This is the second time we have stayed here. We checked in and the desk staff were very atentive and made sure all our needs were being questioned before we even thought about them Offering maps, etc etc. We got Prosecco as a greeting drink and were quickly allocated our room. The room was very nice, a very nice comfortable... More

I stayed here with my partner for 1 night on the 9th May. Upon entering the first thing you are greeted with is the most amazingly fresh clean aroma of some kind of perfume, very pleasant. We were then greeted by the concierge who were very friendly and helpful allowing us to leave our bags until we could check in.... More

Dear Wollyjollywonderful I'm so pleased you liked the aroma in our front hall and lounge, it is actually white tea and thyme. The 5th floor deluxe rooms and suites are amazing with their views over the rooftops, I am glad that wee were able to allocate you one of these and that you enjoyed it. I hope we will see... More

I wanted to be able to say this was an amazing hotel and visually it is. A converted bank makes it an interesting and unique building in the centre of London. Checking in in fragrant surroundings ( the hall is decked with flowers ) and being offered champagne while doing so all add to the experience of feeling like a... More

We stayed at Threadneedles for three nights in May, 2015. We got a very good rate over the bank-holiday weekend for a two-room suite (1 bedroom and one living room). We loved the room; spacious for a London hotel with a large bathroom with tub and separate shower. Staff was helpful and friendly and we had a great time. Tourists... More

Dear Tombo_in_SoCal Thank you for your feedback, I am pleased you enjoyed the bank holiday weekend with us but sorry you didn't like the peace and quiet of the area. As you found out, the tube station is only a couple of minutes further along the street from the hotel so access to all parts of London is really fast... More

We spend a weekend here in this quiet stylish hotel and everything was first class. This establishment certainly deserves its five stars. It is worth remembering that the City or London - the part of London where the hotel is located - pretty much shuts down at weekends so you should not expect to find a nearby coffee shop for... Dear GlobetrottingViking I am so pleased you enjoyed your weekend with us. The city of London is a haven of peace and quiet at weekends, yet only a very short tube journey away from the hustle and bustle of the West End. As the oldest part of London, the city has many great sights that can be better appreciated at... More

Stayed here for four night and enjoyed my stay. Beautiful building in the heart of the City with classic decor. Convenient access to Bank Station and local restaurants. Room services and breakfast facilities are of a high standard. The staff are attentive with a personal touch. The only draw back was that the check-in was a little slow. Would definitely... More

Threadneedles in Threadneedle Street London EC2 is 5 minutes walk from Bank underground and 3 minutes from the Bank of England. It is in the core of the City / business district. It is a practical option to walk to any meeting in the City. There are some lively restaurants nearby eg Burger and Lobster opposite, Jamie Olivers along the... More

We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights as my husband was running the marathon. It was the perfect location as it was near the DLR and the tube so easy access for getting around. We stayed at the Threadneedles Hotel at the beginning of April. It is all about the location - The Bank tube station is 3 minutes away and most places (Attractions in the vicinity of St. Pauls Cathedral is about 10 minutes away). A well connected hotel in central London!! The Royal Exchange shopping arcade is right outside (between the Bank... More

I have stayed at Threadneedles twice now. The last time was this week. The hotel is one of the few luxury properties located conveniently in the City of London--in the financial center. The first time I stayed I was not impressed--my room was tiny (especially given price) and the check in and check out process was cumbersome. However, I tried... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
