We slept 2 nights at Royal National Hotel, and we think the location was good; close to Oxford Street and the Underground. The double room was old and had small damages everywere, the room was cold and the bed was terrible hard and uncomfortable. The breakfast was simple, but ok! We think this hotel deserves 2 stars, not 3. We... More

The hotel is conceniently located, and has a good price for it. The biggest drawback: no wifi in rooms(entire hotel) other than a restaurant. Rooms look boring, no dryer, iron, essential toiletries. Sorry, but I felt depressed in this large property.

Royal National Hotel, Russell Square London. Very near to Russell Square tube station (less than 5 mins) so easy access to underground services. Very large hotel, staff friendly. Found the bedroom very hot and stuffy. English breakfast was almost cold from the buffet !! London bar at the entrance is good for a relaxing drink or two.

We were on a study tour of our college from India. The Hotel is located in the heart of the city. I mean its location is the main advantage.. The Russell square metro station is very near from the hotel.. Walking distance from hotel. The rooms are basic but comfortable and equipped with all basic amenities.. Buffet breakfast is also... The hotel is in excellent location, but breakfast is poor, there is no wifi in the rooms and no fridge. In the vicinity there are many restaurants, a pub and market. The subway station is nearby and there are bus stops in front of the hotel.

Location is great with 2 minutes walk from the underground. Breakfast included, very simple type. If you ask for an English breakfast, extra 5 pounds required. No shampoo or any other included in the bathroom. No fridge. No tea. As the hotel is big, with more than 100 rooms per floor, visitors walked around 7-24. For the same price, I... More

My wife and I (both 60+) were in London for 3 days on a sightseeing trip, so we just wanted a convenient, comfortable base to sleep, shower and eat breakfast in. The Royal National filled that role very well - Russell Square underground is just round the corner and Euston, Kings Cross and St Pancras stations are within 10 mins... More

We recently spent 2 days in london and stayed here overnight . The staff was extremely helpful and friendly . Its spotlessly clean and nice downstairs . The landings however looked a little tired and shabby .... but it was clean . The room was basic but had everything you need as a base ...i.e somewhere to wash and sleep... More

I stayed at this hotel in a party of 14 over the weekend 8-10th May 2015. The hotel was clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was decent quality as well. I am a regular traveller and have nothing negative to say about this hotel, it represents good value for money in a convenient part of central... More

This hotel fills its 1600-plus rooms with student tours. Room was clean. NO FACE TISSUE AT ALL ("we do not provide", reply when asked, and me with a sinus infection). Website states: Wireless internet is available in all of our hotel lobbies, free of charge. WRONG. Only available in one cafe, not in the rest of the public areas, lobby... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
