This elegant Islington house is ideal for those wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of London. There is plenty of public transport around within walking distance. One can walk along Regents Canal to Islington for example. A different experience as it is more like staying in private accommodation. There are 2 rooms (1 double and 1 single)... More

Wonderful rooms, great location and a nice host ! I´m wondering about guests aren´t satisfied staying at the "Arlington Avenue Guesthouse". And it´s not too difficult to use the burglar alarm (mentioned in the negative reviews below). The location is great: There is a multitude of buses nearby, Islington´s Upper Street is a nice stroll away and even "Boris´s bikes"... More

I stayed here while in London for work and will certainly go back. The house was lovely - elegant and peaceful. The room was very comfortable and looked down to the pretty garden. The location is very good, close to transport and places to eat on Upper Street.

This accommodation is good value for London; the room was comfortable and in a nice part of town close to the canal. However I wouldn't stay here again. Nor would I recommend it to anyone, unless they are able to put up with the extremely odd and controlling behavior of the live-in owner. Upon arrival, there was no exchange of... More

I’m sorry that this (anonymous) person had a disappointing experience but unfortunately I was not at home in August 2012 when the reviewer claims that she stayed. So she can never have met me. It is highly possible that this anonymous review is not genuine. There are a considerable number of substantial factual inaccuracies: 1) Nowhere at Arlington Avenue does... More

My stay at Thomas's house was very enjoyable. I found Thomas very accommodating with check in and check out arrangements. The bedroom went beyond expectations: very clean, well decorated, well-lit, with a view of the garden The bed was extremely comfortable with proper cotton sheets and a duck down pillow and duvet. It had me very well rested after a... More

Arlington Avenue has been a good experience for me. 7 minutes walk along the river from the nearest station(Haggerston), so a great walk too. The house is elegantly furbished and the rooms are comfy and very clean. The neighborhood is super quiet and the house too. The toilet is well equipped with marble fining and high pressure shower/bath. Not an... More

Back for the second time, as it is the perfect oasis in London. No traffic noise, but so close to buses and a walk along the canal to Angel tube station. Very friendly, very relaxed, and a real feeling of freedom. Double bedroom is the best bet, breakfast is self service but all the more relaxed for that. Decor is... More

This is not a hotel. It's a private house with live in [excessively fussy] owner and only two bedrooms; one shared bath room. Location is out of the way of everywhere. Furniture is eclectic and well used. Low price isn't worth the hassle. No breakfast.

It is very regrettable that someone has had a bad experience. But this anonymous reviewer did not stay at Arlington Avenue in July 2011 as she claims. When did she stay? In a very short piece, ‘Pinky Feet’ manages to make a substantial number of factual errors. The furniture is not ‘eclectic’ but almost entirely English. If it is ‘well-used’,... More

Booked in as we planned to see the Flaming Lips at Ally Pally - this is a very nice place, a tiny bit twee and a long journey from the bedroom to the loo - bring a long dressing gown - the stairs are steep ! Very good value though, beautifully clean and pretty furniture / comfortable beds ! Long... More

There are no rules at Arlington Avenue. The reviewer has misunderstood. Arlington Avenue is a private house and guests are given keys so that they can come and go as they please. Naturally there are a number of things that need to be explained such as how to switch on the TV, operate the burglar alarm etc. Arlington Avenue is... More
