I am not a frequent hotel visitor - but this was just horrendous. why? Because you expect 1 thing really from a hotel - to sleep. The room had gaping holes between the window and the frame, resulting in me feeling like I was sleeping on the street. This wasn't helped by the bin lorries, shouting and large volumes of... More

We stayed at this hotel for one night, and considering it's a budget chain brand and in the City of London we were surprised at the proactive friendliness of many staff throughout. The room was comfortable and efficient, and the location really convenient. The breakfast was quite basic, in a small, not well equipped or staffed restaurant.

Tired old building, smelly corridors thought it was a bit grim. Things got better in the room though which looked recently refurbished and was clean. Nice comfortable bed, bathroom was okay even if the shower was a little small. Staff on the front desk were friendly. Handy location for around Liverpool street.

clean, basic and staff very friendly . Perfect for staying in the city with close reach to everything that side of town. For that price in London do not expect anything than a clean , warm room. Bathroom is fine, nothing special but clean with a shower

Exactly what you expect from a travelodge, clean, good size and central. It's not the most luxurious choice but it was reflected in the price. 5 min walk from tube, and lots of bars, restaurants, tesco etc nearby. Perfect location for work or leisure

Stayed in this hotel for two days. During our stay we had to move to another room once due to a plumbing leak. No toiletries in the bath at all (not even in the soap dispenser), with a clogged shower tray as a cherry on top. Staff was of mixed quality, some good, some bad, but here's a hint for... More

I was not expecting a great deal as it was in central London and reasonably priced but I would not have expected to be able to close the windows in mid January and that the toilet functioned and did not block. Otherwise acceptable for the price and location

I booked in to this hotel for a business trip as it was only round the corner from my offices. If i had known what i was in for i would have booked somewhere much further away. First the only positive the room itself was clean and of a decent size with a desk that was good to be able... More

The hotel is in an excellent location, four/five minute walk from Liverpool Street Station and easy to find. The room was lovely and clean. The least noisy hotel I've ever stayed in London. The staff were really friendly and helpful. They allowed us to leave our suitcase in a room behind reception for a few hours after we checked out... More

Cheap accomodation, although clean,we did have a couple of issues, the mattress was very hard, the shower tap didnt work correctly, the bath kept filling up as we couldnt swop the bath tap to the shower tap,no cold water on the 2nd morning, which was exolained so we got a 50% refund as an apology, not enough breakfast food on both mornings we had to wait... Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
