I stayed three nights in this hotel travelling for business. The price was reasonable considering the location. However, I didn't see it was mentioned on the website that the rooms do not have climate control or telephones to reception. There is just a fan in the room. This is doable for one person but if there are two, in the... More

It was a warm day and the rooms were far too hot as there wasn't an air con in the rooms. In the morning Mohamed helped us with breakfast and he went above and beyond what was expected, he gave us suggestions on what to do and was extremely helpful and friendly.

Stayed for one night when I needed to catch an early morning train out of Liverpool Street. The room wasn't that clean with a couple of hairs on the bathroom wall and the carpet didn't look like it had been vacuumed round the edges. The room was exceptionally hot even though the window and curtains were closed when we arrived.... More

I stayed at the Travelodge on business recently. The hotel was fine and staff helpful enough, but the room was like an oven. I had to leave the window open overnight and was woken super early by a jolly bin man... Grrrr. If you stay here, I'd pick a cool day. Otherwise , good location, clean and welcoming.

There was so much to like about this hotel, the space in the room, the self-adjusting heating rather than having the temperature decided for me, as some hotels do, the amount of space on the desk for reading/writing. My one gripe is that the hotel does not have any walk-in showers, despite my having booked an accessible room. The guy... More

Great location for access to tube, but the room was boiling whist we stayed and the weather wasn't at its hottest either. We had a fan which didn't do much and with the window open, as with any London travel lodge, it was noisy. However saying this, it was off the main roads so noise wasn't as bad as it... More

It is an ideal location for using the underground. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend using this travelodge. It is rated as a 2* but i think that has more to do with the little things you get in a hotel room like tissues, biscuits, hair dryer. I have stayed in 4* hotels before and have... More

One of the new travelodges, room comfortable but quite small. There's no air conditioning but a fan is provided, however with the window shut to keep out the city noise it's difficult to keep the room at a comfortable temperature. Only 30 minutes free wifi too. I would have scored higher if the sink had had a plug! Luckily as... More

Good value for money staff at reception a bit rude wanted another £10 for an early check in when we said no they seemed annoyed. Breakfast was good along with the food in the cafe. Loved the air con in the cafe. Rooms a bit dated but only for a few days ok for us. I would stop here again.

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
