This place is just as others have described it; quiet, out of the way, restful atmosphere, nice rooms and good people to deal with. But the very top priority of any hotel, guest house, or B and B is a proper night's sleep. Sadly that was not possible here. The traffic noise, the occasional siren, even the rumble of trains... What a gem of a place! My friend has been staying here for many years when she visits London so it was a natural choice when the three of us were visiting over the weekend. We decided to have one of their flats between us, this consisted of a room with a double bed plus a room with twin beds,... More

Amongst the hurly burly of London is the tranquil Royal Foundation close to Limehouse DLR. There's nothing pretentious here, the rooms are basic, clean with no TV and furnished as you would expect for a conference centre. This one is built around the lovely Chapel and peaceful gardens. Breakfast is simple but the prices you pay (and I stay regularly)... More

The Royal Foundation of St Katherine is not a hotel, so don't expect hotel standard accommodation with air-conditioning, double- or triple-glazing, room service, etc.. What they do offer is secure, comfortable, basic en suite rooms, in a quiet facility that has a communal reading lounge, enclosed gardens, a quiet chapel, a supply of drinks and snacks to purchase at reception... This is a very special location; an oasis of calm in Limehouse. A couple of minutes from rail access and with parking. An incredibly historic foundation; set in lovely grounds. What a beautiful tranquil place. I have a mobility challenge and I had a ground floor room with a wet room, which was excellent. It overlooked the garden and was really quiet. It was very hot when I stayed there and there was a stading oscilating fan, excellent!
