Just spent one night at this Travelodge and I have to say, the location is only a few minutes walk from Liverpool street station, it was very clean the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you, the only down side is that the rooms do not have air conditioning and it can get very warm, although a... Stayed with my son at the Liverpool Street Travel lodge the 24th August for 2 nights, found this to be in a really convenient really interesting location, felt really safe in the heart of the financial district. Easy walking distance from Liverpool Street with sneaky peaks at the 'gherkin' on the way. The room was quite a good size with... More

It smells of damp, the room smelt of cigarettes, it is dirty, the bathroom especially. There are left over crumbs on the side. It hot, noisy and I would not stay here ever again. I tried to move to another travel lodge where my collegues were staying but was told from the other travel lodge that even though they had... More

After reading reviews before my trip to London this weekend I was not looking forward to staying at the Travelodge. On arrival the receptionist was smart, pleasant, helpful ensuring our rooms were together, knowledgeable when I asked about tubes to the West End. Check is was quick and efficient. There was fresh jugs of iced water on the reception counter... More

On a good note that staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, honestly the type of service received from them was the equivalent of 5* accommodation! However, the sheets were slightly stained in the rooms, the bathrooms were covered in streaks along the mirror and cabinets. The bath and showers were also covered in stains. The cafe area had a horrible... More

This Travelodge is in a perfect location and has just had a refurb. I would recommend a stay here. Liverpool St Station has a fantastic Wetherspoons at the entrance so we ate there for breakfast. They have there own breakfast room as well.

We stayed here while my husband was on business. The hotel staff were all very friendly and provided us with a fan as the room was roasting. The location was good and close to Liverpool Street station. Our issue with our room was it was very basic in comparison with other travelodges we have stayed in and my bed had... More

I recently stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and wouldn't recommend unless you have no other options. There is no air con in the rooms and all that is provided is a small fan which circulates the hot air making it worse! It makes for a long night, no sleep and waking up every so ofter clothes soaked in... More

This hotel is very close to Liverpool Street station. The room was basic but clean. The breakfast was good. I liked that you had to swipe your room card on security doors before getting to your room. The weather was very hot which made the rooms hot and humid with no a/c. Would stay again.

Stayed here for 3 nights last week - the hottest day ever recorded the day we booked in yet no A/C. Yes, there is a fan provided, but we were on the 6th floor yet couldn't open the window fully. Room was stifling hot, so had to run the fan all night. Otherwise, it's an ok hotel, nothing great, nothing... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
