I stayed almost 7 days in Aston. Rooms are clean everyday and the small kitchenette is handy. Very practical set up. Lack of "lift" can be a concern if you have heavy baggages. Else, you get what you paid for.

Earlier this year, I reserved a night at Aston's Apartments for December 2014. I really liked this place when I stayed here previously and looked forward to my stay next month. Unfortunately, I was contacted last week and told that the buildings had been bought out and they are cancelling all reservations. Sad for me, but Ross at Refresh Accommodations... More

A triple room with kitchenette at ca £140 per night for two weeks is hard to find in South Kensington area. Pretty convenient location. A few minutes from Gloucester Road tube station, not for from South Kensington station too. £16 for wifi for two weeks, unlimited number of devices. Tiny shower room not for those of a bigger size. Good... More

I spent almost 10 days in Astons apartment. I had a single room, in the second floor. I had read in the reviews that the hotel doesn't have elevators, so I asked for a room in lower levels. But at the best you should expect at least 30 Steps. The room was extremely small , with a Kitchenette (and a... More

Very good location in a very quiet place, less than 10 minute walk from Gloucester Road Tube and large supermarket. The staff are friendly and polite. The rooms are very small, but there are everything you need: small kitchenette with all facilities, the bathroom cleen but old. The only uncomfortable thing - there is no elevator (our room was on... Have stayed a couple of times now, both times very good experiences. It's the location that wins here -- fabulous value in a great location, five minutes from Gloucester Road Tube. The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms ARE small, and could perhaps use some sprucing up, but the beds were clean and comfortable, and the tiny kitchenette/closet... More

The staff were helpful, courteous and efficient. The location is great, being a few minutes on foot from Gloucester Road Underground and a choice of 'bus routes. There is also a selection of shops and eateries handily sited. The Hereford pub and Wildwood Restaurant both serve decent food. To the rear of the hotel is a lovely garden for guests'... More

We unfortunately checked in early eve and got allocated a nasty room in the basement (17). Far too tired to ask to change rooms. Upon checkout, wanted to ask why the rooms were not like they were advertised or the photo's on booking.com. Answer was that the pics are over 15 years old and they need updating. Asked them if... Not the fanciest place ever, but I will definitely stay there again! Staff was helpful, friendly and attentive. The ad said there was a kitchen, but really it was a stove top, microwave and mini-fridge. The bathroom was really a water closet, with a drain hole in the middle of the tiny bathroom, for a shower. It was a bit... More

My wife and I recently stayed here in July and again in August. We had 10 days here initially after arriving in the UK. After touring around the UK we stayed again at the beginning of August for 3 nights. It is a terrific location with proximity to Gloucester Rd tube station, 3 minutes walk and close to Kensington Gardens... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
