I have stayed here several times and have always been very happy. It is not a hotel, it is a place of quietness and contemplation, very comfortable and relaxing and centred on a tranquil garden. The rooms vary greatly in size, but all are comfortable. The rooms don't have TV sets (a blessing!), but if you have a laptop, the... More

We were looking for a reasonably priced hotel and chose on price and reviews. The journey there is quite easy, taking the docklands light railway from Bank underground station. It is a short walk under a bridge and round a corner to the foundation. There is a secure gated enclosure, though the area actually felt pretty safe. You can park... More

When you walk all day in London, and you stay in this quiet place of St Katharine, it's a perfect match...To find a hotel with parking and breakfast, with a good price, what a difficult task in London, and you'll have it in this hotel. God bless this place...

This review covers a recent three day stay at the Royal Foundation of St. Katherine in London and a business trip to The Excel Exhibition Centre. As I always do, I am breaking this review down to the Great, Good, Bad, and Ugly. Then, I will provide some bottom line comments and answer THE most important review question: when I... More

Dear Jeff (without shoes).... I am stuck for a appropriate response to you fantastic, apart from confirming that it has been duly shared and appreciated with the entire team here at our tranquil retreat. Your feedback both confirms that we are true to our word, and to use your example, the cheapest option would have been to install televisions in... More

Dear Marcia, We are humble in our acceptance of your kind words of gratitude over the services and staff here at thus Urban Oasis. We have shared your wonderful feedback with the entire team. Your suggestion that we should be listed as a 4 or 5 star hotel is naturally flattering, but we must remain reserved in our approach as... More

If you're looking to retreat into a relaxed world of spiritual contemplation, the Royal Foundation is undoubtedly a good choice. It's proximity to the Docklands Light Railway also made it convenient for travelling into London. However, do be warned that the rooms contain no fridge, no complementary water or toiletries, there is only one very small mirror in the bathroom,... More

Dear David, I am pleased to read that you thoroughly enjoyed the tranquillity of our Extraordinary Urban Oasis, with fantastic connections to London and all it has to offer. I have noted your comments regarding some additional services that would normally be expected from a 5 star rated hotel (with a price that would reflect this) and feel saddened that... More

Just back from two nights stay at this lovely retreat, firstly getting there, it is two minutes walk from Limehouse station which gives you great access to all that London has to offer. The hotel is set is a lovely garden and has it's own Chapel that is open to all guests. They provide a good quality continental breakfast that... More

Dear Maypool, Thank you for the wonderful and honest review. Our free high speed WiFi ensure that those who require media to entertain them, they can do so with ease. The lack of television and phone is actually one of many reasons why our guests keep returning to our Urban Oasis. I am ashamed to read your final comment about... More

My Wife and I found the RFSK to be everything previous reviewers had claimed; peaceful, well located for visiting East London, convenient to transport links with an excellent breakfast, and as importantly, very friendly, courteous and professional staff. We will be staying again.

A real find - a welcoming feeling from the moment we arrived at 9.30pm Friday to leaving (very reluctantly) on Sunday at 12.30pm. Very clean rooms, white as white towels and sheets, plenty of hot water, extremely good continental breakfast, peaceful, relaxed atmosphere. Best night sleep for ages. Safe parking. Would highly recommend for lady travelling on her own or... More
