This was probably the worst hotel I have ever been forced to stay in. The first night we stayed, was the night before our Contiki tour. The receptionist, who's name was Dorota, was SO RUDE!! Unbelievable. She kept on asking us if we had a voucher for our stay, which we didn't as our travel agent had booked our accommodation.... More

The location was great, walking distance from Euston and russell square. Price was worth as breakfast was included. Hotel is so big and have a lot of rooms, good if you like to live in busy places with people around. Rooms are old and need renovation.

For the sixth time in London, I returned to stay at the Royal National. The price is not bad, the location is good. The service (if we're lucky) is good. We asked for in exchange for a room with double bed and everything went well. The problem are the rooms facing the inner courtyard are at night, very noisy with young... More

Awful. Staff are miserable. Waiters are like the food police e.g. you can't have 2 starters instead of 1 starter and 1 main in what's supposed to be a buffet. Shower freezing to boiling continuously. Shabby overall. Super break should drop this hotel.

Don't. Just don't bother. You won't get a wink of sleep, you'll walk for miles and you'll get a lovely, yellow, tea stained kettle. As well as the terrible service, it's extremely expensive and the wifi is £6 a day. The windows are single paned, meaning you can hear every car, bus, bike and ambulance that goes past. And the... I felt like I was stepping back in time stopping at this hotel. Rooms were clean, however they needed a revamp. Bed linen needed replacing, towels were worn, grout dis coloured. We had a tripple room (3 single beds) and one of the single beds can only be described as a childs sized single bed. As its smaller in width... More

We stayed in the hotel Fri 13 to Mon 16 Feb as part of a Superbreak deal which was excellent value for money. This hotel is a great base for exploring London. Its in a lovely location Bloomsbury with its elegant squares and v close to British Museum. Also nearby are Camden Market, Soho and Covent Garden. Russell Square tube... More

Stayed here for a College trip in Feb 2015 in rooms of 3. The bedrooms are very basic, the beds have a sheet, blanket and a quilt, these need to be replaced as there are worn and discoloured. On arrival the bathroom was dirty, there isn't a lock on the bathroom door. The hotel lobby is ok, but the corridors... More

I have stayed at The Royal National twice. The first time we had a leaky radiator which soaked the carpet but we were given another room immediately. The rooms are comfortable and clean which to be honest is the most important thing for me. I have read comments regarding noise but I heard nothing. The staff are all polite and... More

It's a relatively inexpensive hotel in a very cental location. Very close to the russel square underground and the British museum. There are a few grocery stores and restaurants nearby. It isn't the cleanest most friendly place and the complimentary breakfast is very lacking (I also wouldn't recommend eating in their cafeteria style dining room unless you are really in... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
