We stayed for 2 nights at the Royal National in early September. I was advised to stay there for the location. It was probably the only good point about this hotel except it was very reasonably priced. The room was clean & basic but the overall impression of the hotel was shabby and I would not return. We were offered... More

Firstly the service of the hotel staff was appalling, they we're rude and unhelpful. Secondly what hotel these days does not have wifi, information states it is available this is misleading! You have to sit down stairs in an external Cafe to use wifi. Thirdly I booked a double room and received a room with three singles bed, this was... More

Never had to stay in a prison block but have seen them on tv. This hotel puts me in mind of a prison. Only stayed 1 night it was good to escape. As for the full English breakfast. Yes there was bacon beans sausages and "fried eggs" there were 2 trays of these that looked as if they had been... More

I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Everything is stained, froze all night as the window wouldn't close. No hair dryer or irons in room, have to wait for housekeeping to open at 8am?? This is more like a 1 star.

We first knew we were in trouble when we tried to check in. Care factor of the staff...nil. No wifi..."you'll have to go and sit in a local restaurant." We got to our room after stepping over the filthy washing throughout the halls and noted no mini fridge to store daily medication required. Back to reception we went...no fridges..."sorry, maybe... We stayed in a double room in this hotel for four nights, as we could not find a room in the hotel we stay in regularly (one of the small terrace houses in Gower Street. I have always compained that these small hotels lack an elevator and the rooms are tiny, so I had great expectations for Royal National, which... More

The Royal National is an enormous building near Russel Square ( the Underground is one minute walk). The weather was beautiful, so it was just awesome to walk to Picadilly square, East End, Oxford-street ( all around 10/15 min. from the hotel) and even to Camdon ( half hour walk). The rooms were clean ( only...put some more towels !!... More

Does what it says on the tin. No complaints. Efficient check-in. Reasonable room-bit dated, reasonable breakfast. Friendly service. Clean. Stellar location. Just don't expect a complimentary reflexology session while sipping a Bellini in the exquisitely appointed spa- this hotel is not for Vegas high rollers.

Stopped here for 2 nights, Mum Dad and daughter. Didn't pay a lot and didn't expect a lot and that was exactly how it was! We only paid £220 for a triple room for the 2 nights. It also included a three course meal in one of the hotels group restaurants and a night bus tour round London ..... Which... More
