Booked to see Mamma Mia and needed one night stay in London. Booked the Royal National and was pleasantly suprised.. the rooms were clean and quite big, the location was perfect for anyone wanting to be close to all the bright lights of the city.. underground just few mins from hotel. The breakfast room is light and airy, plenty of... More

We stayed here before our Contiki European tour last June 2007. Front desk was quite busy (as to be expected of budget hotels) and inattentive. After waiting for 15 minutes or so, we got our key card and lugged our 30 kg suitcases all the way to our room. As we got to our floor, I thought I was in... More

The location of thie hotel is excellent for anyone on a site seeing tour of London. The room was spacious and clean. The staff were extremely polite and friendly, and the tour operators on the buses outside were great! The only fault would be the restaurant - not great but did the trick. We'll be back to finish our site... More

we stayed here for one night recently and im glad it wasnt one night longer! our room backed onto the hotel square which made it extremely noisy because of the bar outside. there was also a lot of noise from the corridor outside the room and the lift, as our room was right next to it! the food in both... If all you want is a place to lay your head, this is it. Superb location - right next to Russell Square tube station and a 24hr Tesco. Hotel is immense, seemed to be constantly busy. Doesn't deserve it's star rating, is really just a Travelodge in a good location.

If you travel with your gang (football, school,..), that hotel will be suitable. But if you look for a comfortable and quite place to stay, think again! This hotel is ugly, noisy and the stuff is rude and incompetent. I have made a reservation for a triple room, they gave me a double with a lousy extra-bed. I have asked... More

I knew not to expect too much after reading reviews of the hotel. We booked through British Airways and decided since London is so hideously expensive in every way that we would not change our booking after reading the negatives because we wouldn't spend that much time in the hotel, anyway. I don't regret that decision, but future travelers should... More

I stay at a lot of hotels and this is the worst 3 star I have stayed in, albeit you have to knock off 1 star for all london hotels. The Hotel is very large, and this in itself is problematic. the Hotel itself reminds me of a military barracks, the size, function and meal facilities. On checking in, it... More

This summer my family and I were on holiday in London. One of the most difficult decisions was to choose a hotel. After hours and hours searching on the Internet, we finally booked a room in Royal National Hotel. It was recommended to as, but we had no idea about the hotel. When we arrived we had to wait until 2p.m.... More

We chose this hotel for weekend in London as it is three stars so should be of a reasonable quality, and is near Euston Station. We also read Tripadvisor reviews, but they did not prepare us for our dreadful experience. I asked for a quiet room and was offered one overlooking the courtyard, which sounded fine. We were allocated a... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
