We chose this hotel as it was located in central London close to many attractions and tower hill tribe station. We arrived to be greeted by the friendly staff at reception and we checked in with ease.... More

First, the positive. The location is good, on the District and Circle line at Tower Bridge and within easy walking distance of the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. There's also a good bus service past St. Paul's to the Strand and Covent Garden. It's particularly handy to London City Airport via the DLR to Tower Gateway. There's also nothing... More

We booked this as a 'mystery hotel' on lastminute.com and paid £91 for a night (room only). Hotel is bang next door to Tower Hill station and the Tower of London/Tower Bridge. When we checked in we were upgraded to an executive room at no extra cost which was a nice surprise. The hotel is clean and well staffed. The... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
