Set in the heart of London's old financial quarter (the "City") this little gem has all the charm you might expect from one of Marriott's fast growing selection of unique Autograph properties. Formerly an old bank, the building is well situated with an outstanding glass domed lobby. Service is efficient and rates are variable (ranging from reasonable to exorbitant). Rooms... More

What a find! This fantastic boutique hotel was an amazing place to stay and celebrate a big birthday. Although the first room that I went in to wasn't large enough for two friends to share, I was quickly moved to another one that was fabulous. (They were both beautifully designed and the quality was exquisite.) A welcome card was waiting... More

We really enjoyed our stay here, we had a very good deal on the room rate and were given an excellent room with all amenities, iron and ironing board plenty of power points and very nice toiletries. The staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful and we received vouchers for drinks in the bar, unexpected and much appreciated. The only... More

Dear Allanandgillie Thank you for your feedback, I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay and found the staff so helpful. We are currently reviewing our breakfast menu. There is currently an a la carte menu with a very wide range of items plus a couple of set fixed price breakfasts. I think it is the set menu you are referring... More

Although I had popped into the Threadneedles Hotel before to have a coffee meeting, having made my first booking through a third party app for last minute hotels, I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the rooms. Needless to say - I was delighted by the service I received; arriving late on a Sunday evening, the staff were still... More

Dear JordanD I am so pleased you decided to stay with us rather than just popping in for a coffee. Our 5th floor rooms are great with views over the city rooftops, so I'm delighted we were able to upgrade you as a Marriott Rewards member, to one of those. I will certainly pass on your kind comments to our... More

My sister and I treated ourselves to a break using a Travelzoo voucher which was very good value. Our twin room was large ( by London standards ) and well equipped. Service was good at check in and in the bar. If it hadn't been for the breakfast it would have been a 5 star review. Although had I paid... More

Dear KentMaya I am so sorry to read that although you liked the hotel and the room you had, you found the breakfast disappointing. There are no excuses for items appearing dry or overcooked and I have asked our Head chef to look into this. Whilst our breakfast is all table served rather than having a buffet, ther is a... More

I visit London very often on business and always stay at the Threadneedles since it is across from my office. Rooms are very nice, some more spacious than others. Service is extremely helpful, specially at the front desk. Food from the Bonds restaurant is good and breakfast, even if it is "a la carta", is up to the task. This... More

Having arrived late on the Friday evening, we were greeted by a quiet yet professional lady how duly assigned us our room. When we were shown to the room, it was not exactly what I had expected. We were in the lower basement facing directly onto the street. The room itself was well appointed however it was very noisy. I... More

I liked this hotel, great location for the city of London. Friendly staff and good size room. As a platinum member i got an upgrade, thx. Only crumble, nearest parking is a 15' walk and breakfast was below par. Waiter only service slows down the process and £22 in this area is steep, though again platinum made it free. Nice... More

Dear Dave C Thank you for leaving a review, I am delighted that you liked the hotel and found our staff so friendly. Sorry that you found the complimentary breakfast too slow; we do offer a fully served breakfast rather than a self serve buffet, as so many of our guests hold business meetings over breakfast and prefer not to... Lovelly room, well furnished with a very comfortable bed. Room was well insulated and heard hardly any noise from outside! Breakfast was fantastic in the restaurant, its all waiter service though so bear that in mind if you are in a hurry. Get down there earlier as the grub is really good. Not had a chance to check out the... More

Stayed here for a week for business trip. The room was actually much bigger than what I expected & service was excellent. I ended up checking in much later than I was planning on due to flight delay and I was a little bit worried because I was expecting a package delivery. When I made it to the hotel around... More

Dear jjs594 Thank you for leaving feedback on your recent stay with us. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your visit and that you found the check-in process so smooth. Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
