clean, basic and staff very friendly . Perfect for staying in the city with close reach to everything that side of town. For that price in London do not expect anything than a clean , warm room. Bathroom is fine, nothing special but clean with a shower

Exactly what you expect from a travelodge, clean, good size and central. It's not the most luxurious choice but it was reflected in the price. 5 min walk from tube, and lots of bars, restaurants, tesco etc nearby. Perfect location for work or leisure

Stayed in this hotel for two days. During our stay we had to move to another room once due to a plumbing leak. No toiletries in the bath at all (not even in the soap dispenser), with a clogged shower tray as a cherry on top. Staff was of mixed quality, some good, some bad, but here's a hint for... More

I was not expecting a great deal as it was in central London and reasonably priced but I would not have expected to be able to close the windows in mid January and that the toilet functioned and did not block. Otherwise acceptable for the price and location

I booked in to this hotel for a business trip as it was only round the corner from my offices. If i had known what i was in for i would have booked somewhere much further away. First the only positive the room itself was clean and of a decent size with a desk that was good to be able... More

The hotel is in an excellent location, four/five minute walk from Liverpool Street Station and easy to find. The room was lovely and clean. The least noisy hotel I've ever stayed in London. The staff were really friendly and helpful. They allowed us to leave our suitcase in a room behind reception for a few hours after we checked out... More

because this area of London tends to shut down on weekends this hotel becomes a reasonably priced option when looking for a base in the city for a weekend break. A short walk takes you to Liverpool Street station. The hotel feels dated and in need of a refresh but the rooms were clean and breakfast cooked well.

Stayed here for 3 nights 30/31 Dec & 1st Jan. Location couldn't be better as its a 5 minute walk to Liverpool Street station. Room was spotless and staff were helpful. Didn't eat there as there were plenty places around. Stayed on the 6th floor to try and avoid noise issues I had read of on here, street noise could... More

I stayed at the Travel lodge 150 yards from Liverpool Street station. The on line booking process was simple and efficient. The hotel is just so convenient, a very short direct walk form Liverpool St Station. On arrival in the early evening there was a bit of a queue at reception so I used the automatic booking in system which... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
