This hotel has a great location in Westminster overlooking a lovely residential square. It is only about 10/15 minutes walk from Victoria Rail Station where you get the train to Gatwick airport. I booked via Hotwire and was slightly concerned after reading some reviews on here. The room itself was on the small side and the decor dated (circa 1980/90).... More

This lovely hotel right in the heart of London is great. Don't expect a clinical room just expect something very British. Traditional furniture and a great welcome when you arrive. It has a great restaurant and bar. Stayed for 2 days on business and would love to stay again.

I think its a great place to stay in. The location is excellent, the staff are very good, cooperative and helpful. All in all, a couple of days in and you just don't feel like leaving. Its got a little bit of the olde world charm seamlessly integrated with the new.

On arriving at the hotel we were greeted with. "Are you sure you've booked at the Rochester?" We were told to sit down over in a corner out the way, while other guests arriving after us were being dealt with. We felt very uncomfortable and embarrassed, eventually we were called to the desk. Felt very much like we were being... More

Easy to find, walking distance from Victoria stations (coach, underground, rail). I walked different streets every day, admiring the architecture and enjoying the surroundings. My room was facing a quite busy and loud street with some neon (or other) light, lighting up the room in the evening. As I don't care about loud stuff when sleeping, I didn't mind it... More

The hotel is very conveniently located, just a 10 minute walk from Victoria Station, and around 15 minutes from Westminster Abbey and Parliament. The staff were always friendly and extremely helpful. Juan and Alex at the concierge/belldesk were noteworthy to mention. On a tangent, Juan recommended an Indian restaurant nearby which is cramped but the food is excellent. The room... More

We stayed here for one night as we was attending The Royal Garden Party, this hotel is central for sight seeing in a lovely location, the rooms are clean and well looked after, the breakfast is excellent with a good selection of continental and full english. We had a wonderful time, the staff are also helpful. Highly recommended.

    Staying in Westminster

    Neighborhood Profile
    Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
