Maybe we were lucky...because when I look at previous reviews the hotel sounds awful. Upon our arrival, which was quite late at night, we were immediately helped and given our keys. It was a little hard to find our room, because there are a lot. The beds were simple, but okay. Thank goodness the bathroom and toilet were both clean... More

It has a very good location, but for the rest it is "too basic". and too noisy! As there are so many guests in the hotel the personnel is quite rude. The room was fine. I don't think I would come back.

Having reviewed other negative feedback, I was somewhat worried about what I might be faced with on my 2 night break. I booked a twin room for my 7 year old daughter and myself via Superbreak. We were able to check in early and were given a room on 7th floor at the back of the hotel. Although the room... More

This hotel is very basic but it has everything you need when visiting London. You are hardly in the hotel with all the sites to see. The hotel is in Russell Square which is one tube stop from the train station and around a five minute taxi ride. It's very plain but does have a everything you need.

Although this is not a cheap option for alone traveller, this hotel offers tiny but clean rooms and a very good location. Breakfast was poor, for additional £5 per person you can add quite reasonable english breakfast. The main problem was a door, which had a huge chink underneath and the light from the hall was quite distirbing sometimes.

Where do I start... Upon arrival looking up at the hotel for the first time I was concerned by the black grim run down look but thought, it must be better in side. So me, my wife and 2 boys check in, go to the room (kids excited) open the door and wham bam! the most shocking room ever! Mould... More

The good points of this hotel are that it is close to everything and it is clean. After that I have no positives to add. The staff were very busy and did not give patrons much time or attention. The "continental breakfast" was terrible, soggy cereal, rubbery toast, canned fruit and reconstituted milk. It is a stop over for all... More

This is a terrible place. For this money you can find a much better hotel in Scotland and other places. The rooms are poor, it was cold in them, though it was June. The TV set was very old. You can use WiFi only in the hall. We had problems with hot water in the sink. It didn`t home from... More

I'm pretty satisfied with my stay in the Royal National Hotel. The room was clean and there wasn't much noise. The bed was comfortable and I slept well at night. Overall, I'm happy and I'd visit again.

Few of the staff are friendly and most are surly. We stayed in the summer--it was hot and the hotel uses duvets--just dumb. The food in the carvery is terrible: overcooked and tasteless. We booked it because of its location in Russel Square. We would never book this hotel again.
