Second time in Royal National after 14 years, very reluctant to return but had to as was booked via a travel agent for business purposes. Feared for the worst - based on previous experience and other comments. However improvement noticed. Arrived at 1.am, check in efficient and quick. Double room small but clean and warm. No safe box, no amenities... More

Good location very near Tub station, firendly stuff and ok beds and breakfast. You can also add more on your breakfast for litlle purcahsing (5£) e.g. eggs, bacon etc. Lousy cleaning, friendly recommend for a cleaning group, look behind a tv and upper site, you can see surpricingly thick layer of dust in there. I didn't dare look under the... More

Very handy for walking to museums, West End etc, but I wouldn't stay here again. It was very tired, not spotless and the beds had fusty blankets on. Staff all very friendly and helpful though. Even if you are on a tight budget t may be better to look at Youth Hostels rather than this huge place!

For a single room for one night is cost me more than $120. It has old furniture and the bed did not even seem like a proper bed. Tv did not work. It is out of date. The location is good however there are better hotels and private hostel rooms around the same area for a cheaper price. I only... More

I stayed at this hotel with a friend in December. Staff were really friendly and more than happy to help, especially when we broke our card for the room key! The tube station is just around the corner and less than a 5 minute walk, right on the piccadilly line so in a great location to get everywhere. The hotel... More

Good place for the amount you will spend. Located close to a Tube stop, which will get you anywhere. I did enjoy the breakfast very much. For the price, locations, and breakfast I will stay here again.

Stayed here as part of group of six people sharing two rooms in April 2014. Rooms/corridors/lobby areas clean. Breakfast reminded me of a school canteen - hordes of overseas youngsters packed main dining hall. Tip - use less well-known dining room adjoining, and pay extra for full English breakfast. Good, budget hotel. Stayed three nights - would stay again if... More

Another honest review warts and all from me - so here we go. It was the first time we had stayed in this particular hotel so did not know what to expect. When we arrived it was a free for all checking in as we were part of a large group and it seemed too much for the reception staff.... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. The room is very small but ok , for the price and location its fine. The breakfast is awful, but there are plenty of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. The only issue I had with this hotel was that the cleaning lady came into the room without knocking on the door and I was... More

Stayed only one night at this hotel and would return. The staff are all very helpful rooms are basic but clean and comfortable I would recommend you to pay the extra for the full English breakfast. The hotel is only a short walk from kings cross We had an appointment in the afternoon and the hotel allowed us to have... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
