I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. Room is not big, but clean and tidy, water pressure is good enough for shower. The attitude of the staff is OK, from my point of view .. they just doing their job, seldom to see a smile on the face! It is the best place to stay when in the winter,... More

Small rooms and horibble breakfast. Nothing else can describe this hotel, which due to the number of rooms has corridors which resemble much more a prison than a hotel.

All I can say is be prepared to wait, wait , wait. I found the staff unfriendly The lobby was always full of people, the rooms were always too hot and the breakfast was not good. The only good thing about the hotel is its location.

Clean, adequate hotel, good location close to tube and British Museum. Problem is no air-conditioning and windows which open only three inches. Room was too hot! Also, many rooms face a huge, center courtyard. Noise from the lobby bar spills out into the courtyard and reverberates until the bar closes around midnight. I would consider this hotel during the winter... More

Superb location, basic - but no less than travel inn standards, brilliant full english buffet breakfast. Fantastic facilities. Its no palace, but its a great place to lay your head and be on the doorstep to the best of london.

A friend and I stayed at the Royal National in May of 2005. The room was clean, the shower was great (fabulous water pressure) and the location is terrific (only a block and a half from the Russel Square tube station.) The service is abysmal--the "concierge" wouldn't even make a restaurant reservation or call for a taxi. We also had... More

I have just come back from a weekend away in London (May 6th to 8th) and stayed at this hotel. As I arrived everything seemed nice, you enter the hotel with two desks one on the left and one on the right. There were no signs to say which desk to sign in. It seemed many went to left desk,... More

I understand that you will see some negative things written about this hotel, but for regular, common folk like my son and I, simplicity is the name of the game. We were here the last week in April 2005 to celebrate my son's 23rd birthday and since we had stayed in this hotel back in 2003, my son really liked... More

You cannot expect anything more from a hotel with such a central location(in front of a MAGNIFICENT park -5' walking to Br museum and Starbucks, 8' to Oxford Street) and such a low price. Highly recommended for a london experience Breakfast limited and not edible-paid one excellent(5,-pounds more) Rooms ok - Not that clean(bring your own towels) I would prefer... More

Stay at Royal National becoz of its convenience location for my Europe trip, and it is not as what I have read from some of the comment about (the not so good one). It was a nice short stay for me & my friend, Underground was just next to it. Cool, nice & clean room we have, & the breakfast... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
