Came to Threadneedles specifically because it was part of the Marriott properties, and also because it is convenient to the business district and the tube. Having stayed at most of the very high end chain and boutique hotels in London, didn't really expect this to outshine them, but it had the best of both qualities - great service and infrastructure to... We have stayed here many times but in the future will never pay for breakfast. A very cheap melon and grape fruit salad, a butcher muesli which tasted like wallpaper paste. I ordered poached eggs on toast, chased a waiter after 15 minutes, 25 minutes then got up and left at 35 minutes waiting. On check out was not asked... More

My friend and I visited this hotel for afternoon tea on Saturday 6th December for a girly treat. The area around Bank is deserted at the weekend which I enjoyed for a couple of hours of escape from the madness of Oxford Street. I had booked a table for 2 but this was not necessary as we were the only... More

Just returned from the Threadneedles Hotel , which was as it boasts " Tranquility in the City " Sammy who checked us in was charming, informative and efficient. Our room was charming and the additional heater was welcomed due to change in the weather. Breakfast was lovely as were the waiting staff, nothing was a bother for them , and... More

I stayed there Sunday November 30 through Wednesday December 3. The location is superb for access to the Financial center which was my purpose. That did make for a rather lonely area Sunday though I noticed quite an evening buzz the other evenings. On Sunday night I dined in the bar---just a light supper but very well done. The recently... Set in the heart of the City the hotel is well situated for ease of access to The Mansion House, Bank of England, Guildhall and other city locations. This boutique hotel set within a former banking institution exudes class. From the first greeting to the last goodbye the staff are well tuned in to satisfy customer needs and expectations. The... We were able to plan a stay at the Threadneedles as part of our Easter holiday, and were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite. From the moment we walked in off the street, we felt as though we had been welcomed to a quite exclusive club. The restoration which must have taken place a fews years ago really... More

Right near Bank f England a great location. From the moment you walk in you can see the history of the place. The staff provide that warm and friendly service from the time they greet you. We had ordered cream tea as room service, and the scones were not up to scratch. When I raised this with the front desk... More

Great building, very nice room: mine was on the last floor, had a large bathroom with a shower + a bathtub, and even a balcony with chairs to sit outside (shared with the rooms next door), room was very well equipped, comfortable bed, not too much light in the room, functional air conditioning and radiator, for what appears to me... I recently stayed at Threadneedles whilst on a business trip, and the experience completely surpassed my expectations. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous (from the lobby, to the bar / restaurant and of course, the guest rooms), and the staff (especially the Night Manager, Dowson!!) go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and memorable. I will absolutely be returning... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
